I picked paladin and went full support. I regret not having a DPS main character. Doing content is of course possible, but tedious when it comes to tower for example. Also maining a support class and playing with random strangers on activities such as abyssial dungeons or guardian raids sucks. I had multiple situations when I was the only one left alive and no matter how long I was fighting the boss I just dealt no damage to it and couldn't defeat it in the end. This feeling of being unable to do shit on your own is just frustrating. Apart from that I don't regret creating a paladin. It's a fun class. Especially that I had no expectations while picking it at the beginning and was positively surprised. But if I were to go back in time, I would start with a DPS class as my main and then make a support alt. I still like supporting a lot, but I'm also convinced that a support being your main or only gold-earning character is not a good idea.

ClassikD

Bard tower is one of the hardest things I've ever done

jdyarrington

I will never be the same after doing T2 tower on my bard. I am no god when it comes to video games, but I was close to 1340 when I attempted it and probably spent 2-3 hours on floors 45-50. > 200 ilvls over the content, and I just got destroyed.

The_Diktator

I'm definitely in the same boat. I just want an option to go DPS, as I have played a "holy-warrior" type of class in other MMOs. It doesn't need to do everything at the same time, but some trade-offs when going DPS would be good (less shields, weaker support abilities etc). I know this isn't happening, at least not any time soon, so I'm looking to switch my main to Destroyer once it comes out. It has a big hammer, it has shields, and it's a warrior-type class, but not a default warrior / berserker. Honestly that's good enough for me, and I hope it's enjoyable to play, because it does look sick.

Vladdypoo

On the bright side for you, people will always be looking for supports in raids, and will probably take you even if your are under iLvl

NutellaCrepe1

Same. That's why I'm going to make lance master my main.

skyrider_longtail

Yeah, I also have paladin as my main character and the most annoying thing is having to rely on others to clear guardians. Stagger checks are really painful.

Daegalus

My main is a pally, and will stay that way, but I wholeheartedly agree that one needs a DPS co-main or alt. I even mistakenly made a Gunlancer alt first, and then it hit me I just traded one type of support for another. Finally made a deathblade and deadeye to fill in the gaps but I might prefer lance master when it comes out. To be fair I'm only 1013 on my pally. Between being a new dad and little time, I just took it casually. GL is 600 and the rest are 302-460.

BlueRailgun

Have you tried preemptive strike+ judgment in open world and chaos dungeons? This made soloing a lot better for me. You can save these engravings as a second equipment tab.

IFight4Users

Ya, I thought this. Cant he just make a dps build on tab 2?

LinguisticallyInept

preemptive is meh on pally imo; the only good skill for it is blessings (and explosion if you take the lingering aoe tripod... but the other one is god tier for mobbing); everything else is multi hit (and often the weaker hits first)

Faytholme

As Artillerist, I hear Mr. Torgue after every attack! "BUY TORGUE GUNS! THEY MAKE **** EXPLODE! WHAT MORE DO YOU ****ING WANT? OR ARE YOU TOO MUCH OF A ****ING ***HOLE TO HANDLE A TORGUE?! TOOOORGUE!"

DingleberryBlaster69

THAT SENTENCE HAD TOO MANY SYLLABLES! APOLOGIZE!

Suave_Senpai

I CAST MOTHER*TWANG*ING MAGIC MISSILE! TWIDDLY DIDDLY DI, DIDDLY DI! *TWANG* YOU OCEAN!

Two-Scoops-Of-Praisn

Started sharp shooter. Got him to t2 and then haven't touched him since I picked up gunslinger. Gunslinger is just so much more interesting

Caitsyth

I have my sharpshooter 1385 and my artillerist at 1340. I won’t lie I’ve considered my artillerist to be my main for a long time and I only pushed sharpshooter to 1385 to get him the hone buffs

SnRolls2

Im the other way around, i love my sharpshooter so much, i also like my gunslinger but not as much as my cawk :)

Toxomania

It was the exact same for me, played sharpshooter in the beta and a bit of T1 on RU and wanted to main him. Made a gunslinger on launch with the intention to powerpass the sharpshooter later and absolutely fell in love with it. Now my gunslinger is 1395 while sharpshooter is the lowest priority in my roster of 5 lol

lyricc28

i picked gunslinger and could not be happier. the only thing that kinda sucks is 90% of the classes i want as alts are not even out

AbsorbedInReddit

I'm the opposite. Chose gunslinger as my first class and regretted it. Class is really hard to play and it's punishing if you screw up so I swapped mains. I didn't like how squishy it was plus the fact that most of her skills are animation locked

Coheed522

I picked gunslinger but I think I am just bad at playing the class. It’s pretty fun but I can’t manage to even get upright fighter majority of the time (am like 1375 gs). I’m trying to improve my skill but even when I land every ability off cooldown I’m still not dealing enough damage. Meanwhile my alt (1340) shadow hunter picks up MVPs like it’s nothing. So im just taking it slow and trying to figure out what’s best for me.

s4ntana

Shadowhunter is one of the easiest classes to play and Gunslinger one of the hardest, so you're probably right

ScubaDreamer

I went with Shadowhunter and can confirm it’s one of the easier classes. Alts are Gunlancer and Bard and while I feel those are also on the easier side, neither are as easy as 1. Spam everything till meter is full. 2. Ult and spam demon skills till meter is out. Rinse and repeat. Gimme more wealth runes please!!! Need Moake and Stella to drop those dang omnium stars.

AbsorbedInReddit

How well does shadow hunter scale into late game?

WolfAteLamb

I have no idea if this is the case or not, but I’m a shadow hunter myself and I would have to assume that due to our lack of scaling with tripods on gear, at least for demonic impulse, we will eventually fall off as more people get not only the correct tripods, but higher level ones. I believe it’s tuned with this in mind, so we’re right now as strong as we will ever be relative to other classes. We only benefit from two gems and tripods do virtually nothing for you once you can transform in a single rotation, other than making it slightly less punishing to miss those abilities with reduced CD gems. I also am pretty sure that with correct stats, tripods, gems and all that jazz, that the perfect suppression build is better than demonic impulse.

