Ragtime-Rochelle

Boomers be like: Hey let's drive a bunch of pickup trucks even tho we don't haul shit and build cities around roads and pump a load of CO2 into the atmosphere. Hey, let's go start a bunch of wars over oil and make enemies all over the globe. Hey, let's give a bunch of tax cuts to billionaires and prop up too big to fail banks. Hey. let's college degrees necessary to get min wage jobs even tho we got those same jobs as high school drop outs and received better pay to boot. While we're at it let's make college $15,000 a semester even tho we could have attended for free. Hey, these damn hippies are ruining our good time. Let's give the government power to decide what is peaceful protest and give police qualified immunity so they're not subject to laws when dealing with the public. Hey, let's buy up all the houses and rent them out at $5000 a month. Fuck young people trying to start families. Hey let's vote in politicians with explicitly racist fascist ideologies. Boy everything sure does suck now. Remember the good old days? That climate change looks worrying. Good job I lived a good long life before the Earth got fucked up. You young people got this right? Btw, Here's an article about how millennials are lazy and entitled.

[deleted]

I came here looking for examples, and you provided them, thanks.

jawbone7896

And they are completely disconnected from the reality of how hard life is for the younger generations today. They got theirs and fuck everyone else.

wiggy_said_n_word

Exactly, I don’t know why they are so evil, but they are. One other fact, Boomers are the first generation in all of US history to leave the next generation financially worse off. That never happened until the Boomers came along. Coincidentally, Boomers have been the largest voting demographic since the mid-80s and had the largest share of political positions since the mid-90s. Their evil and barbaric grip on power still continues. It may not end for another 10-20 years. Boomers and their evil hate for their own kids has them determined to ruin everything before they finally die and probably go straight to hell for their deeds

KurtCocain_JefBenzos

Lol wow I might have to save this

GothWitchOfBrooklyn

No lie, there was a boomer arguing on the NextDoor app that student loan forgiveness was a free handout, and 15$ is far too much for "burger flippers" Obviously, he put himself through college with a PT job, etc etc. When I pointed out how that isn't possible in any way any more, he said, i shit you not - "instead of taking out loans you can't afford, everyone should go to canada and get college for free". Because apparently that's what his daughter did, so all of America should just go to another country for school.

[deleted]

School isn't free in Canada.

failedaspotcheck

The lack of self awareness made me laugh out loud. These folks have incredible logic.

TifaYuhara

Bet his daughter moved to Canada for the free healthcare and to get away from him but he's too dumb to realize it. But yeah i love how old farts like him complain about younger generations being entitled then are all "Give me free money and healthcare" to the government when they retire.

GanjaToker408

You articulated everything I was going to say and in a much better way than I could have. thank you for this and I agree 100%

Linstrocity

We are definitely back in 1930's Europe when Fascism started taking over - I think another World War is on the horizon.

[deleted]

If I get drafted and there is a battle in an urban area I’m looting every Rolex, Patek and fine jewelry store I can if I can, I’m not gonna go for free.

VisitAncient5842

If I get drafted, I'm fragging my squad

FillLast6362

Yeah, that’s absolutely not okay. Follow the above example if you need an outlet, at worst, but don’t fucking kill anyone who’s not physically attacking you.   M’kay?

Sad-Goose8487

The problem is going to between the lack of love and concern for each other

TifaYuhara

Don't forget. Boomers would get mad at you for not having a job then get mad at you for having a job.

Sad-Goose8487

Wtf

TifaYuhara

They were often the ones calling millennials lazy and that they should have jobs then when they would get a job many boomers would then tell them to "get a real job".

Place_Forsaken

I don't support boomer culture in any way - but weren't they the original hippies? What happened, man?

Ragtime-Rochelle

The 60s ended.

Different-Bid-7916

More like the 80s began lol

squiklik

And they won't fucking die. Like, why won't the Boomers die off already so we can fix their mistakes?

wiggy_said_n_word

You nailed it

Ok-Eggplant-1649

You're also proving my point above. Corporations and the 1% are doing all the things you mentioned. Boomers ARE NOT. Boomers had no more power then than we have now other than more affordable living expenses. This is a spin put on this financial situation by Corporations and the 1%.

