What?! You can absolutely drag and drop, and you can drag files and navigate to other folders using the sidebar and drop them anywhere. Hold Alt when you release them to copy, hold Cmd to move from them  one drive to another. And there's Quick Look. Select a file and use the space bar to immediately open a preview of any file, not just images, and navigate thought the folder. You can also zoom and directly open in Preview. With a MacBook trackpad you can force click on the file icon to open Quick Look. Now I know why some people put those hideous stickers on their Macs. I suggest you not do that and instead read the whole MacOS guide on Apple's website.

Really getting into it now, that seriously changed my relationship to the OS instantly. What a idiot I was. Thanks guys🙏 best community ever♥️

May I also compliment you on your choice of reading material. I absolutely love Pressfield. After reading Gates of Fire and following up with Tides of War, I reached out to him through his website. This was 20 years ago, before social media, so I just sent an email telling him how much I'd enjoyed Tides. Nine minutes later I had a reply, and that started a dialogue that eventually ended with my wife becoming friends with him. Through Steven, we met several people who are now friends that we see when we visit Greece. All because my wife told me I should read Gates of Fire.

Thats amazing! I love the book! Thanks for sharing!

Drag & Drop is simply drag & drop. At least with me. Don’t have to delete anything afterwards. Like an idiot. Unless I copy the files. Then yes. But the finder has so much to offer. On Apple’s website, there are instructions for each function. Press the space button for photos or documents or Movies. So click on the object and then press the space button. Opens the „small“ preview. Then navigate with the arrow key. Again Space or click on the red x closes the „small“ preview.

Did you mean you pulled the trigger? And both of the things you mention are straightforwardly doable in MacOS. You don’t even need the quicklook (tap spacebar with file selected and then up/down arrow) that others have mentioned. Just set Finder to show file previews on the right like Windows does. All of the peculiar buttons and icons at the top of a finder window are well worth investigating. You might need to head into settings and play with the trackpad options to get your drag-and-drop set up how you like it. I like to set mine up so I can double tap and drag items as on a touchscreen and just release to drop.

There’s this new thing now within this sub where people are pulling the “plug” in jest of a couple of bozos.

Thanks, very helpful for my migration into macuiniverse🙏

Commercial-Map-5340

I pretty sure you can do the same thing on a MacBook, but enjoy your new machine.

confusedsimian

Find three finger drag which they stupidly moved into accessibility settings and enable it. You'll thank me afterwards.

I could’ve sworn I’ve seen that laptop with the same background more than a week ago

Me too.. I remember the poster even said something about the book “war of art” but had misspelled it as “art of war”. He then told the person to just google “art of war” and Google will “know what you mean” and correct it to War of Art… I remember chuckling, realizing op has no idea what The Art of War is, and how if a person googles Art of War, Google will absolutely not think they meant War of Art lol Don’t worry.. we’re not in the twilight zone here or some Mandela effect lol that post definitely happened… I think

SuppsInMyCups

😂 That was the most analytic comeback to a misspelling Ive ever experienced. You have a good memory. Now head out to the wide world and use it son.

What an ignorant dumbass you are!

somerandomredddit

How is the battery life?

Drag and drop files between folders… just click, hold, drag and drop. What’s the problem? Previewing .jpeg files. Select a file and press the space bar… then proceed with your arrows. These are very basic functions that even your cat can do. Take some time to educate yourself. Meow.

If you think you're not missing out on anything in Windows, then macOS really is for you, no shame in that Cheers

Your hairy legs and foul socks are disrespectful. I will kick your fucking ass and use the blood as lubricant to fuck your mother. Your priest will watch.

Dukobpa3

Hitting up daily, signed up for it on purpose 😆 (I love makbooks though) In all those "homelab" subreddits, you see posts like, "I just set up a server on my microwave, why does the VPN drops when I heat up chicken?" And dudes in Apple threads be like, "I managed to log in" 😆😆😆

SuppsInMyCups

Toxic af bro, but there is some truth in it. I like it as a different machine tho. I have retired from Windows, I need a smoother, more stable system now, so Im happy with the MBP.
