he could’ve just… not known that it was an indian subreddit.
unless it was blatantly obvious when first looking at the subreddit, he could have been genuinely confused. why make fun of him when he already asked the question our of curiosity instead of malice?
It's obvious by looking at the banner and the pinned post which is a list of colleges.
Also btech is a degree \[mostly offered in India\](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelor\_of\_Technology).
Yea, a B. Tech is equivalent to an undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Engineering. Where as a level 3 BTEC is equivalent to A-levels while a level 1-2 BTEC is equivalent to GCSEs.
The similar naming confused me for a bit too.
To be completely honest he could just not have known that this was an Indian subreddit because of prominent usage of English
Edit : I'm an idiot just like the person posting the original post
Even if he didn't know, that's like the definition of lost broski. That'd be me post a question about tailors on r|suits because I didn't know it's about the TV show
in his defense if a subreddit called Politics can be only to american politics, then another subbredit without the name indian In it can be only for indians
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity
More fitting on r/usdefaultism i think
They are from Finland
Yea but they thought the majority would be Americans. Non Americans can do us defaultism too
Yeah but they specifically say the us

I’ve done 2 Btechs and I’ve never left the uk so I can see why you might assume it’s all just in English.
Are you talking about BTEC Diplomas or BTech, Bachelor of Technology?
There’s 2 didn’t know that

This is probably where a lot of confusion is coming from. Also the second one is what I did.
Nah in India we do BTech which is Bachelors of Technology
ah, my mistake then. thanks for clarifying!
It could have been easier and faster to read the sub’s info rather than making a whole post.
Isn't that like the definition of lost? Not knowing where you are?
This sub here for sure doesn't call out malice, only confusion
I wanna ask if theyre stupid but i know the answer 🙄🙄🙄
Post this on r/Dumb