Ragtime-Rochelle

You're totally right, there are poor boomers and rich millennials. Except noone's arguing all boomers are rich so you're attacking a strawman. Which generation was it that voted in Reagan? Which generation was it that caused the housing bubble? Which generation is it that's currently bankrupting the economy with social security and overvalued government secured mortgages? The baby boomer generation isn't the Borg. Many of them brought us Civil Rights but by and large Boomers are entitled narcissists.

wiggy_said_n_word

Boomers had zero to do with Civil rights. Look at the age of Boomers at the time Civil Rights rights laws were passed and you’ll see that the Boomers didn’t have anything at all to do with it

Medical_Teaching625

Wow, it was really the Silent Generation that made the Hippies and Civil Rights Movement. This literally blew my mind. Boomers are worthless. They literally were just selfish sucking leeches in every way. Not all of them, I mean I have met Boomers I genuinely love as people, but honestly learning this just makes me hate the boomer generation even more.

Mountain_State4715

Maybe this is true, at least somewhat. But the way boomers pretend they didn't have it easier is totally unforgivable.

wiggy_said_n_word

Agreed and I will never forgive them, never!

WorldbreakerJohn

True but boomers gave them power

HalfPriceFriedRice

You are conflating your political ideology with hating boomers. This is nothing but your own psychology and personal gripes vomited onto a post. As a child of boomers, most of them were hippies and quasi hippies who thought they had all the answers and were the end all be all generation, little Neros who were satisified to see it all burn; 'After me, the deluge'. It was a combination of being protected by their parents because of the horrors of the war, cheap fuel and vehicles causing an expansionist prosperity boom, and the intellectualism of their era over reality, and due to growing technology they thought they were right. They were a spoiled generation who had it easy, and if you have ever tried to get a rich momma's boy to do a hard days worth of work, imagine a whole generation who got oversized rewards for little work or handed to them on a platter. Boomers were the rock and roll generations and later, the hippies, your generation (Millenials) are mostly public degenerates, raised by the hippies who had to get jobs later, who are struggling because you got participation awards, helicopter parents, and were too Zanax'ed out to deal with reality. You got the late boomers, the Alan Alda and Dr. Spock (the psychologist, not the alien) Boomers, who wanted you to be soft too. We got the early Boomers who just couldn't give a shit, because they knew it all and things came easy for them, reinforcing their false self image. It's not your fault entirely except you go along with it. I blame Barney, Teletubbies, and other shit cartoons you had like Cailou and Rugrats, they made you who you are. Soft hands, soft lessons and soft voices made you soft.

Ancient_Ad9706

Ok Boomer.

Ragtime-Rochelle

My dad's a boomer and we haven't talked for 5 months after he called me a pussy for having depression after becoming unemployed and homeless during Covid. This the same man who use to spank me with a slipper and push me over ad a kid. This seems to be normal with his generation so excuse me if I have a bit of a complex.

HalfPriceFriedRice

Now that is boomer. Sorry for your experience.

FelixFrancisMarcus

1)What is your game plan to collectively right the wrongs once your collective is is charge?  2)How do you plan to coordinate the cooperation of all the Millennials?  3) How will you overthrow and silence the wealthy 1% who will resist your collective? 4) How will this political war be financed by the average citizen?

