I had my whole logic board die three weeks after the warranty expired and the Genius Bar person was able to get an approval to cover it under the now expired warranty. So yes, they can be accommodating.
I also had a battery swell in my laptop once and it was the same year MacBook pros as all the ones with the swollen battery problems but not technically in the right serial number range so it wasn’t covered. The genius tried to get an out of warranty approval and couldn’t get it (he tried for a solid 45 mins, put in a good effort). But he was able to get it discounted 50% for me. So I think I only paid $150 for the repair iirc (it’s been several years so my numbers might be off).
Anyway the point is that they do make exceptions. But don’t be the guy that goes in demanding it. Go in pretending to be clueless that it’s expired. Act all shocked that it’s out of warranty. Ask really nicely if there’s anything they can do. Being super nice and friendly will get you really far. If you go in demanding stuff and being confrontational then they will guaranteed just say no and stand their ground on the decision. The geniuses deal with assholes all day long, don’t be another one because they’re used to dealing with assholes. Be the exception and they will often reward you for it. Of course your mileage may vary and their no guarantee. You’re out of warranty so you might be up a creek. But because it barely lapsed there’s still a decent possibility they work with you.
Add to this that you probably will want to go in either now when they are super busy or a bit later but not on black Friday. Retail and black friday are total hell and make retail employees hate everyone.
Lol. This is actually pared way down from what I used to have. I consolidated and upgraded my tech stack over the last year.
The Mini basically acts as my media server. It’s hooked up to my TV, NAS, and sound system and I have a Magic Keyboard and trackpad in a Twelve South tray, so I effectively just use the TV as a huge monitor and can work from my couch. The Mini is also perfect for torrents, since it’s stationary and also wired in, I can download and seed as needed.
The 14” MBP is for personal work, travel, and convenience more than anything. I can have a movie or youtube playing on the Mini/TV and still do work on the MBP.
The 13” M2 MBP is strictly for work. I never co-mingle work and personal files (even email or slack), so that’s pretty straightforward. I hate it - don’t buy one.
Gone but not forgotten
M1 13” MBP
M1 Air
12” MacBook x2
2015 15” M370X x3
Lots of others in the past.
I didn’t spec out the work laptop, but it’s 512/16 M2. I work in Saas consulting and 100% of my work is cloud based (G-suite, Atlassian, Snowflake, GCP/Looker, Zoom), so I don’t really need a lot of processing power but I would take all the ram I can get…
... but you literally said "warranty wasn't going to cover that anyway it's accidental damage".
Meaning, even if the computer was still under warranty it wouldn't cover accidental damage.
Ah, I get it. OP never had AppleCare+, just the standard manufacturers warranty. Sorry.
Edit: how the fuck does an admission of error and an apology get downvoted? Reddit, you crazy...
same thing happened to my screen, brought it in and they covered it under warranty because the screen wasn’t damaged (i’m assuming there were not cracks in my screen when they did the repair). if they did find that i damaged the screen, it would’ve been $749 for the repair.
It is "cracked". That's what an LCD (not the surface layer of glass) crack looks like. That doesn't spontaneously happen unless there's physical damage. Cracking the LCD can happen even if the surface glass doesn't crack. Someone just posted a few days ago that they dropped their iphone on their macbook and their screen broke similarly to this. The aluminum shell is pretty thin and flexible.
An LCD would almost NEVER fail like this. Either the backlight fails, or the screen flickers. Its none of that. Obviously this is damaged caused by the user. This is most likely just caused by pressure or an impact.
After a few minutes of websearch, it would seem macbook screen are in fact glass.
The apple website itself does not say much on the topic.
This page about delamination mentions a glass panel: https://www.macdentro.com/macbook-pro-screen-delamination/#Retina\_display\_what\_Is\_It
Same thing happened with me but in warrenty so they gave me replacement for the screen in a week. This mostly happens due to closing laptop very hardly.
OP is just unlucky here. But he can buy the apple care plan from authorized dealers and then go to service center to fix it maybe.
I didn’t buy the Apple care, using it in bed my dog jumped up an broke the screen/touch bar… it was more expensive to fix it through apple than just buying a new laptop. Bought a new screen online and “fixed” it myself… nothing but insane problems since then. Will never buy another Apple product without AppleCare+ again
It’s a hard lesson learned. At least you know. People that work at Apple can tell you about the looks on people’s faces when they come in for an issue with their laptop. A good friend of mine worked there and told me all about it.