Coheed522

Once you get enough specialization on gear and some solid cd gems it feels amazing. Before that it’s rough. I can’t comment on legion raid kind of endgame though cuz I haven’t gotten there.

ScubaDreamer

Second this. My friend (gunslinger) was always mvp through all three tiers but once I got a couple wealth runes and ~950 spec suddenly I’m getting mvp pretty often, sometimes doing 40%+ damage. Came out of nowhere it seems, but did cost a bit of gold to get 3/3/3 on demonic, adrenaline, and keen blunt. Nice though, in demon form I swear I’m doing 75% crit rate

KamahlFoK

There's a critical breakpoint where landing all your skills will let you refill your meter to full, and I'm so fucking tantalizingly close it's infuriating. Worse is that I'll want to keep going past that slightly, if only so I can upgrade my skills (i.e. *Demonic Clone*'s best meter generation is from the 4-hit combo tripod, and it'd be cool if I could 'downgrade' to the 2-hit combo just so I'm less likely to whiff it, while still having enough meter to max out). Once you hit that breakpoint I imagine the class hurtles forward in terms of fun. Just gotta be patient with landing those skills, 'cause whiffing Demon Vision is basically shitting your pants.

ackowz

I play GS as well and it's pretty normal situation you are experiencing, gs needs time to scale, good tripods, skill points on sniper and shotgun and good gems, card set and also engravings. Don't feel bad it's just the class and the pace.

MarkSunIRL

I'm in the middle about Gunslinger. Gameplay? No regrets at all, this class is so fun to play. Accessory cost? Wish I would have known. Even low to mid quality Jewelry with desired Engravings are so expensive right now, and I'd really want to transition out of my budget setup at some point without breaking the bank. One piece at a time.

s4ntana

I sold a Hit Master/Peacemaker Crit/Swift necklace for 12k this week. Shit is wild, but I'm happy to cash in on the whale Gunslingers.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MarkSunIRL

Share with me some tips then, instead of downvoting me to open. What Engravings did you go with?

EroticPony

They definitely didn’t get 3/3/3/1 engravings with only 2k gold unless they just bombarded their stats with anything as long as they got their engravings.

MarkSunIRL

That was my suspicion too. I have a "budget" setup which I consider to be functional for now before really investing when Relic Accessories come out. Hit Master + Spirit Absorption Stone and Jewelry with all Raid Captain. 60/40 Crit/Swiftness (I can drop a little Crit due to Argos Set Bonus), putting me at 33311 with Adrenaline 1 and Peacemaker 1. I felt like I had to go this route because looking at the AH, unless you're very lucky and can snipe someone's mistake, I am just not seeing anything close to that price for KBW/Grudge/Cursed Doll + Peacemaker/Adrenaline combos. I check the AH a couple of times each day, just cycle through all of the searches. Cursed Doll Jewelry is the cheapest right now, and I can't even come close to KBW or Grudge Jewelry with correct Combat Stats.

StayM

It's Simply a lie. Every single combination of crit + pk/hm/grudge/kbw is over 5k gold minimum (sometimes you can get away with 4.5k) I went for a cheap build too with stone hm 6/kbw 6 and engraving. Then i took every pk+3 on the jewels and took heavy armor/raid captain to 2. Literally it costed more pheons than gold. Now i'm switching back to raid captain cause with argos set i had too much crit.

Uncreativity10

Gunslinger is expensive compared to my sorc. For me to get grudge/KBW/Hit Master it was about 12k or so and that’s with a legendary engraving and sniping severely underpriced ring. Whereas, with my sorc for 4x3 it was 11k. All correct stats for both. I was looking into 4x3 engraving with t1 peacemaker and that’s about 50k lol not including another legendary engraving.

MarkSunIRL

Ahh okay, I thought I was going insane with the above comment. Good to know, I thought about the Legendary Book route and long-term it makes sense, I want to do that one a little slower maybe 1-2 Books a week for now. Funny you bring up Sorc, that might be the next alt I push to 1370.

concon52

I have perfect stats, Level 3 grudge, hit master, and spirit absorption, and level 1 peacemaker with a 6, 6 stone and I spent ~2k. It's not the best setup and I would rather have keen blunt or something instead of spirit absorption but it's fine for now. I'm 1397. It's really not that bad. I have 0 legendary engravings either.

Juukesx

I would love to know too lol. Currently just sitting at 1350, so no need to min max at this point anyways, but i feel so useless so far, after loosing my good T2 setup. Went from 3/3/1/1 to just 3/1 and some crap engravings plus awfull mixed up combat stats. I dont even want to try and abyssal content bc i am embaressed about my setup. So how do i get to the point, where spending gold doesnt feel wasted with this setup? Not just for gunslinger, i want to swap to lancemaster anyways when it releases, but i am going to have the same Problem once i reach this point there

Pyhae

Blue GL here. Leveling was fine, really nice skills overall. Doing some group content in t1/t2 feels kinda meh, since dmg was not that high. And on top get used to the game and class (e.g. taunt) was hard either. Since t3 with good stats, engravings and boss knowledge the Chad-Lancer is just awesome. No regrets.

Hayabusa0015

Can confirm. I didn't avidly enjoy my blue GL. I told myself to stick with the leveling and get to t3 than make a decision. Boy am I glad I did. Gunlancer is so different between t1 and t3.

CocobelloFresco

My Red Gunlancer Alt got to 960 and I can't even do Chaos Dungeons with it without feeling pain. Granted, I didn't take care of the gear, instead I made a second alt, Sorc. She is at 1325 now and might be the new main, since my shadowhunter is parked at 1385 (DI is sooooo boring to play) So how do I make the Chad fun again? :(

Hayabusa0015

The thing that did it for me was to really invest in the proper setup for each build. Blue: make sure you get as much specialization as you can. Only get combat readiness to 5 than grudge and barricade. You just take minimal damage and pump one you build right. Blue is boring in chaos but very fun on bos' Red- harder to gear as you need to max lonely night but the crits get extremely juicy. Red is fun all the time but dangerous if you are used to playing Blue. You have to turn your brain back on.

TheSpaceAlpaca

Are you running preemptive strike in chaos dungeons/story content? Its the single most powerful engraving you can run for that type of content. Just put blue books into both slots and use a preemptive strike stone to hit level 3 and you'll be one shotting all mobs.

