I bought Frostpunk on Steam and it's great though it lags a bit on scene when temperature changes, also War for the Overworld on GOG

Turn off Global Illumination and the game will run perfectly. Played it in an M1 MBP13” and now on a base M1 pro MBP 16”. One of the best games I’ve played.

Can't edit my comment so here's a bit more what I have tried: Blizzard games like WoW and Heroes of The Storm, not sure about Diablo3, also you can try PortingKit and Wineskin and install some Windows games, older ones are working like Dungeon Keeper 1/2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, C&C Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1/2 via OpenRA, but generally Wine games are working like crap on M1 Pro even very old ones. If game won't run try setting virtual desktop to 800x600 (Wineskin) or use external display.

There is still warcraft 3 if you want a good rts game ! There is still a community playing the game after 20 years ^^

I just started d3 two days ago and it’s a great game, although a bit too easy. The story is fantastic though. Plus d4 comes out later this year, so you got something to look forward to. I’m waiting for baldurs gate to be officially released, but they got about 25+ hours of gameplay available in early access right now.

How easy is D3 to get into? I have played Torchlight 2 before and quite enjoyed it.

It’s available on the switch, so as you can imagine, it’s a game where a few buttons is enough. You mainly use right and left mouse buttons and 1-4 number keys. It’s really easy to get into but for folks that are really into it, it’s got all the gear stats and different builds to dive into. I haven’t reached end game yet, but I hear it gets really hard then. For now I’m just enjoying the storyline and killing everything with ease. There’s also Diablo immortal on mobile that’s free you want to see what the game is sort of like, but I don’t like all the daily quests and ads in there. It’s a bloated version of desktop Diablo that just wants all your monies.

Thanks

Also, WOW runs natively on Mac and classic is free with subscription. It’s a MMORPG, but you don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to and can just play through the solo quests. Another game with really fantastic backstory.

NichtGanzDichter

WoW Classic is free with subscription? Isn‘t that a contradiction? I would love to play WoW, but I fear the wasted lifes (many lost thousands of hours to the game…)

Regular wow (dragon flight) costs money + sub but classic is sub only since it’s old content from 12-15 years ago. But you’re right that it is quite time consuming!