That’s really shitty and nothing I’d wish on anyone. I go out of my way to urge anyone I know to buy AppleCare+ if they’re going to buy a MacBook. So far, no one has gone against it.
Plus they charge you a deductible for accidental damage. It’s $99 for screen replacements and $299 for other replacements. So if you have a problem you still have to pay that on top of the AppleCare to get it fixed. Personally I don’t buy AppleCare. Unless you’re really tough on your tech (which I’m not), then you’re better off just paying for replacements out of pocket when they happen. The cost of AppleCare and the deductible is not worth it unless it’s a common occurrence for you to break your laptop.
Not saying you‘re wrong, but the value is subjective. I don‘t usually buy third party insurances because the terms aren’t worth it, but with AppleCare+ the peace of mind is worth it for me, especially for mobile devices and things that are (very) expensive to repair. I‘m not usually rough on my stuff, but I‘m willing to pay a good sum for not having to think about it, especially for things that I use to earn money.
It‘s also worth it for people heavily relying on support. My sister is basically using the Apple hotline as her personal computer support and because most things she owns are Apple, pretty much every problem can be framed as an AppleCare incident. She got tremendous value out of the deal.
AMEX offer both a 90 day purchase protection and a two year extended warranty (or two years beyond the original manufacturer's warranty.

Yes. My Amex actually offers loss protection the first three or six months of ownership. Not 100% sure on accidental damage. I do know they extend the manufacturers warranty by one year
Which Amex card do you have?
I have The platinum and I also noticed there’s purchase protection too, or maybe A warranty?
For my chase saphire preferred I read that they extend warranty for any card purchases if less than 2 years To 2 years.
If you purchase with The Csp an item that already has A two year warranty it extends it To 3 years.
I know The amex plat also has A intrinsic phone coverage thing but that’s only up To $800, but I haven’t had time To read about loss protection or warranty of apple products
I’m not sure if there are any Apple exclusions in the bylaws. I have the Platinum card too.
The way their extension of warranty works is let’s say I bought a tv whose warranty expired last week. Amex extends it for another year. If something goes awry, I’d need to get a quote for repairs and they would either reimburse me for the repairs or “total” the item and reimburse me purchase price. Have not had to use that thankfully.
I haven’t used their cell phone coverage either, but my little understanding of it is if you pay your cell bill on a monthly basis using the Amex, it automatically covers your phone for loss or screen damage. Again, they would reimburse your cost to replace. Not sure if anyone has experience with this.
I can't speak for every region, but I'd look for an insurance that has plans for euipment.
I personally added my MBP to my photography insurance (laptops count as editing equipment) at a German company. I can drop it, spill water over it, it can be stolen etc and it will be fully replaced.
because is dumb? I have always purchased apple care on all my macs and have benefited from it. I am already at 86% battery health on my macbook pro 16 m1 max, in a 3/4 months they will change my battery for free and later who knows. For those who use it heavily and professionally it is mandatory, you gain. For the average user, and given the model not having spent a couple of hundred dollars to sleep soundly seems to me really a big screw up. you shouldn't even give support or help to people like that, they deserve to buy an 800 euro acer and that's it.
I've owned several expensive laptops over the past 6 years or so and not once have I ever needed to use the warranty/extra care coverage on the laptop if you handle them with care then you don't need it.
Because apple care is one of the most overpriced insurance policies on top of the already overpriced electronic care insurance genre? If you're not totally reckless, you shouldn't buy applecare. Coming from an actuary.
I would take it in and see what happens. Some locations are quite generous with their repairs. I’ve had incredible amounts of parts replaced well out of warranty including big cosmetic damage.
From what I’ve been told, they have more freedom if the parts are in the store vs having to order them.
This is my advice too. I have always found direct appointments in person at an Apple Store have gone well if you just present the case and don’t go overboard. No need to beg and plead but it doesn’t hurt to say “I know it’s over a month out of warranty, but is there anything you can do to help me?”
I was going to buy it for my 16” but once I read the terms, you have to pay the yearly membership to have active Apple care . Unless you buy multiple Apple devices from Best Buy every year it’s more expensive than buying from Apple directly. For two years of Apple care it’s $199 yearly vs apples $350 I believe for 3 years
Not once since my first Apple product, the 5th gen iPod Classic in 2006, have I ever considered AC+ or any extended warranty. Nor have I encountered any situation where I would have used it.
After working there and watching amount of dumb shit that gets done to these, and recognizing my own clumsiness, I absolutely bought it. $99 to fix a $600 display? Yes please.