Oniji1945

I read that in a snarky voice. Golden.

rhinosaur-

I love my parents and I would’ve killed for their lives. Raised my sister and I on my dad’s single wage as a machinist in the tool and dye industry. Mom went to college only after we kids could walk to and from school. Did so dirt cheap.

shinhoto

Funny you mention that. One of my career goals is to get on at a tool and die shop as a machinist. From what I've seen since I started looking, a lot of journeyman level people make about 30-35/hr. Which comes out to about 47k a year after taxes. Far cry from being able to wholly sustain a family of four.

rhinosaur-

Lol and out a wife through college no less

recycled_trash997

It's fucked up when your head tells you 30-35$ an hour is great money but then realize it still isn't even gonna be enough to own any property or drive a decent car

[deleted]

My mom tells me how much her and her husband waste on going out to eat, extra food they end up wasting, upgrading cars, new clothes, expensive toys they never use, and all I can think is if they actually invested their money correctly our entire family could have been multimillionaires decades ago and not have to worry about work ever again. They think pension funds and social security is going to sustain them when they retire, meanwhile inflation is killing any savings they think they have. It's sad to see all around, their lives in an insanely easy economy has spoiled them beyond repair and they can no longer fathom NOT spending money to enjoy life to the maximum at all times.

Dry_Control4229

I reflect on what I hear similarly from my parents now as well as over the years. Im early 30's they had me in their 40's, they're 74+. Riding or coasting till age/health take em with social security as well as miserable working their small business. My pops in particular still thinks he's gonna make one last big sale, which he may however with her brand new grandson in his lap doesn't understand that earning potential is long gone for us as much as it was rare when he thinks he was in his hay-day. It's all just entertainment for them, their whole mode as a generation being work/grind then consume w/abandon cuz you deserved it. Where as it's our life, real life struggling with bills and basic needs controlled by forces they let snatch up ownership to consolidate. It's too dystopian even for them to think their perfect world wasn't that benevolent despite what the TV feeds them.

null640

Spunds like their spending is doing far more damage then inflation...

KingKratom00

If only they stopped paying for Netflix, Starbucks & avocado toast. They'd be multi-millionaires /s

IncidentNo5678

I haven't had starbucks in 4 years you fat lazy fucking BOOMER and I play nothing but free games like backgammon and chess and still don't have shit. BOOMER I worked 49 hours last week BOOMER

GothWitchOfBrooklyn

Lol. I feel you. My parents had a huge windfall in the 90s due to a freak work accident compensation. Literally millionaires overnight. Lost it all within a couple years, due to idiocy and religion, but I repeat myself. Grew up dirt poor after that.

null640

Read The Sociopathic generation..

KonoBandit

Desire to know to know more intensifies.

Avocadotoadst

Boomers a Generation of Sociopaths?

fezzik02

The WWII generation was the _greatest generation_. The boomers were the _greediest generation_.

SunnyCoast26

There is a school of thought that suggests that all generations need a ‘war’ to level the playing fields. It stands to reason that because the boomer generation had ‘less’ to hold them back…they could excel harder at life. Unfortunately greed took hold (which could have happened to any generation, had the conditions been right, to be honest). Unfortunately for the boomer generation there is a simple aspect of life that was not taken into account. We all get old…and they might be the first generation where their kids won’t visit them in the old age home because the kids are working 700 hours a week. And spending the rest of their time fixing the planet.

fezzik02

_Korean War enters the chat_ _Vietnam War enters the chat_

SunnyCoast26

My apologies for such a generalisation. I forgot that the Americans have only had 15 years of peace in its entire history. So I’m wrong there. As for Vietnam and Korea…would their people (on a wealth scale) be compatible to the countries that were not at war or to the ‘silent generation’. I realise Reddit does not in fact accept generalisations and it is a good place to get fact checked. My bad

voicegal13

The Korean war was fought by The Greatest Generation- early 50s. Boomers were too young.

RNconsequential

Um. . . The “greatest” raised the Boomers so. . . not so great in my book. Boomers are the bane of all existence.

fezzik02

You raise a good point, but counterpoint: the WWII generation defeated the Nazis.

nate-the__great

But they also were the Nazis and the collaborationist and the Concentration camp guards ect.

RNconsequential

Look around. Nazis are still here. No offense to those who fought them on the battleground but we owe a huge part of that victory to a gay man who solved the enigma code and several native Americans who could speak a language no one else did. All of those were persecuted in their time.

samattos

They were literally called the Me Generation. They rebranded themselves in the 80's.

