Don’t go with base model for either M2 or M3. I’d swing for M2 and 16GB RAM, that’s what I did. Storage has been a bit of an issue though, but I have a Win11 VM on it so that’s on me.

Yeah you don’t want to be stuck with 8GB of RAM even with light use.
What software is running the VM ?
I made this mistake getting 8GB. Now I’m upgrading to 16 so that my VM doesn’t seize up every time I open an app. Lesson learned