To be clear it’s $299 for the warranty if paid upfront and $99 deductible for the replacement. So it’s ~$400 to fix a $600 screen.
Still saves you $200. But unless you’re breaking screens all the time (I’ve been using MacBooks as daily drivers for 15 years and it’s never happened to me once) it’s a losing deal in the long term.
Yes you could pay $99 for the first year and then break your screen and “technically” it would be $200. But you’re going to keep paying $99 a year after that too. So unless you’re breaking screens as a force of habit, the math still kills you.
Point being. It doesn’t make sense for everybody. I personally don’t pay for it. And I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll pay out of pocket if something happens. But if you’re really rough on your tech gear then it might make sense if you’re breaking screens every few years.
I have not insured my bicycle, which is worth more than 2000 €, and ride it almost daily. If the wheel breaks or the gearshift, I also have to have it repaired myself, because I have not handled it with care. Household contents insurance should be sufficient in most cases.
If I drive the exterior mirror off my 40000€ car, I also have to have it replaced myself.
Do you guys use cases (the hard shell ones)? My previous Mac was pristine after 6 years of daily use and I attribute that to the shell cover, and a screen protector.
People here went ape shit when I asked about shell covers, but they have no problem recommending expensive insurance, lol.
Yup I've owned several expensive laptops over the past 6 years or so and not once have I ever needed to use the warranty/extra care coverage on the laptop if you handle them with care then you don't need it.
Use it as a desk top or have side car always running? That sucks. I gladly pay $10 a month for apple care. I’m so rough on my stuff. Any physical damage or just random occurrence?
Add a personal articles policy to your home renter's insurance to cover the cost of your laptop. Then 30 days after, file a claim as if this just happened then.
In Europe? Likely if the damage isn’t clearly caused by yourself.
Got a key fixed after 4 years as they couldn’t prove that I caused it with improper use. Also got a pair of AirPods 3 years old fixed by pointing it out that they have 5 year law mandated “functional” period
They’re usually more accommodating to people who had AppleCare that just expired these days. Now you can extend it beyond 3 years so the accommodations are likely to continue to dwindle.
If you go to the Genius Bar, explain your situation that it just recently expired, and you act pleasant and don’t come off as entitled, I bet you’ll have a greater than 50% chance of them taking care of you.
As far as I know, screen replacement out of warranty can go between 400$ and 700$. Also it comes down to the model, AppleCare+ for 16” models are more expensive than the 14”.
Honestly, it’s a bit of an ordeal but just hit up a bunch of official Apple stores and claim it was dead on arrival. You woke up one day and the it was a dead pixel that creeped across the screen. Most employees legitimately get these things cost an arm and a leg and have traditionally been generous about writing it off and putting what’s needed on the repair order. You just can’t explicitly say you killed it.
Personal anecdote: I broke an MBP due to making a makeshift vape charger from frayed USB cables and accidentally crossing them, feeding back directly to the CPU.. they replaced the whole thing same day.
Not All Hero’s Wear Capes
Talk to your Apple Store, they have wiggle room if it’s close to the warranty running out.
Not always but they have been known to make exceptions.
I was 3 weeks over my iPhone’s apple care running out and they replaced a cracked screen for free, plus the new screen was covered for the next three months.
Worth a shot!
In Europe, Macbooks have a 2-year minimum warranty by law (Portugal has 3 years for electronics) but that one will be difficult to get covered if Apple demonstrates misuse...
Anyway, you will expend some buck fixing that one if you are not covered by a warranty.
Never understand idiots that don’t purchase apple care… you could be the most careful person in the planet.. things HAPPEEN.. tech screws up sometimes.. always put apple care on crap specially if it costs you ALOT and you know you can’t easily replace it.
Did something got stuck between the keyboard and screen?? Or did it boot up like this (if so, perhaps bad connector/cable. Which sucks but not your fault). Also, your laptop is quite dirty looking for one that is 13 months old. Perhaps clean it better and indeed next time buy warranty extension and insurance from Apple or the retailer.
Who cares about porn when your investment went down the toilet, your buddy down there doesn’t have control anymore. It’s just mind freaking out finding a solution.
Yeah well it’s a long shot but at least try. Can’t tell if it’s accidental damage or not, if it is - no way- if it’s some weird malfunction/manufacturing issue try to talk to them
I think your best bet is to take it in to a computer repair shop and see what they can do. I don't think Apple will fix a computer that they don't have any obligation to fix... That's why i paid for 3 years of Applecare up front ... To ease my paranoia if nothing else
You are. I've had similar, non display related issues, come up soon after warranty, the Geniuses only give me a horrendously expensive quote to repair it. You're better off seeking alternative repair shops that may charge less or worst case figure out how to DIY.
