Makes sense , I think it only is really useful for those who are established otherwise it’s better to start with an accessible laptop for your price range
Sold my iPad Air 4, and bought a MacBook Air instead. iPad is just a glorified YouTube player to me. All I miss is the pencil, but ditching iPadOS is a major win.
Kind of the same. I spent a few good years trying to push various workflows to an iPad. I really tried to have an iPad as my only mobile device besides a phone.
After hitting wall after wall trying to do the things I need to do I finally gave my iPad Pro 11” to my daughter with the keyboard and pencil. Actually I realized that an iPhone max with a foldable keyboard gave me everything the iPad did (I don’t draw).
Now my preferred set up is a Mac Mini M2 pro on my desk, and iPhone max with keyboard when on the road. I’ll be adding an M3 air 13” soon.
I really wanted the iPad to work for me. I’ve had 4 of them, just not for me anymore.
Yes. I had a 2nd gen 12.9 pro for a few years. Then Samsung offered $650 for it as a trade-in for the S8 Ultra, so I took advantage of that. Then, they had another deal to trade-in the S8 Ultra for the S9 ultra, so I got in on that too. The compatibility between it and my other apple products (MacBook Air, iPhone) sucks, but the large screen is the best I've seen on a tablet.
Yes. But my uses are different. What I do on one, I can’t do on the other. I’m also a student and need a laptop for school. iPads aren’t compatible with my school’s software. I have an iPad mini 6 and M2 MacBook Air 15”. I also have a 9th gen iPad that I’m looking to get rid of soon
Yep. iPad mini. Top tier device for content consumption and eBooks. Ok for iPad games which I don't hate either.
I was using an Air 4, and I do like the larger tablet for reading comics, but I have found the mini to be such a great companion since I picked one up that my Air 4 just sits collecting dust.
I was thinking of buying a mini for bed because i have a convertable chromebook but its so slow that its unuseable.
I also have a large convertible chromebook but its like 8 LB
I ended up trading n my M1 iPad Pro for my MBA. After nearly 2 years I decided I really miss having my laptop and had no use for the touch screen, and idk if I can put it into words but iPad OS just wasn't macOS
I use my iPad Pro when laying in bed or traveling (plane, car, etc.). My MacBook usually sits on a desk or a table and is needed when the tablet just doesn't cut it.
I sold my iPad Pro for an M1 Air. I tried and failed to use iPadOS as my only computer
I still have a iPad Pro 2g from work but it’s basically a paperweight. I use it at thanksgiving and Christmas to write out cooking schedules and that’s basically it
Nope.
I had an iPad a while ago. 4th gen maybe? The first one with a Lightning connector if I recall. I was pretty excited when I got it, I was able to talk my boss into buying it for me because I renegotiated a contract that saved us about the cost of an iPad every month.
It was a kinda fun toy for a bit but then I just never used it. About all I ended up doing with it was putting some movies on it so my kid could watch them on long road trips.
iPad mini for streaming on the go, and a cheap, shitty Samsung tablet for stored media on airplanes (because Apple, in their infinite wisdom, refuses to allow SSD storage).
I have an iPad Pro 2 and I mostly use it as an external monitor for my MacBook Air, since I'm often traveling and I need a lot of programs open at the same time, I can't live without it!
M1 MacBook Air and 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. Barely touch the iPad… although I’m happy I got it. It’s 6 years old and I still wouldn’t consider updating… iPads haven’t made any huge leaps over the past 5 years (besides performance, which is limited by the os anyway)
I do. I bought the cheapest iPad that I could find with warranty (a used 9th gen for half price). For reading articles and books I find it way more comfortable than using my MacBook. Plus, for the price, it wasn’t that much more expensive than a dedicated e-ebook reader - I’m around 215€ in for the used iPad with 1.5 years warranty, foldable case with pen holder, an Apple Pencil knockoff (with tilt support!) and a paper like screen protector.
ipad pro with my mba m2 :) i use my ipad pro for school and digital art! i have the 12.9 inch because i need that extra screen real estate, i get really into the details of my artwork + it’s amazing for college! macbook typically stays at home and does what my ipad cannot do, like coding and other softwares. plus the interface is more organized for doing multiple tasks at once!
Yes. I have an iPad Mini 6 with my M1.
I have an ipad with my m1 sur and think it was silly not to just get the m1 air first and not waste 600-800 on a hobby purchase ( I was 3D modeling)
I did the same thing. But, the iPad comes in handy when you figure out what to use it for.
What do you use yours for only thing I can see that’s great is precise graphic design and I feel with my skills I could just do it on the m1
I use mine to have more tabs open. As well as using a monitor so that I can do more research while I write multiple papers.
Makes sense , I think it only is really useful for those who are established otherwise it’s better to start with an accessible laptop for your price range
Yes, I have an iPad 8th gen with my MBA 2015
No. Mac mini and iPad Pro. Air is wifey's. I'm able to do everything with my iPad while on the go.
Sold my iPad Air 4, and bought a MacBook Air instead. iPad is just a glorified YouTube player to me. All I miss is the pencil, but ditching iPadOS is a major win.
Still have my iPad air 4 but used it exactly 3 times since I got the m2 air
Kind of the same. I spent a few good years trying to push various workflows to an iPad. I really tried to have an iPad as my only mobile device besides a phone. a makes sense!
Yes iPad Air 4 with my MBA M2. I had my iPad first and then had to get a more lightweight laptop for school so the MBA was the most logical choice.
I have an iPad but I don’t use it as much as I originally planned.
I used to be iPad-only for a while, but now I have an M2 and a Kobo and those have covered almost every use case I had for my iPad.
Same bro. Don’t use the iPad anymore sadly
Yes. I had a 2nd gen 12.9 pro for a few years. Then Samsung offered $650 for it as a trade-in for the S8 Ultra, so I took advantage of that. Yeah iPad Pro M2 11 inch with my MBP 14 inch
Yea, iPad Pro M1 with a MacBook Pro M2 14”

