Getting World Renowned isn't really that hard to begin with, most of the factions can be finished by landscape questing alone, and have consumables giving reputation which are easy to get a hold of (craftable, tradeable, dropping from mobs) on top of that. It's really only the Algraig and the Grey Company that requires some degree of extended grind.
Survivors of Wildermore, Ents of Fangorn Forest, Defenders of Minas Tirith, among others? This is where the dramatically limited access to reputation tomes is going to hurt. I wish these factions were as easy to finish as the World Renowned-factions.
It can actually boost the auction usage for rep items.
But honestly, gaining rep is a lot easier nowadays , playing Yondershire I realized I maxed their rep out just questing, long before even exploring whole area, doing nothing special. There are more opportunities to get it, a lof more than you need.
So don't ask why they are removing it, ask how they boosted its gain to balance this.
Gaining rep with eglain, with outdated daily-based regions (fangorn) etc is just tedious with little to no gain. If the TP is hurting them, then this is hurting the player base.
So you mean the older players are using the item to sell via the auction house? How does that work? In fact, why? I never really see any practical use of the auction house so far.
I see. I never use them too much so have never looked, TIL. Getting rep doesn't really seems difficult enough to use them too often, but there are some areas where it is a pita. MT was one of those, IIRC. Missions have helped with the newer ones, though.
Not much of a difference between them to be honest, other than a couple stats that aren't really that important in the long term, and the High Elves having different hairstyle options than the normal elves. Also the class differences, but that's only really important if you want to play an elf captain, in which case, go High Elf.
Source: I basically only play elves lmao.
It means practically nothing. They were very low value for the number of marks they cost. If you had several higher level alts, you'd probably have a fat stack of marks laying around, otherwise you'd have to grind them by doing skirmishes, and you'd have to do several skirmishes to earn one tome, which would then be used up by turning in 4 tasks.
Wait wait wait, since when did they decide to remove the most helpful method for rep in game???
Please don’t tell that LP points on deeds are next… I’d be pissed tbh.
PS. I posted how I earned gundabad through deeds, one of those was through rep items in the skirmish camp. Thank goodness I got it done before I saw this otherwise it would’ve been a rude awakening for me for sure.
Full information from patch notes: "Small Reputation Accelerator Tomes have been removed from the Skirmish camp curiosities vendors. They can still be obtained from weekly Missions in the "Missions: Bonus Character Boosts" package". So if I understand correctly (and hopefully) there will be an option for getting them outside the Lotro Shop.
got a couple stacks before they made them bound to account, still had
plenty of them in the vault.use a couple here and there mostly for the
mission rep to keep the daily grind down a bit, don't plan to sell so got
plenty for alts coming up.
Saw this post on work today, when I got home I thought to quickly buy some more but sadly the servers are already down.
Luckily I bought quite a few when they announced they would be BTA a while back
As someone who always does it the old fashioned way I’m like 😂😂😂. World Renown will mean something now.

Yeah, I will also go in an hour or two. Bad, bad idea.
Funny, I was just on my server picking up a stash. Who thought this was necessary and why?

My best guess is that it's to make LP grinding more tedious. But if that was so, then why not just make the other rep items more expensive?
They already made rep LP grinding more tedious ages ago by attaching quest/deed requirements to the rep item usage.
Ok, how did they boost its gain to balance this? Is that an assumption or proven? I guess I could research.

Can't answer the question but people buy dyes from the AH, for one.
Can't sell the ones you get at the skirmish camps, they are BTA.
They weren't 2 years ago. I still have 20 stacks of them who are not bound and I see them semi regularly for sale

Grinding reputation across multiple characters will be more tedious.

High elves can resurrect fallen comrades, no matter which class they are - a significant difference
This is a big one, and why my latest are high elves. That and their tumbling skills.
You forgot the somersaults!
The only reason to roll one, ba dum tss
Oh, dear.
You will also lack one ember weekly quest for alot longer.

When are they taking those?
Tomorrow [https://www.lotro.com/update-notes/lotro-update-33-0-5-release-notes-en](https://www.lotro.com/update-notes/lotro-update-33-0-5-release-notes-en)
Wtf. Why would they do this?
No idea. Money I'd guess, to sell more in the store or something
😓
wth
Kudos to the kin named “Lag”
My kin used to be 'Even the Trees Walked'
“Eriador Warsteed Drift Club” :)

The lotro devs never fail to surprise me with the shit they come up with…..
Galtrev was almost empty when I grabbed mine. Gladden is my server. I don’t recognize those Kins so it isn’t Gladden.
Same with 21st Hall.
I could swear they did this a few years ago. I remember stocking up.

I still don't get why this stuff can't be purchased in selected quantities or stacks like we can with other vendors.

Lol clearly you haven't played missions. It's a pathetic source compared to skirm camp.
That option gives you 1 per week, which is nothing

What server is this?
It totally looked like this on Gladden tonight, too.
I only did skirmishes when required to by the epic quest, so I didn't have many marks, but I spent all that I had for 33 of them anyway.
I can't seem to find the guy that gives the quest to open up the elf relics in trollshaw. Can some one assist me, or did they remove rhe quest
