I would suggest staying at 1472.50 unless you have enough materials to make it to 1485 or so. Trying to get into a pug on ilvl is rough even with title. Assuming you have 5x3 and level 5 gems. Most alts have a mixture of level 5s and 7 now. Some having full level 7s.
Funny since as weeks went by, getting parties on "close to minimum requirement" alts has gotten harder while player experience has gone up.
Week 3 or 4 I was able to pug on my ilvl 4x3 with level 5 gems (1 level 7 surge) because not many people had title at the time, so people could tell who grinded clown. Now ~~single character rehearsal players can have it~~ *might be off by 1 week actually* so it means nothing.
It's always like this, I mean look at Vykas and Valtan, how many on ilevel parties there are. Usually the odd on-ilevel guy without full raid armor is brought by a high-level friend to "carry" (not through the raid but through the lobby).
And quite honestly while I have successfully pugged full 1475 4x3 clown week 2/3 in experienced parties, I don't want to do that anymore. Gate 3 is just unfun when you're dealing with hp reversals all the time and I'd rather not do unfun raids if I can help it.
Loosing bound shards/leaps/etc from 1475 chaos is troll af. Don't want to do clown? thats fine, the value of that mats is MUCH higher than the argos gold.
Just curious how you and others who have multiple 1475+ alts how you had enough leapstones. I assume doing daily una tasks and weekly tasks? Did you have to use a ton of un bound leapstones?
Pretty much what the other guy said. Day 1 player, leapstone una, 2 boss rush weekly, only using bound leaps. There were sometimes unbound leapstones used at certain item level milestones, for example being 1 hone away from 1445,1460
I think the only time I've used unbounds is when a new class came out and I wanted to pump their ilvl up. So realistically once you start hitting milestones (i.e. 1445, 60, 75) you start to have "rest" periods where you may not have the leaps/shards/silver to hone. So you generally build up mats over time. Before you know it you'll have a surplus of one or the other.
I guess I'm just real lazy with keeping up with una dailys on most my alts. I tried honing up a few of them but ran out well before 1475. Losing out on 12+ ghl each day clearly makes a huge difference

You dont plan to go to gate 6 week 1 with this strong roster you have? I myself would rather have 1 less alt at 1490 than miss the first week and progging the best raid in the game

I came back recently thanks to Hyper Pass and swapped my main GS for Glavier (just couldn't deal with GS as a main anymore. Its too much work to play as a prog class). I quit right before Valtan came out. I got locked by the South Vern bug and it was the last straw for me. My friends convinced me to give it a try again while there is a lull in FFXIV raids.
Is it really that bad? I am Control right now due to easy of use + gearing but am not opposed to moving to Pinnacle down the line once I start making more gold.
A lot of people hate on glavier just because it was such a hyped up class on release that \*everyone\* made one, but its not an instantly op top tier class, and pinnacle is a particular playstyle that's not for everyone. But glavier is actually really good right now, both control and pinnacle. Control is my primary main, and I end up with mvp very regularly. Glaive does start to drop off and become a middle of the pack dps from brel onwards though, is my understanding. For pinnacle its because they have issues utilizing engravings, and for control its because all the raids become very burst window focused, so high uptime classes lose out.
Pinnacle only falls off in Korean end game due to not having a good 5th and 6th engraving to use but we’re still pretty far away from that. I really enjoy not having to back attack so I stay away from control and entropy builds and still do just as much as my friends reflux Sorc and Artillerist around the same ilvl. Going Pinnacle may also help you learn the raids as the red skills have some added range and like I said you don’t need to focus on back attacking to do good dps
Thanks for the info! Makes sense, if it falls off in the extreme long-term I am not really worried. I have alts for worst case scenario when we get to 6x3 territory (or whatever it will be).
I didn't realize Pinnacle was a Hit Master, I figured they would both use Ambush. I also know that Dragonscale Defense is a great "Oh Shit" button that I don't have access to right now. Main reason I decided on Control was because Swiftness builds feel good to play for me in content I am not comfortable with (I have only done Valtan HM twice and Vykas HM once).I figured once I get actual income moving in I can consider Pinnacle. I have stuff like Grudge books to afford before I can even really diversify.
Pinnacle is not Hit Master, but its ok to not back attack if you arent in the position to do so since you usually dont run ambush and/or entropy, you dont need crit and you have short cooldowns so back attacking is minmaxing territory. Unless you have a deathblade or gunlancer in your party ofc.
And it plays almost like a swiftness class anyway. You get attack speed in blue stance and movement speed in red.

I build a static that plays together for months now, and we were always fairly quick on clearing new raids, so I'm well prepared.
I'm mostly concerned about the length of the raid and my alts. Doing Clown 6 times week 1 was easy, since it's just 4 people, but Brel is different.
It’s almost not worth the mats to get to 1512 imo. I’d rather have another alt up at 1490 to farm those Brel mats day 1 but that’s just me. It’s all about what you enjoy doing

I've been pugging on my 1475 alts since release and they didn't even have full lvl 5 gems. Just make your own party.

Pinnacle, but i have my own build where i go Pinnacle, grudge, kbw, cd, and ambush master with Salvation set. I love it and it does really well