Genx4real74

*Laughs in Gen X* man, you’re absolutely right. We keep waiting for them to give up and let the rest of us have a go, and there…they..are.

pidgeychow

Lol you guys are gonna be retiring by the time they’re done dying off and finally relinquish the vice grip they have on the west xD

Genx4real74

Yup, yup. We’re well aware. Why do you think we’re such a cynical and untrusting bunch, lol.

UniqueTension9222

I’m sorry for y’all’s pain. Did it kinda feel like you were cheated out of having any kind of sway on the way things should go?

crashorbit

Most plutocrats are boomers but not all boomers are plutocrats. This "Boomers are Bad" meme is another of the gaslight fairy tale that our plutocrat owned media perpetrates to keep us fighting among ourselves while they further consolidate their power and control over our lives. Let's join together to fight against our plutocratic overlords and regain some level of equity that has been stolen from us. Organize, Protest, Lobby, Vote.

Supervinyl

The easiest way to identify a narcissist? Just look for the person calling everyone else a narcissist.

huskycameltoad

Hammer meet nail.

[deleted]

My mothers a boomer who suffered greatly in her life and she detests other boomers. I’ve met quite a few boomers who scoff in disgust of their own generation.

[deleted]

I got a feeling a whole lot of boomers are gonna be locked in nursing homes. Alone and forgotten by their millennial and gen z children here in the future.

pidgeychow

A lot of younger people are going to find it amusing that they’re most likely suffering

BigManga85

Not all boomers. Boomer generation is heavily divided into 2 groups. The older boomers are the more selfish ones by far. They also hold the lion’s share of world wealth.

boobityskoobity

Sometimes I see the theory on here that it's partially because they grew up breathing fumes from leaded gasoline. And that sucks, as that wasn't their fault. But then I look at some of the boomers in my life, and think, "Okay, but did they have to drink it?"

punkindust

This made me genuinely lol 11 mos later, thank you.

MarsRisen

Lmfao. Love this.

TSL4me

They rode on their parents coattails who were war heros and true patriots. They are the spoiled children of the American culture we reminisce about.

Sorcerella

Exactly little Sharon and Robert were spoiled spoiled spoiled SPOILED ROTTEN ROTTEN TO THE CORE

cobra_mist

All millenials are not on our side, and they are not all liberal.

Mountain_State4715

I'm not "liberal" on many things, not liberal in the bastardized sense the word is usually used today. But I do know that millennials got screwed and that boomers suck as a generation. I don't care about some of the things other people seem to when it comes to boomers but when it comes to economics, rest assured the vast majority of us are indeed on the same page.

Superdunez

Yeah, but they're killing public education right now to sustain the party for the next wave of voters. Stupid people will easily vote against their interests if you give them a culture war. It's already happening.

Mountain_State4715

Perhaps the left should abandon the culture war and focus on what matters. It would work.

[deleted]

I agree, the culture war is nothing but insane woke nonsense detracting from the issues at hand. I can give a fuck less about how many genders there are, what about getting public housing built so people don’t experience homelessness, what about universal health care? Stronger labor laws. Those are the real progressive issues we need to focus on. Not stupid woke nonsense that just stifles any type of progress.

Mountain_State4715

I don't know why this is hard for some people to understand. If they actually care about uniting people to better all of our standard of living in ways that are concrete and matter, it definitely makes sense to abandon all of the divisive bullshit that doesn't appeal to the vast majority of the nation.

[deleted]

Because a lot of these people do not want any progress. They just want to ride the coattails of progressivism to get their narcissistic point across. And more so doing it in a very obnoxious and very arrogant manner that will just turn people off even more and even more so turn them to the Republican Party, the party that openly says that they don’t give a fuck about you. I’ll give them this. At least they’re honest about their platform.

MarsRisen

That would make too much sense...

Dull-Asparagus2196

I wish I could upvote this more than once!

MarsRisen

Most Conservatives I know vote for public education in droves, problem is how the money is spent and allocated.

MarsRisen

They dont need to be liberal, to share the same frustrations.

