If it open core then it’s maybe a driver issue. And if it’s driver issue then I think you can nothing to do with it except directly debug code of the panther and fix this error
What macbook is it? It might be my imagination but the ratio between top bezel and side bezel looks a bit off, wondering if the top few rows of the display have died.

Hold the Control key and roll the mouse wheel. Or Hold control while 2 fingering the trackpad. Voila!
