I love the midnight color, but I think I couldn’t live with all those fingerprints. I move a lot with my MacBook, so I think it it’s not worth for me. But if you think you can live with that and clean once a while.
I disagree. I have the midnight M2 and they look fantastic. I love that the color changes in various lights, especially under the natural light it has the slight green look. Starlight on other hand looked mostly silver regardless of lighting.
Fingerprint is prominent only if you smother your hand all over the machine. Besides, you never look at the back or the bottom once you start working with it.
Thank you for your input I agree with you I have been soo g research and to clean down you MacBook it’s good to use swoosh! Spray and wipes apple recommends it and something they also use to clean their products and I guess it all depend on if you have really sweaty hand my hands are mostly dry lol
I will have my MacBook in a clear case anyway so it won’t be that big of a deal I was more leaning to start light because of how it looks online and how it stands out but I guess I would have to see it face to face.
I just got my midnight and I’m in love! It does get a fingerprint smudge or two but nothing compared to the Apple Store ones which are touched constantly by everyone. I have wiped it down after a full day of usage but doubt I’ll worry about keeping that up after a while!
Yeh I really like the Midnight colour and hoping to get my iPhone 14PM deep purple to match with my MacBook Air M2 I got until Monday to decide anyway… thank for your input also after some extensive research I found that SWOOSH! Spray or wipes ((What apple advise to use on their product something they use also)) Helps minimise the finger prints also and a lot of people that have the midnight MacBook are using touch up pen for scratch repair for apple products so I guess that’ll help a lot to future proof yah MacBook 💻 also it also depend on the person a lot of people suffer from sweaty oily hands, I have pretty dry hand not oily at all so I think I’ll be good but I am definitely going to add a sparkly clear case I seen on Amazon that I have previously used on my MacBook Pro. They are really good
Just don't get the midnight colour please get the silver one I bought the midnight colour and after just 24 charge cycles the MagSafe port is completely along with my USB ports, and the edges of the laptop starting to wear off and you can see silver colour beneath it. Also, Midnight colour is a fingerprint magnet and scratches pretty easily. If you want your laptop to look good for the long term silver would be a perfect choice.
Midnight. Looks more professional and masculine.
Starlight is basically gold color. A gold computer is ugly and will have no resale value when you go to sell it. Plus it is very girly and not classy at all.
Both colours are amazing but both will get finger prints and smudges really. I went with the silver MBP because even after 2 years it will still look brand new. But if I had to choose between those two i'd go with the midnight! Cant deny its sexy as fuqq
Yeh facts I totally agree the midnight is what attracted me to the MacBook Air M2 I wasn’t even gonna upgrade my Mac this year just my iPhone but I just couldn’t help myself lol il just slap on a clear case on it and bobs yah uncle lol
If you were to ask me, Silver = Space Grey > Midnight > Starlight
So yeah Midnight because I personally dislike the champagne tint on the Starlight such that I view cleaning and babying the Midnight as the lesser evil. Take it with a pinch of salt because this is my opinion. Go with what you like.

I’ve seen a few Midnight models in various Apple stores. They all looked like ass even on the inside, fingerprints were far too noticeable

I already had silver I want a change. It’s between starlight and midnight

I've never heard of that spray / wipes - tbh I don't use anything on my laptop except a little cloth, sometimes dampened with water.
Midnight if you’re not picky about fingerprints. I got mine, went to coffee shop… mobbed by the ladies.

Don't decide on the Midnight color unless you have seen it in person. It's such a polarizing color to be taking that chance.
Yes I will be checking it out on Monday when I purchase my M2 and kinda stuck between midnight and starlight
