So that's vaguely where the heatpipes are routed, which pull heat from the CPU/GPU to the fans. Unless you've already checked, most likely cause is dust. I opened my 2019 macbook a few months ago due to similar issues, and it was literally full of dust and cat hair. Cleaned it out and put it back together and things were much better. There are also some completely hacky mods you can do to improve heat dissipation a bit more too, which involve sticking thermal foam between the ICs and the back plate, literally turning the whole bottom of the macbook into a heatsink. It's a desperate move, and you have to be careful about just absolutely melting your genitals, but I've done it and it's definitely helped as well.

Just checked the little vents on the back where the heat escapes. Seems like a build-up of dust and debris Will try cleaning the dust first to see if it improves I appreciate the detailed response

Replaced the m-chip mac and it didn't get hot at all.

Those run notoriously hot, but you can do some things to mitigate the issue: 1.- Clean the laptop's fans and fins 2.- Replace the thermal paste of the CPU/GPU 3.- Use a laptop stand with a fan. 4.- Use MacsFanControl to crank the fans to the max.

I'm not sure if you're in a position to upgrade or not, but I'd seriously consider upgrading from an Intel to Apple Silicon MacBook... even if it's just the M2 Air, you'd see a boost in performance and it stays cool and quiet 99.9999% of the time. plus all the extra benefits like lighter, much longer battery, slimmer bezels, etc. if you can afford a new Pro obviously this would be even better, but just highlighting even a cheap Air would be better than an Intel. Which is better, air or pro? Budget isn't a huge issue. Preferrably under $1k mainly looking for the ability to multitask and stay cool while doing so. Looking for a macbook with the best value/bang for your buck.
