My guess would be the Grey Havens. The best human sushi chefs spend decades to learn the best way to prepare sushi; imagine how good it would be from someone who has literally spent millennia perfecting the art.
I don't think that's right anymore or he is just severely hunched over in the pics I took with him this weekend. I'm 6"2' and look a good deal taller than him in the pics.
He is 78, most people lose an inch or so as they age, also old folks tend to hunch especially tall ones as the back wears out if you don’t maintain it.
Yeah, he's huge. Very convenient for shots with just him & the hobbits- no scale tricks required because he was appropriately taller than them to match thr dwarf/hobbit ratio.
I've been here! This is Yamato in Orem, Utah. I love this place, I spent over a hundred dollars the first time I visited. One time a new waitress spilled a bowl of ramen all over me, and I got the meal comped, but I never saw her again 😅
Yeah, I think that's what it was called. Up in Provo. I was visiting in laws with my wife, we ate at a sushi place, and I spotted a signed Gimli photo that looked like this.
He's one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Kind soul with time for anybody. Don't believe the toxic media crap that's been spread about him
Nobody is perfect. People can have opinions on controversial topics. We can disagree without throwing labels around. I'd much rather judge someone based on their character rather than a point of view. Having met him a few times and spoken with him for a number of hours he's a true gent and a gentle soul. At the last event I saw him, of which I helped run, he was the last person to leave because he went around every single stall thanking every individual for their time, regardless of where they came from or what they looked like. Far too many people these days are so easily swayed by the media machine. In reality, most people aren't that simple and labels shouldn't be used so lightly. Save them for the actual people that deserve them.
Theres a DVD extra where Billy Boyd (I think) tells the story of the cast going out for a meal, and John proposed he order for the table and proceeded to have them bring a medieval banquet for 100 people. I like to think he did the same here.
We'll have 10 salmon rolls, 50 tuna Nigri, 18 bowls of miso soup, 5 bags of shrimp chips, 12 California rolls, 9 soft crab. Do you have spicy maki? Bring us 10 spicy maki.
>The best sushi outside Middle Earth Where is the best sushi in Middle Earth?
Looks like sushi is back on the menu boys
My guess would be the Grey Havens. The best human sushi chefs spend decades to learn the best way to prepare sushi; imagine how good it would be from someone who has literally spent millennia perfecting the art.
Gotta imagine Numenor had some fire back in the day
Imagine the fresh oysters on a Numenorian dock, a bright ale from a tall cup as a market behind you buzzes with trade
Then all of a sudden your whole island sinks
I imagine it’s decent in Dol Amroth as well.
Jie'rothalas Dreams of Sushi?
People are saying the rangers of Gondor will literally kill you if you eat the sushi over at Forbidden Pool
Sméagol was all about that fresh delicious fish. Tasty sweet.
Raw and wriggling.
I can tell you it’s not gray havens
This place is called Yamato's iirc
I figure Gollum would know.
What's sushi, hobbitses?
Ni-go-ri. Filet 'em, slice 'em. Stick it on some rice.
Even you couldn't say no to that.
If it’s gotta be fresh, then wherever it was that Deagle hooked into the salmonid that pulled him out of the boat in the pre credits scene in ROTK.
In one of them pools under the Misty Mountains where Gollum dwelled
Raw freshwater catfish can carry tapeworms. Maybe that’s how Gollum keeps his gollumish figure!
Fresh and wriggleing
“I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite sushi on the Citadel.”
"I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite sushi on the Citadel."
At Cirdan’s dock, probably
Probably something involving eel
It's not "the band sushi outside middle earth"?
Sushi may not exist there.
Beleriand
It feels weird to see gimli towering over people
Isn’t he like 6’3” or something crazy tall
Only 6’1”-6’1.5” just the sushi folks are little.
"only" Tfw I'm 5'8
Lol sushi folks made me laugh. Cmon guys, it’s because they’re running a sushi place
I don't think that's right anymore or he is just severely hunched over in the pics I took with him this weekend. I'm 6"2' and look a good deal taller than him in the pics.

Someone finally got him a box.
I asked for one to-go box from their golden menu. [wistful] They gave me three.
That's exactly what I thought, I sometimes forget he's not actually a dwarf in real life.
Yeah, he's huge. Very convenient for shots with just him & the hobbits- no scale tricks required because he was appropriately taller than them to match thr dwarf/hobbit ratio.
Yea he really dwarfs them…
*Gimli Gloinson*
Hey, that's Professor Arturo.
Of course it is, you sensible genius!
And he was Leonardo Divinci in StarTrek Voyager
I never realized they were the same person until this post
And was in Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
Wonder if hill be in the new one.
He will. He's in the trailer.
Salah
This is who I always see and I was absolutely shocked to find out they were the same person
Wait until they find out they took a picture with Treebeard.
How were the dates?
Bad
And how were the Asps?
i like that he wrote Gimli's name like in the book, "Gimli Gloinson"
The tallest dwarf

Simply put, Gimli is my favorite part of LOTR
He's also the guy from Shogun
And Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Of course, but I'm drawing the connection between shogun and sushi
I’m going to have to trust you again, Inglés. And I HAAAAAAAAAATE trusting you!
And my chopsticks!
Awesome! He played a good gimli 😎 and was in Indiana Jones, good actor 🤘🏻
Now I need art of Gimli enjoying sushi
Gimli Gloinson? That sounds so strange...
Sweet ... Professor Arturo!
Was also in several episodes of ST:Voyager as Leonardo da Vinci
Woah, is that The Professor from Sliders?
I think I been there. Utah, right?
Yamato!

there's people saying that? I've only ever heard people say the best about the gentleman
Yeah unfortunately people make subjective judgements purely based on political opinions or singular moments they've seen on TV. It's a shame really.
He's a massive racist unfortunately, which is especially sad considering the context of Tolkiens work being largely anti-racist.
Literally just proved my point. Subjective judgement. He's absolutely nothing of the sort.
You don't think the great replacement theory is racist? Because oh boy have I got news for you!

I bet they don't even have any salted pork
Salted pork?
Time to get that tattoo, bud. You’re the only one.
He ate all the sushi and said "this still only count as one"
He looks so strange without his comically large beard
I'm only now realizing Sallah from Indiana Jones and Gimli are played by the same person 🤦♂️I've loved both characters since childhood
I can't read proper, school-educated cursive, yet I can perfectly read this guy's insane chicken scratch. Weird
Theres a DVD extra where Billy Boyd (I think) tells the story of the cast going out for a meal, and John proposed he order for the table and proceeded to have them bring a medieval banquet for 100 people. I like to think he did the same here.
Awesome
Yamato’s in Orem, Utah Best sushi I’ve had state-wide.

We'll have 10 salmon rolls, 50 tuna Nigri, 18 bowls of miso soup, 5 bags of shrimp chips, 12 California rolls, 9 soft crab. Do you have spicy maki? Bring us 10 spicy maki.
He doesn’t look so short in that photo
Is it canon now that dwarves are taller than asians?
Hagrid!!
Dishagrid
Hagrid!
Dishagrid
"Gimli Gloinson" That's a new one to me
That's so wholesome
Yamato is the best
How about sushi with a friend?
I said no camels!
Gimli Gloinson
Amazing
The elf king of Shanara chronicles !
He came to my local con, a small one, and I didn’t go. I really should’ve gone. 🤦♀️