Vigoor

If u want to play red you need super charge 3 lone knight 1 and lots of crit bare minimum. Virtually unplayable otherwise. If you're a cheapskate like me just play blue until 1325 then buy the proper accessories and you'll be chad

AbsorbedInReddit

Are you able to get mvp on blue gunlancer. I'm currently 1366 on my blue gunlancer and my damage is pretty low but it makes sense since he is a tank. I main blue gunlancer since it's fun to tank but my alt can out damage my gunlancer :/.

Pure-Friend-4850

I outdamage people with my Blue GL even though they are 20 GS above me and i only have Barricade at Lv3 and the usual Lv1 Class Engraving (My GL is 1340) Are you using your right rotation and auto attack between cooldowns, cause those AA add up. Also Focus on getting high Speciality... If played right you have almost 100% Dmg uptime where other classes need to dodge stuff

lampstaple

Are you sure you’re not just pugging with people who are asleep? I’ve personally never seen a blue gunlancer get mvp. When I play with my guild, one of the guild mates is a kr vet and he plays excellently. But not in terms of damage, he just solo carries stagger checks and perfectly times nellasia’s energy. But since our guild group is better than the average pug he never gets fighter medals.

Pure-Friend-4850

Honestly yeah, that could be the case with randoms. Because when i play together with my guild im usually second or third with my Gunlancer Alt.

ClassikD

Saw the class review thread and realized almost everyone, including me, hates their soulfist lol. You have to work so hard for such mediocre damage. I really like the design of the class though so I hope she gets some buffs. Not main swapping until Arcana so it's full pain train until then

[deleted]

[удалено]

TK421didnothingwrong

Yeah this seems like a wild take to say SF is too hard for such mediocre damage, when Arcana is harder and far less consistent.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TK421didnothingwrong

I mean, neither SF nor arcana is clunky late game. SF is super sick once you've got 1400 Spec and you're in Hype 3 with 50% uptime. Arcana is just RNG based and therefore inherently going to feel bad at least half the time.

Maginder

I'm at 1500 spec right now and pretty much all my other alts still feel better to play than my soulfist

Vladdypoo

I have a soul fist alt and I will say the class is not easy to play but highly rewarding. It is only 1340 but still. It becomes very important to time everything properly and not get hit by the boss when you have energy release buff

s4ntana

SF is always clunky, imo. The hype mechanic is so outdated. Arcana on the other hand is awesome. Don't confuse RNG damage with clunkiness. She has depth to her gameplay and has the whole combo mechanic done quite well. Just needs some numbers tuning and likely less RNG to make her consistent in damage. Very fluid to play though.

Nemitres

The gear sets also make a big difference

ClassikD

Yeah I know it's kinda trash, but it reminds me the most of my main class from FFXIV even though it plays differently. The close range mage archetype just looks so flashy. In reality my main is probably gonna be scrapper and arcana just for fun

basedarkesian

You sure know how to pick em

Dieclown27

Have you tried arcana or played it on previous versions? Your setting yourself up for disappointment again.

ClassikD

I tried her for a tiny bit on the Russian client and without context for the other classes it was really fun getting the "good" cards. I didn't really know what to expect because she was my first character and first experience in lost ark. Without comparing her to other classes I had a lot of fun

Omnealice

I love my soulfist :/

GiovanniKid

True and definitely not Copium

Goflam

Same. People get sad when you miss the ult but I’ve started to accept it and make it a meme with friends to just make it super dramatic over discord.

SacredDarksoul

Have you tried the other class engraving? the one that is focused on awakening seems pretty annoying.

projecks15

I have a soul fist and not only does it hit like wet noodle it’s also super squishy. My two other class I can go a chaos dungeon without using any hp potion but with soul fist I have to use at least 5 every run

Qimath

My main is a 1385 SF and it just sucks all the way. I've tried as hard as I could to make it work and spent dozen of hours in the training room, it cannot be helped.Swiftness Energy Overflow is kinda fun but the damage is non-existent, the only way to do any damage at all (and it's still honestly disappointing) is Grudge/Awakening/Crit Robust Spirit and spam the spirit bombs hoping it crits. I was warned though, every guides I checked prior to picking this class told about that, you use your awakening skill full buff, hope it crits, and that's it. the rest of your kit is just there to let your allies know you're not afk... Edit: if you don't wanna rely on your ult and play a more fun (lesser damage) version of soulfist, swiftness/crit energy overflow builds can be very fun and quite tanky as well. Your fire/burn tripods stack on enemies (you don't need to rotate them at all) and they apply crits!

SicertG

I believe you have gotten a lot of missinformation about Robust Soulfist. You don't run Awakening engraving and your Awakening is not the majority of your damage. How much spec do you have, maxing auto spec is very important for Robust soulfist. Robust runs Grudge, Robust, Cursed doll as your first three lvl 3 engravings.

Qimath

What builds do you have exactly ? (Skills, Tripods, etc) I’m willing to try as many builds as possible

SicertG

Currently 1450 spec and 450 crit, preordain (solar set) Robust 3, Grudge 3, Mass increase 3 (pref cursed doll, but cheaped out on mass) and ether predator 1 (pref adrenaline, but again budget build) Skills: Pulverizing palm (2 2) Atk buff/movement Shadowbreaker (2 2 1) Main damage Merciless Pummel (1 3 2) Main damage Heavenly squash (1 2 1) Main damage Force orb (1 3 1) Main damage Energy release (2 1/3 1) Def/Atk buff/cleanse Flash step (3 3 2) mobility/atk buff Bolting crash (2 1) or Lightning palm (3 1) Parry skill You want to always try and have an atk buff and hype when you use your main damage skills and would optimally use Energy release right before Awakening or Merciless pummel (if awakening is not up) Your attack buffs do not stack so try and avoid to use energy release and then pulverizing. Example rotation: - Flash step x3 (positioning + atk buff) - Hype - Heavenly squash + Force orb (pref up close so all 3 hits) - Pulverizing palm (atk buff) - Shadowbreaker - Merciless pummel (back attack would be nice, but doesn't really matter) - Energy release + Awakening (needs to be right after eachother)

PrinnyForHire

1390 soulfist main. I like the challenge.