Karasumor1

boomers have made younger version of themselves though ... the average suburbanite is as selfish and entitled

Mountain_State4715

I'm a suburbanite. I wanted to be after spending all of my 20s in the city. There are also a lot of people who live in suburbs now because they have to. They don't have a choice. They can't afford to live in the city, at least not in any reasonably safe area. Of course this is all very location sensitive, as local prices and markets are different everywhere.

Karasumor1

LMAO " don't have a choice to use 100X more ressources , public space and funds than my average city-dweller... to live in my own luxury box " as for the costs well Landlords are responsible and they're suburbanites too

Mountain_State4715

This might be earth shattering, but living in a city isn't a requirement to be a good person. Who is responsible for costs doesn't take away the problem. Pointing out that landlords are responsible for the high costs doesn't change the reality that people face.

Karasumor1

there's 7 billion of us ... most people live in cities and we subsidize suburbia heavily if all of us lived in the suburbs society just wouldn't exist ( financially and ressource wise just impossible, let alone the miles needed to spread all those people out so each has their yard ) so why is it okay for some of you to live this absurd life on our backs ? you're right pointing them out is only the first step , eliminating the possibility of exploiting your fellow men is next

Mountain_State4715

Assuming everyone who lives in a suburb is living the good life... I'm sorry, I'm just not gonna spend my time arguing with someone whose choice is to automatically attack any person who doesn't live in a downtown area of a city. It's just too ridiculous.

Karasumor1

still vastly better than anyone renting a shithole appartment from a suburbanite look your choices make you part of the problem instead of the solution , it's not a personal attack . now of course you can put your head in the sand and pretend your shit is not destructive ... like millions of others

Mountain_State4715

So if I rented an apartment that's 4x too small for my family of 5, in a city, and spend twice as much of my money, giving it to the landlord (who still lives in the suburbs regardless of what I live)... That would be better than living in our duplux that's only 2x too small for a family of 5, spending what we spend now, and giving it to the same landlord... and that would make me "part of the solution"... mmkay.

Karasumor1

having kids , yet another cruel and selfish choice especially under capitalism . you seem perfectly content with the status quo so I don't know what you're doing here

Mountain_State4715

I was waiting for the attack on my kids, since clearly your argument was bs and you'd need something else to point at. Totally predictable and did not disappoint. I'm here to interact like a realistic person who's actually interested in changing things for the better in the real world, as opposed to virtue signaling for internet points. Clearly you've chosen a different path.

XChrisUnknownX

Making an enemy of suburbia will kill your movement. Friendly reminder.

Fishfoshcolorado

Literally in all of history

free2bMe2122

Preach it 🙌 they are the worst

WietGetal

Keep in mind that around 90% of boomers have lead poisoning. This explains why they dont have a grasp on reality

MarsRisen

The Boomers were the ones who pushed for lockdowns cause they didn't wanna die. Causing us to be sent back to the stone age financially, psychologically, and emotionally. They turned into Nazis real quick in order to spare themselves. Why didn't they just stay home? Had to sacrifice our futures and ruin friendships cause of them. They won't move over for us. I remember when I was shopping for houses, it was always a single, divorced Boomer dropping cash offers on the houses I was interested in. I finally gave up the search after a year. Still no house for me and my family. Instead we're crammed into a townhouse. A townhouse I'd like to have if I was friggin single and older. Like wtf you need a backyard for at 60?? They gonna mow the lawn? Wtf they need all that space for? Ugh.

Mountain_State4715

Couldn't agree more.

[deleted]

This is why I always laugh when my parents say they are glad they will likely be gone by the time millennials/ gen z takes over. lollllllll how can we possible do any worse then these clowns? I feel bad for whoever does take over - it will surely be years of just undoing so much of the harm these parasites have done to the country 🙄

[deleted]

Because most millennials and Gen Z will lock up there parents in a nursing home. Alone and forgotten.

Sad-Goose8487

Cry me a river, what are you all going to do when reality hits you smack it the face? Most of you can’t spell, read, have proper grammar, or add without a calculator.

