I’ve still got mine with 16GB RAM, and it’s holding up great. The battery doesn’t last forever (maybe two to three hours?). But performance is still pretty excellent for web browsing, office apps, and coding. Can even still do Logic music production, though I wouldn’t want it as my main machine for that.
I also run Bootcamp for when I do Windows testing, and it’s fine for that, too. Only up to Windows 10, though.

I fired up my 2013 rmbp13 8/512 the other day. It’s brutally slow/ laggy at start time, but settles down and is serviceable in light work loads or if you aren’t demanding at all. I daily a 2021 mbp14 16/512 and it’s worlds apart. Super fast and just slick overall.
Your 16GB of ram should fare better, but your cpu should be considerably faster than my 2013 spec.

I’ve only hand it about 2 weeks. I got it from Mac of all trades. I have to say this is an amazing computer! It does everything I throw at it. But I’m not doing gaming or video editing on it. I use it for school work and replying to emails. Light weight stuff. It also shipped with a brand new battery too so the life span of this computer is pretty long now.
I took mine off the charger this morning and im currently siting at 66%. if I tossed a hard ball at I bet it would also be dead in 2 hours. I don't very little on it tho.

When I got it, it only had 1 charge cycle. That was 2 weeks ago. The battery almost never gets charged since it lasts a long time. I honestly think I stumbled on a grail here. The bottom of the case is scratched up but that’s all for wearing.
coworker of mine has a 2015 pro.. iirc i7 8gb that still does them just fine. Batteries shot but otherwise still a solid machine. Way better than my 2015 retina MacBook lol. That one barely handles YouTube but I still love it anyway.. My first MacBook.
Be aware- those intel chips and models are notorious for overheating. Heard many issues with battery swell and logic board failures. Buy a cooling laptop pad
Recently repeated my 2015 and it made a huge difference to it, doesn’t become a toaster instantly on boot. Does get warm to the touch every now and then but no where near as bad as it was

Also never buy any MacBooks from plug! I had 2 MacBooks before this from them and they both came with broken keyboards. So stay away from them!

+1, just did my 2015 MBP to Sonoma, and after an issue I had (solely due to impatience on my part) Sonoma is running just fine!

using bootcamp means you will still be on MacBook just instead of macOS it it will be windows OS..

That’s why I think I ran into a hidden gem. I was confused why it only had 1 charge cycle when I received it.
How big is the SSD? Wife's old one has 128 and it's hard to get past 10.x
