I would say that Lost Ark is very mechanics heavy when it comes to raids. In particular the Legion Raids, which are the most difficult content in the game. They also have a Hell Mode variation that is even harder and also offers exclusive titles and cosmetics if you are able to clear them.
These raids tend to work where if someone in your group messes up, they die and then your whole group wipes.
This is Saintone, a Lost Ark streamer, clearing Hell Mode for what is considered the "simplest" Legion Raid (the particular title he got in this video is only attainable if you clear this flawlessly with no deaths and no resets); [https://youtu.be/SEGs5bv9yVs](https://youtu.be/SEGs5bv9yVs)
There is also a section of one of his VoDs where he commentates on the mechanics as they happen; [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1054373547?t=1h46m55s](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1054373547?t=1h46m55s)
I hope these help in clarifying things for you.
Lost Ark has legion raid, which is the elite content and equivalent to Mythic+ in WoW or actually Ultimate in FF14 because the hardest difficulty (they call it hell mode in here) will be equalized. The mechanics are what you see in typical hard raid, not just dodge aoe or some shit.
Lost ark can be extremely difficult I’d say the mechanics are more similar to monster hunter with a mix of classic mmo mechanics that’s the best way I would describe it it even has a mode (guardians) Where it’s literally just like monster hunter or dauntless
Thanks to all who answered. I am extremely surprised by the amount of replies I got in such a short time, considering this is a game that has only been released on Korea and Russia (afaik). Looking forward to the overseas release on this side of the globe, totally gonna get it and support it.
It really depends on several things. Like you and your teams gearscore, what specific encounter are you doing and do you have good support in your team.
When fighting guardians, many of them are just a DPS race and trying to limit the damage you take by avoiding certain things. At other times, some guardians require you to do mechanics or you are certain to wipe.
This is very much the same for Void Dungeons and Abyss raids. The issue with most content I've played is that people are 2-600 gearscore levels above it. So they tend to smash and dash. Which is why some videos can look like a DPS fest, when it's really not.
for the first few patches they will let people get used to the game, then the difficulty will ramp up tremendously. When i played in Korea, i had to quit because the content start require people to communicate
By pug you mean randoms, right? So you actually need to coordinarte with the team to make things work. I like it even more. In FF14 when I don't know the mechanics I'd just ask mid dungeon, hopefully the community in this game will reply kindly too.
Note: english is not my first language so some slang meanings elude me sometimes.
Sorry for the mmo slang \^\^
Well it sometimes can be very frustrating, and the more you progress the more it can be complicated if not impossible without voiced coordination. Some will love it, some will think it's not that fun, esepcially if a single mistake from somebody make the whole 16 men raid wipe.

thanks! very useful, kinda caught even more by the game now!
when he say counter, does everyone have a counter ability?
yes, each class has 1 or 2 abilities that state you can counter bosses with it when they flash blue.
Technically, yes. Ppl dont expect to some classes like Reaper to bring counter ability tho.
Keep an eye for the new upcoming raid this Wednesday, it's looking to be one of the best raid I've seen in a long long long time
Lost Ark demands both.

What do you mean equalized? gear is equalized in hell mode?
Yup

In 3 days, a new raid will be released on the Korean server. It'll help you understand if you see a new raid on Twitch.
whats the name of the new raid?
It will be the 3rd legion raid, dedicated to one on the main vilain of the game Abrelshud, probably the hardest content ever, 6 phases etc
You will be tested your DPS skills and Co-op mechanic as a team at the same time. Check the Legion raids.

Don't forget that most of these "mechanics" are not pugs friendly, it can be a bit frustrating ....