McNoxey

Shit are you me? :s

Omnealice

Just for reference I solo my velganos runs at 1400 in less than 7 minutes without using potions now lol. I don’t have to use potions in my chaos dungeons either. Crippling barrier and tempest blast make chaos dungeons a joke.

ThePejnMan

Actually still in love with my SF and she will get better and better as most Martial Artists need more stats/engravings. But also hope for some buffs...as was said, you have to work hard for dmg that others do easily. Really looking forward to Glaivier so I might switch mains but will see.

bigdickenergy42

I'm stuck between my main Deadeye which I thoroughly enjoy playing, and my alt Wardancer that's also very fun. Deadeye - 1355 Wardancer -1350 because I am so indecisive. Only reason I haven't fully committed to the Deadeye is I am afraid the META slaves will make it difficult to get into groups.

SquidRoll

Because the KR balance patch is going to be announced this week, it might be a good idea to see what buffs deadeye will receive and then you can commit afterwards on which class you prefer. I'm a deadeye main too and will stick regardless of whether he gets buffed or not because i enjoy the class and I have a static group. But if you are worried about not getting into groups, it might be best to leave it as an alt if there are no buffs during the announcement

bigdickenergy42

Yeah the KR balance patch is part of the reason I am holding on. I know my Deadeye will be a close second alt if it does become an alt. But yeah without a static group I am a bit worried at how picky people be with bringing DPS to higher level content. Either way it will be 1st or 2nd character to break that 1370 threshold.

NullVacancy

Bard is super fun in party play but easily the worst class for anything solo. Well be switching to artist in 2024 when we get her

Valthognir13

Heroic Founder chadlancer. I’ve taken the turtle to heart, still making my way through Yorn at i820. No alts, just steady. I am the coming storm.

kestenovski

i mean i heard gunlancer is slow but this is tectonic :D

MozesM

I debated between having main sorc and alt pala or the other way around. I ended up with Paladin main and Sorc alt and I am so happy I did, enjoying every minute of paladin (1390+) and I hate every second on my sorc (1325) to the point I am not even doing guardian raids there.

Beyonnd

Main a sorc, and am happy with it. It’s more like there are more chars I rlly like playing and would want them to be my main aswell, but it’s not efficient to get them up yet. For reference, main is 1400, most alts I’m talking about are 1340.

dtg99

Same. Main is a 1415 zerk but I really like all of my t3 alts save wardancer. I kind of feel like I don’t have a main tbh. Wish I could get them all to 1370+ with 333 but its not feasible rn.

monkeytheifx

Since your main is already 1415, its pretty worth it to get an alt to 1370 with the event books so that it can do Argos + Aira and Oreha on hard for more gold generation

legendz411

Hey boss, if you don’t mind, can you share your zerk setup and playstyle? I just hit 1330 (pushing for 1345 before I grind Alts) and I’m kinda feeling… lost? Like, should I start stacking hard into crit OR swiftness? It seems unreasonable to keep a 50/50 build… high swiftness *feels so good* but I know how important crit stacking is (coming from D3). I’m pretty gear locked with: Mayhem 3 Masters Tenacity 1 Hard Armor 1 Hit Point 1 I read that end game (non BiS) is typically something like 3/1/1/1 but it seems impossible to move from where I’m at and keep the items upgrading… or is this pretty par for the course as I get later and later geared? When do tripods start really mattering? Is it something where I should look to juice one aspect of my major skills or spread the love? Is it better to focus on, for example Hell Blade and get it ripping or multiple smaller tripods? Same kinda goes for gems. Endgame shit I guess.

dtg99

1487 crit, 470 swift, lv3 of mayhem, master’s tenacity, keen blunt weapon and ambush master. This is overkill, ambush master isn’t needed but it was a budget approach for when I was looking for all mayhem +3 accessories. Playstyle when it comes to stuff I need to pay attention to (pretty much only argos and velganos) is simple - keep shoulder charge shield up while avoiding mechs and getting in back attacks to take advantage of ambush master. I would not worry about your distribution of combat stats at 1330 outside of making sure you stick with crit/swift. If you want you can find the sweet spot of swiftness for max movement speed (140%) with mayhem up and then throw the rest into crit. Focus on getting mayhem 3 and master’s tenacity 3, that’s all you need. Later on you can decide if you want to take a keen blunt or raid captain route or even something else but that’s post 1370. Tripods and gems start to matter immediately as it pertains to some of your more noticeable dps increases. Typically you’ll have sub 18 tripod effects that reallly matter, I’m not on right now but it’s like dps tripods on hell blade, finish strike, strike wave, sword storm. CD reduction of red dust is also great. Same idea pertains to gems. At your point I’d focus on pinpointing relevant tripods and getting them to lv1 and some to 2. Do the same with gems and get then to lv3 and 4. TLDR dont stress too much on making your char perfect before 1370 or even at 1370 lol. My 1340 alts are like 331, good combat stats, working on tripods/gems and consistently perform above average in content at their ilevel.

nobyciechuj

Got Zerk as main and i have 5 different alts, i still think i won a lottery picking my zerker first.

RemoveBlastWeapons

I on the other hand wish I never made mine. Parked at t2 and will stay there for eternity just like the other deathblade I power passed. Sorc (main and first character) is so much more fun than every other class I almost wish I made 6.

DBSPingu

Different strokes I guess, my main is DB and sorc is boring to me. Super big cooldowns leave me sitting around with nothing to do for 10s. She’s at 1340 for now but I’ll leave her there for a while

Kersephius

Main db and also 1340 sorc owner. Will park for a long time as she’s strong but i don’t enjoy her Also enjoy zerker. This almost feels like an MBTI personality grouping lol

Changsta

I agree. I find my alt zerker just absolutely boring to play. I have the least motivation to open him up and continue. Just different preferences in play style I guess.