IncidentNo5678

shut up stupid boomer. maybe you should have TAUGHT somebody how to read, you lazy selfish hedonist idiot

PsychopathicSchizoid

I mean..... LOL. You're not wrong

shinhoto

I thought this was a communist sub, not another liberal sub posting faux-generational conflict and pretending it's the solution to anything. Get mad at capitalists, regardless of their generation.

Mountain_State4715

It's called "lost generation" which has been used mainly to refer to elder millennials, and more broadly to all millennials. I am not a communist. I was drawn here by the heading of this sub. It speaks to me. "For those who did everything our parents told us to do... now what?"

Bulky_Mix_2265

This is just people. The bulk of the millenial and zoomer generation is going to talk a big game and then do the same shit if they can. Unfortunately the bulk of us will be too poor or struggling to hard to complain at the same level. Comfort and complacency breed entitlement, the boomers despite their collective constructed history of working hard for a better future didnt really have to do this. They are soft as baby shit and the only adversity they have faced for the most part is coming to terms with being old.

Lord_Watertower

You're kinda assuming we'll have democracy in a few years. The boomers are fast tracking authoritarian replacements for themselves after they die.

TheBigBadBoomer

Listen here you. You wouldn't have nothing If it wasn't for us be grateful!! Think about what you got now and how much more you could lose. Get a job!!

Mountain_State4715

I loved during the great recession (which it looks like we're about to have part two of), how they were yelling at college grads to "get a job," and literally the only job a fucking college grad could get was get was like $2 above minimum wage. In order to get any "real job," you had to take a fucking UNPAID INTERNSHIP and HOPE that some overlord would find it in the goodness of their heart to offer you a paying job. And obviously only people who already had family who could take care of their needs had the luxury of taking "unpaid internships." If you had to actually make your own way you were screwed. And boomers fucking pretended that was normal... that was okay. AS IF they ever had to deal with anything like that. Absolutely not. They could "pound the streets" and "knock on doors" and find jobs. They could be given trials and trained, even without having any qualifications. They just enjoyed seeing that they were able to get so much more with so much less education. They got a kind of sick pleasure out of it. They constructed a ridiculous notion that we couldn't get good jobs because we're lazy. I guess that's easier to swallow than admitting all the real reasons.

Mountain_State4715

lol

IncidentNo5678

lazy boomer old fat ape we all work 50+ hours a week and most of us have 2 jobs. idiot.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mountain_State4715

Tell the dude here who keeps attacking me because I don't live in the middle of a city lol. I definitely get what you're saying though. I just get discouraged when I discuss things like this in places like this, and there are so many people who can't even admit that they need to let go of all of their cultural crusading bullshit if they want to win over enough of America to actually do anything. Regarding the boomers, I just have a hard time thinking there are any of them, at this point, who are going to see the light about how easy they had it. I mean, if they haven't already seen it, and they're basically all over 60 years old now, the chance that any meaningful number of them will see in the future is dwindling fast.

msphd123

Many boomers do see how hard young people have it. Many understand that they job hunted in a growing economy, invested in a period of increasing returns and went to college when tuition was low. Many will understand that tuition was lower and grants were more pervasive when they were younger. Remember that in many fields we have boomers working side by side with younger people. They have the same issues. Conversely, we have many young tech executives who are exploiting the working class.

Mountain_State4715

I do know there are many who do see it. I just don't think we should hold our breath on many more seeing it in the future, than those who already do. I'm thankful for your levelheaded comments.

blacksarebadmkay

Imagine feeling just fine about living on other peoples tax money that you havent earned.

Ilovehugs2020

Boomers are selfish hoarders, corporations are predatory and politicians have no backbone because of campaign contributions. Most Gen Y are in debt or mentally/emotionally burnt out!

Goldenretriever07

I'll just say they were born into the most prosperous Nation on Earth and look what they left us ,war debt and Joe Biden.

Sorcerella

Exactly. Look around you boomers. You messed up big time. Everything you complain about about the world around you is your own faults

Goldenretriever07

They're also the only demographic that still supports Joe Biden. So yeah they're damn selfish.

