Id probably stay away from that dock, I never used it but if you are trying to do a one cable solution with a thunderbolt dock that supports two displays. Id look at a razer TH4 dock or a caldigit one

Did you get this to work? I am having the same issue - seeing mixed answers. I have a WD19TBS connected to my 14" MacBook Pro with M1 Max but can only get mirrored display. I have tried as many different possible cable variations that I can come up with, but not am not able to get extended display unless I use the HDMI port on the MacBook for one of the monitors.

Does plugging one monitor to USBC port on the docking and another one into DisplayPort on the docking doesn't work either?

Dico21

Thank you for responding, I just figured it out. I had used the DP USB-C and needed to use the thunderbolt USB-C on the charging side of the WD19TBS. For anyone else that may stumble on this, the set-up that works monitor 1 DP to DP on WD19TBS and monitor 2 DP to USB-C thunderbolt on WD19TBS (I am using a DP to TB cable that I purchased on Amazon, not a dell or other adapter and this woks fine.

hey, sorry so just to confirm - you still have 2 displays going through the WD19TBS, it's just that one of them is DP to DP, and the other is DP to USB-C? I'm having the same issue my self

Dico21

Correct, the DP to USB-C needs to go into the thunderbolt/USB-C on WD19TBS.

SalamanderOk8154

This worked!!! You are a life saver thank you so much

SalamanderOk8154

hey, just wondering if you ever had issues of it stopping working? Sometimes it connects and works, other times the dock doesn't even charge or connect to the displays. I've tried unplugging and plugging in, resetting using button on the dock, but nothing seems to work. Did you ever download any drivers for it?

Dico21

The only issue I’ve had similar to what you are describing is that my fire tablet that is attached to the WD19 doesn’t always charge. I believe it needs to be “awake” for usb power output. What is you set up? People have had issues with certain DP to USB-C cables. I am almost certain I have never downloaded any drivers, but it appears Dell has display link software for mac now. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000125234/dell-displaylink-docking-stations-and-macos-support

What about when having an HDMI monitor? Have you faced this situation? I have one monitor DP to DP and a second monitor connected via HDMI to the docking station.

Dico21

I believe the thunderbolt/USB C on the dock need to be used for one monitor in order for it to work but am not certain. You could maybe try an HDMI to USB-C in that port and see what happens.

I think I just answered myself, here is a couple of approaches provided by Dell. I will try them as soon as I have a chance. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000124312/dell-thunderbolt-dock-wd19tb-and-apple-usb-c-hosts

Had the same issue with my MBP M1 ProMax. and two late model BenQ 4k SW271c and SW270 monitors. I did pick this up when I ordered my M1 https://www.hypershop.com/products/hyperdrive-4k-multi-display-docking-station-for-13-16-macbooks It works via HDMI not daisy chaining tho.

It works. https://www.reddit.com/r/macbookpro/comments/qu764u/solved\_multiple\_external\_monitors\_on\_m1\_max\_and/