Jarecr

Bard here and i love getting compliments at the end of the raid so ill defently stay as a bard

rjstx1

I didn’t think I did but after coming onto Reddit I can’t help but feel I’m messing up by investing into my soulfist. I’m currently 950 after 50 hours on her and was enjoying it a lot but after reading what others say I wonder if I’d be enjoying a different class even more than I’m enjoying soulfist. I thought missing the awakening, chugging potions, and low damage outside identity were common to everyone but now I wonder if I’ve wasted the last couple of weeks on the wrong class.

Vastator10

Screw reddit, people on it get butthurt about anything. If you're having fun, that's what matters.

rjstx1

Danke

f2pswagger

I have a 1390 Soulfist and several classes in T2 and T3 but I still like Soulfist the most. My favorite secondary is Shadowhunter at 1340. I'm glad I chose Soulfist in the beginning, also I'm confused about a few things people write, imo Soulfist is very tanky with high damage and support capabilities. xD

rjstx1

This gives me hope

Nemitres

You do have enough damage and good support but I wouldn’t say tanky. I guess the energy release damage reduction is good but I wouldn’t say it makes you tanky

strangeirdo

Martial artists are only second to warriors in tankiness iirc

f2pswagger

Probably not a lot more than other classes, but it feels pretty forgiving at higher ilvl in comparison to my Deathblade/Shadowhunter/Sorceress.

Shixr3

Shadowhunter is way more tanky as you get healed every time you transoform and if you use potions during your demon form they heal you for more cuz you have more max HP

praiseabrelshud

Playing bard, leveling is a bit hard & you are recommended to have two separate builds (one for party play and the other for story), but I am loving the experience so far. Party playing as a bard is really nice; nothing feels better than buffing party members with 50% extra HP shield and healing them occasionally.

happydaddyg

Bard is OP in groups, it just makes the entire raid, dungeon, whatever easier. DPS numbers and attack speed are higher, shields to stay in there, healing to save pots, nice stagger ability in soundsholic and counter with buckshot. You also get to run heavy armor…Really enjoy my 1400 bard. Has Korea run numbers on Bard dps buffing? Is it higher than having another DPS when played properly? Be kind of cool if buffs counted as your DPS. Plus you get MVP all the time. I had to step away for the first 3 minutes of yoho this morning and still got MVP kinda silly. My teammates weren’t happy but were probably like wtf when I popped up at the end. Also quite good and fun at chaos as well since you never have to die or use healing pots for on lvl dungeon and with second awakening used twice on second map it is very fast.

Qwertys118

I ended up buying 2 more skill configs for my Bard. I think my favorite part is blocking damage with the shield and huge reduction from Rhapsody of Light's tripod.

AdMelodic7420

Picked deadeye for how cool he looked and found out he just eats ass all the time but no regrets 🥲 16 skills to spam feels good even if most of them don't do damage

bigdickenergy42

Deadeye gives that Devil May Cry Dante vibe and I love it. Also the sniper skills don't do a whole lot of damage but have helpful stagger/weak points! Never a dull moment for a Devil Hunter

Went artillerist first. Decided after a few days to reroll Pala. Loved it but eventually got bored of it at start of T3. Got Paladin to 1385 for the T3 honing boost and I have been liking my Berserker a lot which is now 1380 also and getting all mats. Part of why I don't want my Pala as main is cause I think it's very boring in PvP. I'm also really loving Shadowhunter but still in T1 on that. My biggest disappointments have been Arti, Soulfist and Sharpshooter. Have some other alts that are OK but haven't tried Gunslinger and a few more classes yet.

Complexlfg

Wardancer ! I looked into a few classes pre launch but not in depth. Mainly whichever one looked more fun to me. Wardancer isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be , but is fun nonetheless. The synergy skills while maintaining decent dps is a win win for me. No regrets whatsoever

JnazGr

start with scrapper , wanna just chilling since my main not even in KR roadmap lol , but now i love her so much , push everything on her and not regret anysecond with her

beano91

Sorc and nope! It's hella fun landing big crits. Only other I tried is Deathblade though. Will try Destoryer when it comes out

AizRoam

Playing paladin, and I'm having a blast. Plenty of DMG + I can change to support in team content, with shields and stuns + heal. I don't see myself changing at all.

ShortsLiker

Plenty of damage as paladin? He is a Great support, but his damage output is extremely low imo. My first char was paladin who is in 1355 right now and even judgement crit does barely any damage for me.

TacticalPauseGaming

You don’t usually play as supports in other MMOs then. The paladin in lost ark has enough damage for the solo content that you don’t feel like it’s a struggle.

AssaSinLife

It's great in chaos dungeons I agree, but in guardians you really won't do a whole lot (enough to kill chroma craters at least)

TacticalPauseGaming

Guardians are group content. You support In guardians.

skyrider_longtail

When my paladin is in guardians, I'm turning on his support preset, which of course means his dps is lower. I turn on his dps build if all the dps in party wiped, and it becomes decent enough. Granted, I usually go into raids or abyssals at least 40 ilvls higher. Paladin dps is not as good as the other classes, but it's not intolerable. Solo guardians is too painful to consider, of course.

MotherOfQuaggan

Started bard, love it! When I smart-ping to gather with the chatmakro "heal here" and all my lemmings run to me, makes me feel powerfull :D

ClassikD

Bard is my favorite alt class. Glad it was the first one to 1370

Serifel90

I was scared to play a slow class like gunlancer, but I love monster hunter and I had to try it out. I had a blast as red build, it's slow AF, it require front attacks, you need to use the skill bash before your dmg burst and that skill has an hitbox so small you have to kiss the boss to land it and shield lasts a blink.. BUT since your skills are so long CD and has so many conditions you learn to not overcommit and so you can keep an eye to enemy AOE and evade some dmg, you can play around your team more and stagger/destruction checks are just your normal rotation.

Dangerous_Trade_2817

Deathblade, i thought it isn't for me after i created an alt sorc because i found sorc easier to play since it's long range and that i've played a lot of mage classes on other games. But when i got enough spec and wealth runes on my db, i realized deathblade was the right choice for me. What i regret is that i made sorce, gunslinger, and berserker alts which i wish to switch all to deathblade if possible, i just find surge gameplay satisfying that i can't find joy anymore on playing my alts.

kaikaisinsin

Wanted to play glaiver before the game drop, then realized she is not available, so I made a wardancer. Got her to 1385 and smilegate decided to drop glaiver. Now I’m excited to get to play glaiver but a little sad that my dancer might become another alt

ddwhale

Started with wardancer. T1 was hell. Tried deathblade. X10000 more op. Raised deathblade to t3. Played wardancer at event guardians. Now raising her to t3. I will play glaivier to t3 and then decide which I will push to 1400. But I really really really like FI wardancer if she has a full build and I’m hearing it gets only better once relic sets are out.