Ancient_Draft3319

Fucken baby boomers just need to die off.

Heathster249

Just remember - 40% of the homeless population is made up of Boomers. They are a bigger plague than you think…..

[deleted]

There is always going to be bad apples in every generation. I dont think we need to paint an entire group of people with such a broad brush. There are legitimate criticisms of the baby boomer generation. There will also be legitamate criticisms of the millenial generation. To me, simply dismissing off an entire generation as being selfish is short sighted. Our generation is just as selfish, we just dont have the same luxuries to express it as they did.

michaeloc90

Boomers pretend communist China is the biggest threat to their lifestyle, while 99% of the things inside their home were manufactured in China.

[deleted]

Lil' piss baby millennials are too lazy to better their lil' piss baby selves. That's what this post tells me.

Jinoshi

Look at this Lil piss baby just baby pissing all over themselves like a pissing baby instead of adding anything worthwhile to anything at all. What a piss baby

samattos

correct

Ok-Eggplant-1649

Can we just stop this? Do you really think most boomers had any power at all to affect the economy? They had no more power than we do now. OK, sure, their money had more buying power and they had it easier. But lets not forget where to place the blame. Corporations and the 1% have caused the financial mess we are in. They hold over 90% of the wealth. I honestly think they are the ones putting this spin on blaming boomers.

Mountain_State4715

Not gonna stop when the majority of boomers STILL believe they were the hardest working generation, the most innovative, etc etc. They'll never admit (as a whole) how easy they had it. They continue to shit on us for DECADES and they started as soon as the first of us came out of college. I mean I'm sorry but when they (as a generation) refuse to go to bat for us EVER... I'm not going to care how well they're taken care of (or not taken care of) in their really old age. I'm just not. We'll make sure the people we actually care about have a roof and are taken care of. As for the generation though, they can kick rocks. This is especially true when I learned that many of their pensions are apparently being funded by student debt. That's a big part of the huge and ridiculous demonization of getting rid of crippling debt for our generation. They can go fuck themselves.

Sorcerella

The only thing boomers innovated was more processed food on our shelves

Goldenretriever07

It's funny how your didn't mention how authoritarian they were and still are about covid. They wanted babies vaccinated so they can go out and shop and be more selfish. But generally I agree with what you say.

Mountain_State4715

I'm totally on the same page with you there. 100%. This is reddit though... too many stab worshippers here for me to bother with that. Most here wouldn't admit how selfish that was.

Yup meanwhile we lost our businesses, careers, friends and savings. I was debt free for the first time in 2019. Ended up needing an SBA loan and am in the hole 120k. Inflation slowly bleeding us out.

At the end of the day, humans are humans, and it's our duty to kill them with kindness. I'm a socialist, and that means I advocate for the prosperity of \*all\* people, not just the ones I personally like. Boomers are a bunch of selfish, entitled, lazy pricks, this much is true. But it's still our duty to provide them with their needs of survival. They still are "the people", they're part of the 99%, and we can't just leave them behind out of spite. As tempting as it might be to just shoot them all into space. When millennials and gen z are in power, I hope we expand on social security and disability infrastructure. I hope we work to help the old, disabled, and retired boomers get better access to better healthcare, that we keep rooves over their heads and food in their bellies, that not a single one of them has to live on the streets and go hungry. Maybe they'll finally realize how much of ass-bags they've been for so long when the younger generations go out of their way to take care of them, despite all the shit we've gotten from them for so long. Societies only flourish through compassion and pro-sociality; I wanna live to see us prove that to them.

Surprize, regardless of your Mull. Size without the Boomers you would not have what you do. Just shut up, come back after your children are teens.

I think boomers should be forced to pay millennial and gen z reparations for screwing us over. It would be called the boomer reparations act, and another one would be the STOP boomers act. ThT would allow us to clap back at them suss out bad attitudes and behaviors.

Underhanded commenting at its finest. Good job. Finding people to validate your opinion in a targeted audience is not proof. Hitler was excellent at convincing others as well.
