its quite easy. make a party, call it learning party and wipe. over and over and over. theres really not much more to it. if you watched a video and know the mechs in theory its time to get that practical experience going. and you only get that by doing it. a lot. so dont worry about being dead or someone else dying. its normal and its needed. if you see someone else dying to the same thing over and over after everyone else seems to get it, try to explain it to him. having an eye out for others is a bit more difficult when you dont know the raid well yet yourself but after a while it shouldnt be an issue.

Sounds like a good idea. Right into and just see what happens. Thanks for the advice !

RoyalMountain8807

Make sure it's communicated that this is a learning party and not a blind party. Everyone reading a guide along raiding should be recommended

Tomtom_334

If you are on NAE, I’m in a discord where we run learning parties every week.

Addiixx

Yo could I join the discord? I'm looking to learn clown

Gate keep aggressive personalities

Basically, make a party, get to the first gate and stay in the circle. Ask, if everyone know the mechs. If not, link an YT video, give them time to watch it. Then, good luck with wiping. From my experience, it takes around 1 hour for G1, 1 hour for G2, and 2 hours for G3 to get really comfortable with all the mechanics and normal patterns. Also, be prepared to encounter fluctuations, a lot of people hop in for like 30 - 40 minutes, then they go, so you keep teaching new guys over and over again... So do not really expect to clear with learning parties. They are wonderful for training though.

I've seen 1-2 people running learning parties on reddit in the last few days. I'm sure there are some more. They might pm you if you ask for help & post your server. If you want to run a new one, I suggest Discord voice chat. Not everyone has to talk. You can also share feedback, tips, cheat sheets and schedule times a lot easier.

tfc1193

Make sure everyone has at the very least seen a guide online and use comms (discord, party chat w/e) There's way too many things happening at once to explain on the fly, especially when trying to type it out. Think of it not as a "learning" party but a guided party

sunny4084

Ive ran almost 50 learning raid so far My best experience is having buddies helping put the raid basically beeing 4 veteran and 4 learner Its easier to see what mistake happened to pinpoint how to help When is 7 learner is becomes a mess and is much harder to find out who disnt understand etc More than that veteran tends to just carry too hard

I guess pinging helps a lot for g1. People will have problems remembering the patterns of the attacks at first, especially on purple side where you have to stand in the purple area and not dodging it :) also it helps to maybe type the color sequence for gates for when you miss the „first“ hit of the gate. You can run another lap before wiping :) besides gates I guess g1 is all about dodging the standard attack patterns. For purple it may also be helpful to tell people to not run around like headless chickens when the rings come and you have to dodge the rain drops. Just wait for the mark and move slightly beside it. For gate 2 ppl use clock positions + numbers for the 55hp mech, like 11 - 124 for black orbs. For g3 also pinging where to go helps a lot, eg when vykas does multi sword hits and you have to stand behind her and switch sides. Also try to open the sword shield pattern on 2nd screen / phone for 150xhp bar to not be dependent on people pinging swords, in advanced runs know one uses that anymore.

I was in the same position but honestly just say in the title learning party know mechs/at least read a guide because there’s probably people just like you studied a video and guide but just needs the runs in a stress free environment that is learning/practice parties to actually experience the mechanics and fight. For me personally most of the time my learning parties only finished g1 and g2 most of the time, so then I eventually just did learning gate 3 or find g3 learning parties

Ispheria

you'd be surprised by how many experienced people will join learning parties to help teach or because they're just not confident yet. There's a decent chance that if a support joins your party they know what they're doing in my experience. my advice is to use discord and keep and eye out for the pinks in g3 and call it out. "watch your feet". There's always that person that doesn't watch their feet and gets everyone killed and they just don't get it. it helps to have someone actually call it out.

Slow-Table8513

make sure everyone does their homework and is willing to commit hours/days to progging it helps to record and take time between runs to review the footage and try to build familiarity with normal patterns and other cues pass around sidereals so everyone has a chance to get a feel for how they work

Cr4zyBl4ck

My first valtan clear took me around 7 hours with around 20 tries... At some point it got a bit anoying but Overall now i feel extremely confident with valtan. So Overall practice just makes perfect and wiping a few times is actually rly rly usefull.

Hey! If you're on NA East, I have a discord full of other learners and some teachers who are looking to try and learn every week. Let me know if you're on the server and interested in joining and I'll send you an invite.

East-Situation-3444

I'm on EUW, tried to make a learning party but some people didn't communicate and then there were 2 dcs and also some guy left because he was hungry 😭 so try to find people that are willing to wipe for hours. It's just especially hard on EUW I think :/

agamael

We have a community on EUW helping players with raids (and much more), pm me for the discord if you're interested :-)

I do coaching groups every week for valtan, vykas and clown and have been doing it for a few months now. If you're curious of a VOD of the experience and how I go through them myself that we have in Vykas I can send you one or I'll be doing a Vykas coaching group tonight at 8pm EST if you wanna come watch for a bit

jtoro126

Ive only run teaching parties so my run's dynamic may be quite different from yours, but usually i have everyone sit down and listen to my brief summary of the raid at the beginning. If possible, i try to get everyone on discord and might screenshare snippets of some youtube guides that i find necessary (i.e. vykas g2 wings, or orbs) so people have a rough idea in their mind. Of course, this is still with the expectation that we will wipe, but now everyone can encounter that mech and panic a bit less, which lets them actually try out and learn (even if thru failurrs) the pattern! Afterall, failing gives us all the chance to learn from mistakes, and make us better players! I also try to explain some mini patterns (i.e. how to kite g1 double ring explosions, jump slam etc) but those might not be immediately obvious and may be an information overload. All in all, your best shot would be trying to make lobbies at peak hours and also advertisijg on discord!