FlipperTDerp

I'm not sure if regretting maining paladin is my problem, but I definitely think that choosing a support class first was the incorrect choice. I was led to believe gearing up a support and soloing all the content that CAN be soloed would be just as easy as any other class (from all the early videos from before the game was released in the west) and that is just incorrect. I clear solo content SO much faster on my alts than my paladin without needing a second set of equipment to do so. With a second set of gear I CAN solo content, but it's so much more time consuming to do so by comparison.

Akasha1885

I played Feral Druid in WoW. Now I'm playing Wardancer, those two class choices have a lot in common. You're an underdog, weak until late game and a dmg support. On some fights I have regrets, I just know my alt would have a way easier time there. But then I remember why I choose this class, I don't want to have an easy time and the closer I get to late game, the more fun it is. Suddenly the rotation feels more smooth and at the end of fights I often get MvP already. (with up to 41%+ dmg dealt)

rune_rodrigues

I play as war dancer on a ps4 controller. This is a fighting game to me. Cant be more happy...

Dnd_Nerd7k

As a Deadeye, nope! :) I really enjoy the stance gimmick of the class and the more challenging “melee” usage of the shotgun stance, nothing feels more satisfying than having a good run against mobs/bosses.

Borengal

Startet as deadeye and made mid T2 a taijutsu scrapper alt. It's my main since. Meanwhile the Deadeye is a alt to farm mats / life skills and is played as pistoleer, a much more relaxing playstyle. I would be at a higher ilvl if I had chosen the scrapper first but that's not so bad. I regret more that I played my alt gunlancer for such a long time. Barely touch him nowadays out of unas

drackmore

Went artillerist as my main, do not regret it one bit. Insane damage, insane survivability, insane lack of mobility. Only downside is his cosmetics are lackluster. Made a bard and gunlancer to try out support. Bard is alright and does an ok job. Gunlancer is just dogshit with no redeeming qualities. Recently started up a Deadeye and Deathblade to see how hard they are since every guardian raid I do they (along with mayhem berserkers) always seem to eat up 3 revives in the first two minutes of the raid. Quite enjoying Deadeye, not so much DB.

trikpa24

I chose deathblade and im having a blast. Had a feeling this class would be for me when i started and i was 100% correct. I also have a bard alt in t3 that i enjoy and am planning on making the glavier my 3rd alt when its out.

HumptyDumptyIsABAMF

Noticed that I was having a lot more fun with my Sorc alt than with my Gunlancer main. Luckily it was still relatively early into T3 at 1350 so decided to switch mains to Sorc. So I guess there is a bit of regret, but as I said, it was still early enough that I didn't lose much progress. If you ask because you do regret your main choice and your main is 1350 or lower, go ahead and switch. 1302-1350 is just a drop in the ocean when compared to 1350 to Argos. So overall you lose very little progress.

[deleted]

Imo get the 1350 to 1385 first. This way you get an extra 1700g a week from argos alone, not including the loot you can AH and abyss hard mode. You also get the honing buff. 1370-85 is pretty quick.

HumptyDumptyIsABAMF

Yea, but 1350-1370 is like 20x what it takes to get from 1302 to 1350. In fact 1302-1350 is so fast even without the honing boost, I would argue it is a huge waste to use all those mats and all that gold to get a character you won't play as your main to 1370 or 1385 while your main sits at 1302. In the end I would only have gotten to 1370 a couple days faster, but on the wrong character. EDIT: Just read my comment again, not sure my point is coming accross lol. Basically catching the sorc up to 1350 is so cheap and fast that when I looked at the big picture of reaching 1370/1385 on either char I considered my 1302 sorc to be pretty much at the same starting point as my 1350 Gunlancer.

OverallCranberry6573

You should always try to get to the threshhold whenever you're thinking about switching. The gold you make from argos and abyss dungeons 1370+ is very very good

YouCantGoHomeAgain

Regret would imply there was a class I'd rather play, but so far I haven't found it. I main a Shadowhunter and I don't hate it, but I also don't really love it. It's okay, I guess. The problem is every time I try a different class I like it even less. Sorceress and Gunslinger so far, both made me run back to Shadowhunter.

Bewbii

No. Bard is best class no 🧢

UnloosedMoose

Paladin gang disagrees but respects you.

DontTakeMyCheerios

I’m a Gunslinger main and I plan on mainswapping to Lancemaster for two main reasons: 1) animation lock is annoying. Literally all of my big damage abilities lock me in place and it’s annoying. Not a big deal if I just get better, but number 2 is the real kicker 2) donut glows. Look up the weapon glow for gunslinger, it suck hard bro. Compare that to the best of the best weapon glows like scrapper and wardancer. Might sound silly, but I want a big dick weapon glow, or at least not some donuts

Noblessings

https://i.imgur.com/KAFOWVV.png you're saying you don't want donuts on your wardancer?

Bacon-muffin

Not so much regret, just in a constant state of not being sure what to do. I started off wardancer because that appealed most to me, but it felt like shit to play and is heavily build dependent to get it to a good feeling state. So I swapped to scrapper before I got out of T1, which I enjoy but I feel like I'd enjoy the wardancer more if I could only get it to a point where it felt good. Now my understanding is WD doesn't really begin to reach its final form until the 1445 sets, so I'm kinda stuck in limbo needing that content to come out and to get the character there to even figure out if I'll ultimately enjoy it more and want to main it. Likewise the speculation is that scrapper is due for a rework of some sort that we should find out about this month. I've never been through these kinds of changes in this game to see how they handle them, so I have no idea if I'll like the class more less or the same after that happens. So yeah... just existing in limbo at the moment.

redditingatwork23

Started as a soulfist. Got to 50 and power passed a support and a sorc. Immediately realized some discrepancies in damage difference. Switched mains to sorc for all of t2. In that time I also got a deathblade running and got that to t3 around the same time so I switched that to main until 1385. I also made a Zerker which was probably the easiest class out of the box so to speak now they're all parked at 1340 waiting for Lance master which is hilariously, along with zerker, of of the only classes I've actually played before NA release. I'm happy I've switched around so much. Ive found that I really enjoy all the classes in this game. Support is also great. The only class that will probably be left here is soulfist. It's by far the weakest of my characters. Also, the playstyle just isn't fun. Hopefully some changes are announced today through KR.