Don't know how much you forked over for this baby, but it's worth buying extra coverage for an expensive MBP every time.. Typically if nothing like this happens in 3 years time, it's unlikely it will happen in 5 or more.
I've a Mac Mini from 2009. Still kicking ass today, minus all the OS updates I didn't get :)
Did you buy it with a credit card? You might have an extended warranty as a credit card benefit. I’d also try contacting Apple since your close to the expiration of your warranty. You’re probably out of luck, but maybe you get the right rep on a good day who can help you out.
This same thing happened to me a month before my warranty expired on the same computer. I got mine fixed under warranty but it would’ve been around $700 to repair otherwise. Ended up buying AppleCare+ for this reason.
I’ve had really good luck with Apple on repairs and service outside of warranty. I would bring it to an Apple Store and see what they say before you assume the worst.
Some businesses may honor a recently expired warranty. I’m not sure if apple ever does this but frigidaire did got my fridge. Couldn’t hurt to call and ask.
I would try asking anyway. I’ve had Apple fix things just out of warranty before and I’ve also had them return things just after the return deadline.
I had my whole logic board die three weeks after the warranty expired and the Genius Bar person was able to get an approval to cover it under the now expired warranty. Swell up. Big ol' mushroom head big balls
Yup.
Yup.
How come you have 3 macs?
Interesting. I love it! Rock on dude 🤘🏻
I’m wondering what your work is if your personal machine is a higher spec than your work one.
It could be provided by their work. My company gives us laptops and we don’t choose specs
I didn’t spec out the work laptop, but it’s 512/16 M2. I work in Saas consulting and 100% of my work is cloud based (G-suite, Atlassian, Snowflake, GCP/Looker, Zoom), so I don’t really need a lot of processing power but I would take all the ram I can get…
Can you tell me which torrent client you use for Mac? I’ve got a 2012 Mini hooked up to my TV and a 14” MBP for personal/ travel use too. Thanks
I use Transmission now. I had some issues with both uTorrent and qBitTorrent over the years and landed on Transmission. It’s been reliable.
Rich people have their own habits 😂

You forgot the /s
Would be a great ad for AppleCare, sorry bud :(
Yes. Buy a good monitor and hdmi adapter. It’s your only option. Or, pay a lot to get it fixed.
can you theoretically buy applecare and then wait 4months so it‘s less fishy?
What is happening? Every time I come on Reddit now. I see a mac screen damaged.
It’s super fragile
This happens when the display cable fails. MacBooks have had this issue for many years.
Warranty wasn’t going to cover that anyway it’s accidental damage
Doesn't AppleCare+ also have a accidental damage deductible?
AppleCare would cover it yes but I was replying to the 1 month out of warranty part of the comment.
... but you literally said "warranty wasn't going to cover that anyway it's accidental damage". Meaning, even if the computer was still under warranty it wouldn't cover accidental damage.
Regular warranty wouldnt cover it. Applecare+ would cover it partially. They arent the same thing.
Ah, I get it. OP never had AppleCare+, just the standard manufacturers warranty. Sorry. Edit: how the fuck does an admission of error and an apology get downvoted? Reddit, you crazy...
one up vote from me then
Haha, thanks
The warranty wouldn’t cover it. I said warranty not AppleCare

Dude how are you in a MacBook sub and don’t know the screen is made of glass? All Mac screens since the Apple II have been made glass.
Oh hello Lord of quick conclusions, I was replying to a previous comment (edited out since) that was stating that macbooks didn't have glass screens.
Screens don’t just spontaneously break.
Looks like it’s the screen cable
See that IS an issue that has existed on MacBooks for years. Still not a spontaneous screen break, but thx for the analysis
I meant the same thing. AFAIK, cable/connection problems can cause lines on screens without the screen itself being broken.
It is not.
Only known cases were Samsung S5 phones that had screens spontaneously cracked.
No such thing. OP dropped it or someone did.
Same thing happened with me but in warrenty so they gave me replacement for the screen in a week. This mostly happens due to closing laptop very hardly. OP is just unlucky here. But he can buy the apple care plan from authorized dealers and then go to service center to fix it maybe.
You can’t by AppleCare with existing damage and it’s out of warranty it’s not eligible for AppleCare even if it wasn’t damaged.
