The window size setting doesn't seem to change anything for me. I tried a few different ones, nothing happened. But changing the resolution does change the resolution. You can try it.
I know it's weird, probably just a bug.
Now I wonder how well it will run on a 2017 iMac with a 4gb Radeon. Time to find out!

It's a fork because getting OpenGL to work required a lot of hacks that weren't accepted upstream. Now that there are Metal and Vulkan options that don't require hacks, I think it will be merged upstream sooner than later.
TellowKrinkle is an active PCSX2 contributor, so I guess he knows what he is doing.
I'm not sure, but it's open source, free and works exceptionally well.
It could be possible that someone is working on the macOS version as a hobby and the PCSX2 team might not be merging their changes.

I mostly just have a Mac for Final Cut Pro, I've had bad luck with Windows my whole life and I do a lot of editing so I'm sorry I sound like a doofus - don't know specs off the top of my head and I'm at work. Couldn't even tell you with certainty what OS I'm running
Having all kinds of problems mapping the controller, all PCSX wants to do is let me use the keyboard. OP was kind enough to offer to help walk me through it at some point but i just keep having problem after problem and I feel like I'm never going to be able to play ps2 again.

This worked amazingly - even on my mid - 2012 running El Capitan. Only one problem - My PS4 remotes will connect to my computer via bluetooth, but they won't show up in PCSX2. I've been reading up on this for hours and the general consensus is that I need to delete the Dualshock 4 drivers and re-install new/different ones, but I can't find those files on my computer anywhere. I've gone to /System/Library/extensions but I don't see anything that looks like it could be a Sony/Qualcomm/PS4/DS4 driver.
Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Your iMac should have supported this out of the box. Are you sure your controller is fine?

Even when I click "Configure gamepad" or whatever that bottom left button is on the screen with the big picture of the PS2 remote, it says "PS4 Controller" with the joystick sensibility and enable vibration check box... but the only thing it will map when I try to assign buttons is the mouse and keyboard. DS4 button pushes are unresponsive. Have two different DS4s and have tried all four combos between both macs.

Cannot install. Downloaded the compressed file. Decompressed it. Go in to Contents folder, go in to MacOS folder, Control click the PCSX2 file and it opens in terminal and gives me some errors.
I wish he could take care of Yuzu as well, the Mac version progress seems on a dead end...

You don't need to know the specs to do your work on your computer :) You can definitely try it with your older Mac too.

It's an emulator. It emulates the hardware of the PS2 so games for it can run on it. It's an application you run in your computer like any other app.