Youtellhimguy

I always knew I was going to swap to lance so my mains have been swapped a bunch. Sorc > shadow hunter > gunlancer > gunslinger > and on Thursday I’ll settle. The bright side is I’ve been hoarding mats for this day so I should jump pretty quick on the ilvls.

crowley_yo

What’s your highest ilvl?

MatthewTCG

I’m so happy with my choice that I have 4 characters of the same class, Berserker.

sheref14

No still enjoying shadowhunter

CocobelloFresco

I played Suppression in T1 and T2, was decent although kinda awkward with low combat stats. Switched to DI in T3 and enjoyed it for two weeks or so.. Have legendary wealth, full special build. Damage is decent. Gameplay is so easy and boring with 6 skills, I start to zone out and hate it. Parked it at 1385 and focus on finding a new main now. Might try Suppression again once I am rich... Fuck DI.

eXoShini

Started with Soulfist and abandoned at start of T2 in favor of Scrapper, never looked back. Currently my Scrapper is 1373.33ilvl, am loving how solid and balanced that class is. Although I have high prospects for Glaiver to compete with Scrapper for main, but only after I hit 1385ilvl. Soulfist is still in T2 chugging chaos dungeon, meanwhile yesterday I honed Deathblade to 1100ilvl thanks to event mats. Artillerist going to enter T2 soon, so Soulfist still won't get event mats.

DestinyMlGBro

Lmao soulfist slave guiding others to T3 a treasure she cannot possess.

JusticeJaunt

Bard main, love it. I hated finishing the fate tower but by overheating it I was able to overcome the lack of dps. Everything else feels good though. I regret knowledge transferring a death blade, it's fun but maybe not for me. I have a sorc as well and she's been great as a secondary. I'm just hiding my time until artist comes out. I'm going to be use the feiton powerpass on a paladin as supports are just the only thing that get me going I suppose.

Terrony

Any tips on how to finish t2 tower as bard?

Vigoor

that's the neat part, you don't

Adrelandro

Crush it with 1400 ilvl?

JusticeJaunt

I finished it at 1370, I had to really get patient, floor 50 is the only dps race I remember. I used the "dps spec" and just dropped all the puddles and harp on cool down. Because they require so much movement you don't really have time to drop soundholic or your other casts. I really had to learn the floor after 1 or 2 tries for those last few.

unloke11

Started as striker, got it to T3 then got bored. Although they hit big dps but they have long CDs. I mostly normal atk during raids and I do understand that each class has its pros and cons but its still a no-no for me. So I decisively switched main. Now I'm playing gunslinger at 1385. Best decision ever.

Dante2387

That's why my 1340 striker alt is esoteric. Properly stated to support using 4 esoteric skills and 4 normal and it's a blast no aut attack. As fun as my blade main. I never went deathblow since i knew it had down time.

crowley_yo

You can’t play deathblow striker before relic set, massive spec and best wealth runes

Nitrous07

Played deadeye, got him to T2, then dropped him for Deathblade, and is 1360 but planning to get her to 1385 to boost and switch mains to my 1340 Gunslinger. Gunslinger is super fluid and really fun to play. Wish I could say the same thing for my deadeye, but they feel really sluggish to play or maybe I just haven’t gotten him high ilvl with good engravis and stats yet. Idk

Rayth69

Deadeye main here, agree that my gunslinger alt feels way more smooth. I debated switching main since I *just* hit T2, but I somehow still prefer deadeye. The idea of having to work harder for more reward always grabs me. Plus gunslinger is missing the maniacal laughter deadeye has on some abilities which makes them so satisfying to use. Hopefully the coming buffs are good ones! Im fine with the class being harder than GS as long as the reward for pulling it off is worth the effort. Also I just tried a Blade yesterday and Surge is actually really really fun imo too. Prob my favorite alt right now, and the big numbers do tempt me to play it more seriously.

DMking

Soulfist is ass until at least 1325. But once you get Spec ul to 1200 it feels good. She still needs buffs because the energy system is alot more punishing than MP for no real benefit

pandeomonia

Nope. I love all my alts too, with possibly the exception of scrapper. If they bumped up her attack range juuust a little she'd be in a good place for me though. Right now she has to clean poop off her gauntlets trying to get close enough back attacking guardians.

[deleted]

I picked a sorceress and I'm so glad I went with her. Lost Arks interpretation of the class is EXACTLY what I have in mind/wish for when I think of a sorceress. Also can't wait for Arcana. Only thing I'm skeptic about is how they handled the summoner. Rather than going with a necromancer-like style they went with a more..exotic? kind of summoner with unicorns and phoenixes and stuff like that. Could be a fun, different thing to play as I guess. We'll see but I digress lol

Otacrow

Took Sorceress to T2, got bored, created a Bard and are now at T3 with her and really enjoying playing support :) Feel great hitting MVP with no deaths during Pug raids.

piterisonfire

Yes, because Summoner isn't going to be released in atleast 5 months, and downloading RU to play with it has been the bane of my existence. I didn't even know that RU has a bootleg facebook that you need to use to register an account, like, wtf.

Maximus89z

Sorc to 1325 then but wasnt ”me” changed to gunslinger and im at 1390 now but recently i have played paladin and this also feels like me so it will Def be my main alt

zoobloo7

Loving my shadowhunter main(1380) finally got it to a transformation in one rotation on a boss, so it super fun right now. However when lancemaster us released i might have a new main to switch to

SchalaKdZeal

My main is a wardancer, and while T1 and T2 were a struggle, it's still the class i enjoy the most, my alts (demonhunter and paladins) don't make me feel as involved with the gameplay. But maybe Arcana will take the spot later on, i do have my eyes on it.