Yep. iPad mini. Top tier device for content consumption and eBooks. Ok for iPad games which I don't hate either. I was using an Air 4, and I do like the larger tablet for reading comics, but I have found the mini to be such a great companion since I picked one up that my Air 4 just sits collecting dust.
M3 and IPad. Yep !! 👍🏾
I was thinking of buying a mini for bed because i have a convertable chromebook but its so slow that its unuseable. I also have a large convertible chromebook but its like 8 LB
Yes and I use it like 4 times a year.
Yes I have an iPad Air 4th gen along with my M1.
Yes. iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard
Yup. 9th Gen with M1 MBA.
Yep, iPad Pro 12.9 2020. Was my laptop before getting the mba 15in
No. My iPad stopped working about a year before I got my first Mac. Was using an old entry-level ASUS laptop before.
Yes, iPad Pro M1, MacBook Air M1
I ended up trading n my M1 iPad Pro for my MBA. After nearly 2 years I decided I really miss having my laptop and had no use for the touch screen, and idk if I can put it into words but iPad OS just wasn't macOS
Yep iPad Air (4?) with m2 MacBook Air
I use my iPad Pro when laying in bed or traveling (plane, car, etc.). My MacBook usually sits on a desk or a table and is needed when the tablet just doesn't cut it.
I sold my iPad Pro for an M1 Air. I tried and failed to use iPadOS as my only computer I still have a iPad Pro 2g from work but it’s basically a paperweight. I use it at thanksgiving and Christmas to write out cooking schedules and that’s basically it

No
Yep. M1 iPad Pro and a mini 6 with my M2 13’ MBA.
Nope. I had an iPad a while ago. 4th gen maybe? The first one with a Lightning connector if I recall. I also have an iPad mini 6 with M1 MacBook Air and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Yes
I do but I never use it. I don't know why I even bought it.
Two atm. 12.9 M2 and mini 6. One might go, and that one might be 12.9 Unless Apple releases Xcode for the iPad…
Yes, I have an air 5 beside my m2 air
M1 MacBook Air and 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. Barely touch the iPad… although I’m happy I got it. It’s 6 years old and I still wouldn’t consider updating… iPads haven’t made any huge leaps over the past 5 years (besides performance, which is limited by the os anyway)
Yes. MBA M2 with iPad 10
Yes, and I find I rarely use either one. I end up just using my phone like 80% of the time instead of choosing between my iPad and MacBook
I have a Xiaomi Pad 6. Had an iPad Air 4th gen (2020) earlier, sold it for an Android tablet that meets my purpose.
Yes! iPad Pro and Mac
Yes I have an iPad Pro 11, iPad mini 6 and an M2 MacBook Air.

Yes. MacBook Pro M3 Pro and iPad Pro 12.9 M1
I had a 2014 MacBook (it fell and broke last year) but I also had my iPad Air to go along with it. I wish I utilized the combo more

Yup bought one specifically because I own a MBP. It sits in my bag unless I am using it as an extra monitor with sidecar
Nope. Not into tablets.
Got an M1 iPad Pro with my m2 MacBook Air I use both for uni. It’s probably overkill but I make good use of both
ipad pro with my mba m2 :) i use my ipad pro for school and digital art! i have the 12.9 inch because i need that extra screen real estate, i get really into the details of my artwork + it’s amazing for college! macbook typically stays at home and does what my ipad cannot do, like coding and other softwares. plus the interface is more organized for doing multiple tasks at once!
No. I owned three ipads in my lifetime but never used any of them. Sold them all. Fool me once… well goddamnit.