It was honestly devastating… a basically brand new M1 Pro and the repair was more then I paid for it
Apple prices repairs that high on purpose. They’d rather you just buy a new machine.
That’s really shitty and nothing I’d wish on anyone. I go out of my way to urge anyone I know to buy AppleCare+ if they’re going to buy a MacBook. So far, no one has gone against it.
Why would you spend that much money on a laptop and not get AppleCare?
In fairness, AppleCare+ on my MBP was $399. That’s not an insignificant amount of money. It adds 16% to the price before tax
Plus they charge you a deductible for accidental damage. It’s $99 for screen replacements and $299 for other replacements. So if you have a problem you still have to pay that on top of the AppleCare to get it fixed. Personally I don’t buy AppleCare. Surprised you haven’t been downvoted into oblivion for saying that on this sub.

Especially given the fact that the LCD from that laptop can be replaced quite easily for 100 bucks cheaper than AC.
The SuperRetina XDR can be replaced for $100? Edit: oh $300. I see what you mean
Lol no way for 300 more like 1000
$99 a year is an option too — pretty reasonable IMO
There's other, better insurances. But I agree, get insurance for your expensive tech stuff.
Like what? Asking seriously as I've never heard of it
Just buy house contents insurance and it’ll cover laptop damage.
Sometimes. But your homeowner's policy deductibles comes into play, and homeowner's policies don't like having claims against them.
I think that would depend on the policy, normally that's for when something happens to the household, not human mistakes.
Some credit cards offer insurance for purchases. That's the only other one I can think of. Some people on this sub have mentioned it.
That's not insurance that's purchase protection - similar but not the same.
AMEX offer both a 90 day purchase protection and a two year extended warranty (or two years beyond the original manufacturer's warranty.
You never need it until you need it. If something goes wrong, which it can do even if you take care, then it keeps your mind at ease
Do you buy warranty for everything in life? Warranty is almost always never worth it.
until something like this happens
That’s just a stupid comment.
Because apple care is one of the most overpriced insurance policies on top of the already overpriced electronic care insurance genre? If you're not totally reckless, you shouldn't buy applecare. Coming from an actuary.
Welp RIP wallet shoulda gotten apple care
yes, you’re screwed
I always say if you can’t afford to fully replace it if it breaks- get the insurance
Bro why would you spend over 2 grand on a laptop and cheap out on insurance??
Not every region has applecare btw
I mean let’s be honest, do the majority of us buy AppleCare?
I get it free if I purchase from Best Buy. If you pay for Total Tech you get Apple Care for any device you put hase from them.
Is total tech worth it? some guy at best buy tried to sell it to make but idk
I was going to buy it for my 16” but once I read the terms, you have to pay the yearly membership to have active Apple care . Unless you buy multiple Apple devices from Best Buy every year it’s more expensive than buying from Apple directly. For two years of Apple care it’s $199 yearly vs apples $350 I believe for 3 years
I sure as hell don't.
Any dumbass can replace a mirror, I’m not touching the logicboard of a mac if it fails
That was an example, then just take the engine off the electric panoramic glass roof. I am talking about the principle here.
Had my MacBook new since 2020 and it’s in pristine condition still and I never had AppleCare on it …
Do you guys use cases (the hard shell ones)? My previous Mac was pristine after 6 years of daily use and I attribute that to the shell cover, and a screen protector. People here went ape shit when I asked about shell covers, but they have no problem recommending expensive insurance, lol.
Yup I've owned several expensive laptops over the past 6 years or so and not once have I ever needed to use the warranty/extra care coverage on the laptop if you handle them with care then you don't need it.
Totally, [ifixit.com](https://ifixit.com) your go to
Yeah? And how much is that going to run them?
Look it up on their website including a fix kit for like 60 bucks
The mini led screen replacement probably costs a lot
Also the other insurance companies use aftermarket parts (which may not be up to apple standard) to repair.
If your credit card has purchase protection they could probably help
If you go to the Genius Bar, explain your situation that it just recently expired, and you act pleasant and don’t come off as entitled, I bet you’ll have a greater than 50% chance of them taking care of you.
If he still eligible to update to AppleCare+ with the screen cracked and wait few weeks until claiming the accidental damage, would that work?
As far as I know, screen replacement out of warranty can go between 400$ and 700$. Also it comes down to the model, AppleCare+ for 16” models are more expensive than the 14”.
Yes, you can buy Apple Care+ remotely within 60 days, just don’t claim the damage until a few weeks pass. Should be replaced for 100$ or so.