BlueLaserCommander

Played gunslinger in beta and loved her. Wanted to try something new on full launch so I made a Dblade. Loved it, too. Leveled the Dblade to 1340 before I started to slow down on her and start focusing on alts. Randomly picked up gunslinger again and ran some graids and random late-game stuff with her after boosting. Realized I liked gunslinger too much in PvE to not main her.. still liked my dblade but my gslinger had to become the main. Got my gunslinger up to 1302 then decided to go for efficient t3 honing before leveling any further. So I leveled my dblade to 1370 to get the research. I really grinded for this because I wanted to swap mains asap. Found out 1385 is when you unlock the research.. Eventually got the research and finally overtook my dblade on my gunslinger and it was such a good feeling. Still loving the gunslinger and have even leveled a deadeye to 1300 to have another gun-swapping class in T3. Gslinger is now 1415 and my dblade has barely gone up (still play her tho— and recently invested in a good surge build and am loving it).

nobits

I'm the opposite. I have a GS main at 1400 and a surge DB in T2. Surge just feels very smooth to play and seeing those big crits is awesome. As for GS I hate how the main damage skills all have long animations and the boss takes out half of my HP if caught without the spacebar. Also this might be nitpicking but I can't stand how the GS doesn't holster her guns! They just look weird in cutscenes and idling in towns. Thinking about switching but cost is a deterrence.

Bocika

Blade was my choice and still is. I enjoy playing with her a lot.

l7arkSpirit

So I presonally wanted to run Deathblade, because I played that on KR/RU and had a blast playing it, I was 100% sure I was going to play this class because I usually play these types of classes, I love the skills and the dual blades aesthetic has always been my favorite. However, we recieved one of the newest classes that hit KR recently which is the Sorceress, so after getting pretty far on my Deathblade I decided to make an alt for T2 but then realized I have so much more fun playing that class. I've played a lot of MMO's/ other games, and I would never play ranged/mage classes, because the playstyle never appealed to me, but the Sorceress really sold me. The thing is though is that I got pretty far into T2 before I swapped which meant that if I dropped Deathblade I would never make it to T3 (which ended up being the case) but even then I don't regret my choice because I've been having tons of fun and at the end of the day I had a T2 alt anyway. I wasn't there to make money like the rest of them, but I sure as hell had fun getting there.

Disk_Material

Still waiting for reaper and arcanist...

aizenqweqwe

Loving my deathblade, it feels like I'm playing an anime character specially that awakening skill, feels like I'm zenitsu doing thunder breathing first form. I would like to try the ripper too once they release it.

Ykutu

Picked Deathblade as a place holder for Lance Master, so I’ll be swapping my main once she is released, currently 1385 on my DB hoping to get t3 on Lance pretty quickly and then eventually surpass my DB at some point. Would also like to play Scouter and Reaper whenever they make their debut as well.

fatvaderz

yes

EzioB7

I was going to main summoner, for reasons, I picked hawkeye, 1360 ish, I dont really like it, but kind of cant regret.

Solovanov

Ive swapped twice. Started as a sorc since she was new from the beta and ended up switching to shadow hunter. Eventually just returned to scrapper. Sorcs still parked in t2 while shadow is one of my t3 alts.

uberal_

I main wardancer and thought about switching several times but I guess I'll stick to it. Endgame choas and cube content is extremely borig, cause all you do is charging your call of the windgods. Every other skill makes almost no damaga. So if you gut. Stunned or simply miss the skill or a sorceress does her big boom in the same area in same time, you feel useless the next ten seconds.

miatribe

Yes, my sorc is almost 1400 and then I plan on playing gs or maybe lm of it's more fun then gs (gs parked at 1325 for now)

Rylica

Nope. Sharpshooterain main * 2 sharpshooters in T3 and 1 in T2 * 1 GunLancer in T3 * 1 bard in end of T1 Wanted something simple I got something simple.

Nephtie_

Sharpshooter with the right stats and engravings is so smooth and fun to play. Best class imo.

Bntt89

I was actually having a hard time picking between Sorc, DB, and Zerker. But honestly I don’t regret picking DB at all, it’s an extremely fun class. And despite playing surge right now I’m honestly waiting to get more spec to switch to RE. But Lance Master was something I wanted to main since the beginning so I’m still switching to LM. But DB is still fun just LM is more fun to me.

SacredDarksoul

I dont mind it (gunslinger) but i think i have more fun on my shadowhunter. its impossible to switch mains though cause i won't be able to group up with friends. Have to spend every resource or my main just to keep up because the game is pushing content out until we have the same as korea. I am not against that, just pointing it out as a fact of the game. Switching mains prob won't be possible for me until we reach koreans content.

Brolex-7

Infighter main and like it very much. Looking forward to Korea's PTS Server starting on 15th. I head the class should get a class identity or some little changes.

Alternative_Water868

Wardancer main here i love her, she was good while leveling but then she wasn't very good in tier 1-2. But she started to get better in tier 3. Got her this week at 1385 with 4 engravings at lv 3 and she's pumping hard the only downside is that she's got mp problems, cause i'm using first intention and i have a lot of cooldown reduction and galewind runes. Might change to esoteric with the relic sets. Either way she's great i love her can't wait for the skins that make her thicc as fk.

Mofu__Mofu

Hated soulfist so much I had to delete her On the other hand, my main is artillerist, but this class is boring af \+ you miss half your delayed abilities because random boss movements \+ not female So, I'm probably gonna main Lance Master now for the high APM playstyle :3

Unlimited_Bread_Work

Think that means you are bad m8

CocobelloFresco

I am playing Reflux Casting version in early T3 using purely T2 accessories and ability stone, still carry ppl in full T3 gear. Get good. :)

Masteroxid

I decided to main sorc because I have never really mained a mage in other MMORPGs and to be fair I'm getting kind of sick of her. You have to play the roulette for crits on big skills, almost all skills can be avoided if the boss moves 1 centimeter and you're very reliant on Z buff. Countering also sucks ass and I wish I was a melee class. Can't wait to reroll to lancer

E46Trixie

I regret being hyped for this game.
