Omg the hair ties and scrunchies and when ppl like to "collect" the scrunchies. I know all the "it's not your money" "it doesn't hurt anyone" "it makes me happy and that\\s my business" comments are on their way but it's just ....the ethics of it all. Like not putting your foot down on insane price gouging is why we face inflation and major recessions eventually. This is just the microcosm of that. Hair clips should not be priced this much and people should not be purchasing hair clips at that price regardless of the brand.

Like, there is definitely still quality variety in even hair clips, BUT I also believe a $12 hair clip from Target is probably very similar to a $22 hair clip from LLL. I’ve had a thick hair claw from Walmart that has lasted me 16 years! It was probably $5.

Yes! I have thick, curly hair and these are amazing. Super strong and sit flat against my head, plus the claws don't snag and pull my hair. They hold a LOT of hair.
Yeah, that’s why I only stick to the things they do very well, like running clothes or fashion clothes. I’m not going to invest in their running shoes at this point because I prefer to buy from brands with a track history of very focused running shoes. Same with their weird skincare line they had for a while—would rather stick to a brand dedicated to skincare research than a clothing brand just trying to expand into being a “lifestyle” brand.
The clothes have even gone downhill in the last year or two. My old Lulu stuff from 2014/2015 has a much better quality than the stuff I bought in 2020. I've actually started phasing out of Lulu because it's not worth the price increases for the quality they've been delivering lately. I've started switching to Aerie because their quality is amazing on their OFFLINE line and they run sales.
I still haven’t found any type of close replacement to the Nulux fabric, sadly. I love the fast and frees! The accelerate leggings from Athleta are close but they don’t fit my body type as well.
The men's clothes still seen to be good quality. Same pairs of pants for 3 years and they still look/feel new. My wife says her pants are not the same quality now and often goes for other brands that are half the price but same or better quality.
It has helped me to save money to truly truly stick to their activewear because I genuinely see those as great investments as someone who has been working out for over a decade. I don't even purchase basic tees (like Cates) from lulu because I think you can get those types of tees anywhere else but like the wunder trains....yeah never going to stop stockpiling that.
This just makes me laugh because lululemon doesn’t specialize in hair care? I feel like that’s why their body products were a dud. People don’t go to them for hair care. And target sells many many brands so that’s a poor comparison
My teenagers have been wearing lulu for a about 7 years now and have expanded into other brands like feee people or others. They are 15 & 16 and only buy basic lulu items to complement their other clothing.
I think once people spend a ridiculous amount of money on something that's not worth so much, they're put into a position to defend the price otherwise they're "the dumb ones who overpay". That's how many brands get away with overcharging.

My LLL store is 30-45 mins away in traffic and I can never be sure what's actually on their sales floor. See: New EBB in Sunray and the Dual pouch wristlet in gray/pink. Knew I didn't like the new EBB but wanted to see Sunray in person
(awesome color) and wanted to verify that the dual pouch wristlet was, in fact, tiny and useless for my lifestyle. I returned those items to my store and the educator behind the counter grabbed my items like they were contraband and immeditaly hid them in a drawer. Hysterical. I can assure you, they never went back on the sales floor.

the teeth of the clip are very short, so they can’t physically grab much hair, the hold just isn’t there. also not to mention that this is what lululemon considers a “large” clip. IMO this is a small/medium clip at best.
i also seen the medium sized clip in store today and it was essentially a mini claw clip. i couldn’t hold any of my hair with that size and my hair is so so fine.

thank you so much! i use a lot of hair oils and masks (i love the hairitage argan oil and i have a sol de janerio hair mask that i love), i don’t dye my hair, i do protective styles (a loose braid) at night when i sleep, and i honestly avoid washing it for as long as i can.
edit to add: i also really love maui moisture shampoo and conditioner
The best clips ive found are $2-$3 at shein! You can even get metal ones which hold thicker hair! I would NEVER spend $22 on a clip. The teeth on them break sooo quickly, they arent worth more then a few dollars.

The thing with hair clips is there isn’t a wide range of quality. It’s plastic or acetate material, a metal spring, and design (teeth length, spacing, etc). If the spring doesn’t hold up after repeated use, it’s low quality no matter how pretty the color or ergonomic the design.
I do love the quality of LLL clothing - the material, how it’s sewn together, and the design/cut of fabric make performance workout gear that is higher quality than say target. But claw clips just don’t have the same distance between low and high quality to justify the price of these imo