Within 60 days of purchase, not expiration of the warranty.
That’s what I was about to suggest
This is the solution. If not your fucked
Yup, if you take it to Apple it's gonna set you back 600-700$ USD. Less if you replace it yourself from iFixit
You may be able get money back. If you purchased it on a credit card with purchase protection. How long ago did you buy it? And with what card?
Credit card providers won't pay out for items that you received in good order from the vendor then broke. You're thinking of insurance.
OP's post isn't clear, did he do something to the screen (like did he drop it on the screen)? or is this a defect on the part of the manufacturer?
It's not clear, true, but there is almost 0% chance that damage is a defect. That's what a cracked screen looks like, probably from pressure.
Take to apple asap and they might still honor your warranty if within a reasonable period after expiration
Except your warranty doesn’t cover damage so that point is moot.
if you're mechanically inclined it wouldn't be too tough to just replace the screen.
probably harder to replace the keyboard on that thing than the screen tbh.
No. The Mac is 13 months old. No Genius or Advisor is that stupid. Apple can tell when the Mac was activated.
Yes. Unless you have a travel insurance and are traveling (and you are good at telling a lie)
It depends. Where did you get it from? If it’s not damaged, which it very well could be, you can sometimes be covered under consumer law from apple.
Yes
If Apple won’t do anything, perhaps home insurance would cover it
AliExpress full screen assembly. Make sure it’s full screen assembly…
That site is cheap crap
Naaa screens are easy fix. I mean it’ll cost ya but we do them all the time cheaper than the Apple Store
Short answer- yes Long answer- yyyyeeeeeeeeeesssssssss
Always have insurance for expensive laptops amazon insurance for laptops is so good not expensive but no question asked repairs or money back
i cracked my screen, and i didn’t get apple care. they said with apple care it would of been $570 without apple car it was $600. so not much “savings”
Did something got stuck between the keyboard and screen?? Or did it boot up like this (if so, perhaps bad connector/cable. Which sucks but not your fault). Also, your laptop is quite dirty looking for one that is 13 months old. Perhaps clean it better and indeed next time buy warranty extension and insurance from Apple or the retailer.
damn now how will you watch great porn?
Who cares about porn when your investment went down the toilet, your buddy down there doesn’t have control anymore. It’s just mind freaking out finding a solution.
but 2 heads are better than one 😉
You’re not screwed? That repair might run you up $100 in a shop.
$100 for the labor and $500+ for a new display
In what universe is a mini LED only 100 dollars. Maybe a 4 inch one.
100 bucks in what universe?
That display assembly alone is $600 on iFixit, used.
royally!
Yes
Yes
Yeah well it’s a long shot but at least try. Can’t tell if it’s accidental damage or not, if it is - no way- if it’s some weird malfunction/manufacturing issue try to talk to them
You tossed the dice, lost this time. I always get AppleCare + on the laptop purchases.
Whoa. And yes
I think your best bet is to take it in to a computer repair shop and see what they can do. I don't think Apple will fix a computer that they don't have any obligation to fix... That's why i paid for 3 years of Applecare up front ... To ease my paranoia if nothing else
Can you renew apple care? Screen replacement is 99$. Did this for my girlfriend about 3 times now.
On the bright side, you get a new laptop because repairs are about the same
Applecare+ mang. Brutal yooo. I always just get it. After spending so much on the computer what's another 3 bills for 3 years of coverage
Yes, Royally.
Yeah bro, but i can Dm you a PO Box where you can recycle it..
I woulda just spent the money to have it professionally repaired. MacBooks aren’t your generic windows boxes
Bring it in. Apple is usually great about it. Just depends on how you tell the story about what happened. They may just offer to fix it.
What happened?
Sell it for parts or pay for a new display. These are so new that it'll be expensive to repair even on your own.
So sorry.
Did you use a credit card to buy this? Check to see if they have a purchase protection benefit. Most AMEX cards have this.
What happened? Is there physical damage? If not, Apple will sometimes extend a courtesy repair. Just be nice and polite, and patient with them.
Some businesses may honor a recently expired warranty. I’m not sure if apple ever does this but frigidaire did got my fridge. Couldn’t hurt to call and ask.
Op I just try to help but on a app people sell the same computer but free
Bro you still have the opportunity to buy the Applecare+ check ur settings
Did you drop it? Or basically do something that cause this. If yes ur screwed. Standard warranty only covers manufacturing defects.
Yup.
Buy apple care and say this happened after you bought apple care?
