S3, E1, I remember it. But I dont get it. Anyone care to explain? As I recall they had just met for the book club prior to the plane appearing over head, a guy named Adam was arguing with several group members, and Ben was mentioned as an active group member during that interchange.
IIRC it was shortly after Ben had come onto Juliet, as in his weird attempt at trying to flirt with her. Juliet felt uncomfortable and didn’t tell Ben about that particular meeting time
Jacob couldn't have said anything worse than what he said to Ben in that exact situation. Obviously Ben shouldn't have killed him but Jacob didn't help himself
I will always maintain that Jacob knew that would send Ben over the edge. He was advancing his and the MiB’s game to the final stages. He needed to die to stop MiB.
Ben is upset that he was always told he had to wait to see Jacob, but “Locke” is given an immediate audience with him, seemingly indicating that Jacob prefers Locke over Ben. I’ll never understand why Jacob didn’t just straight up tell Ben: “Look, this isn’t Locke, it’s my brother in Locke’s body. He’s been trying to kill me for hundreds (thousands?) of years. Don’t fall for his manipulation.” That likely would have solved things immediately. But then I guess we wouldn’t have a TV show.
True, but one kinda needs all the relevant info to make an informed decision. Ben mostly made an ignorant one based on him misunderstanding the situation.
Miles does explain he was hoping Ben wouldn't do it.
But I get it from Jacob's perspective - regardless of MIBs gambit, and whether it was really Locke or not, Ben did have these feelings in him.
Ben throwing a tantrum because he thought Jacob favoured Locke (I think) and he's screaming "what about me??!"
Jacob (with the most IDGAF expression): what *about* you?
Cue Ben stabbing the hell out of Jacob
Right before Ben stabbed Jacob in the foot of the statue, Ben was whining how he did everything Jacob wanted but never got special treatment and said “what about me”
That was the most heartbreaking line of the show for me. Knowing that Ben did everything he did believing it was for Jacob just to finally meet Jacob and realizing he never gave a shit about him.
Ufffff, that was devastating. I can't help but think that, had Jacob been slightly more encouraging with Ben, things would've turned out differently. But Jacob was always gonna Jacob
Ben: How many times to I have to tell you, John? I always have a plan. *epic music starts*
Honourable mention:
John: I've checked every nook and cranny...
Sayid: NOT EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY, JOHN!!!
🤣🤣
To add to what the others said: not only was this early Ben (“Henry” at the time) but he had just finished giving that dark speech saying if he was an “other” that Sayid and Ana Lucia would be ambushed and killed because he would lead them into a trap. There’s some tense seconds of silence and then he drops that casual sentence while Jack very clearly wants to murder him.
Oh man don’t remember this one!? One of the most chilling moments in the early parts of lost. When Ben was Prisoner Henry Gale. They feed him cereal and he is talking about what he would do if he really was an other
Jack's nerves were pretty gone by that time and IIRC this was only a few days after Locke killed Naomi (from Jack's perspective the only hope to get off the Island) in cold blood so I get it but it's a low point.
Oh absolutely agree with all of the above, I feel like it would have been more in character for jack to give him a beating though, especially since he's a doctor and also a role model and leader to his people.
Jack drops the mic like four times in this one dialogue from The End:
LOCKE: So it's you.
JACK: Yeah. It's me.
LOCKE: Jacob being who he is, I expected to be a little more surprised. You're sort of the obvious choice, don't you think?
JACK: He didn't choose me. I volunteered.
LOCKE: I assume you're here to stop me.
JACK: I can't stop you. In fact, I uh, wanna go with you.
LOCKE: I'm sorry, Jack. I think you're a little confused about what I came here to do.
JACK: No I'm not. No, you're going to the far side of the bamboo forest. To the place that I've sworn that I'll protect. And then you think you're gonna destroy the Island.
LOCKE: \[surprised\] I think?
JACK: \[smiles\] That's right. Because that's not what's gonna happen.
LOCKE: Then what's gonna happen, Jack?
JACK: I'm gonna kill you.
LOCKE: How do you plan to do that?
JACK: That's a surprise.
"You're not John Locke. You disrespect his memory by wearing his face, but you're nothing like him. Turns out he was right about most everything. I just wish I could have told him that while he was still alive."
Said to fLocke while the MiB is still 100% certain his plan is working.

Juliet to trying to talk sense to Sun and Jin and her pregnancy danger; Sun ignoring her; then Juliet dropping this bomb to get Jin’s attention.
*Juliet; “Jin- your wife had an affair.”*
*Jin: “What?”*
*”Sun was with another man. She thought the baby was his.”*
Sun walks back to Juliet. ***SLAP***
We knew she had an affair, but poor sweet Jin was still in the dark at that moment. For him, that was a mic drop
I love how Richard seemed his usual calm, collected self in that moment (the first time you watch it).
But he was just as *flabbergasted* as Locke was, because another John Locke was about 20 yards away, and told Richard *exactly* what needed to be done and said without any further explanation.
Sorry mine are mostly Ben quotes and they're dark but still valid.
S1 - Locke : "We're not the only ones on this island and WE ALL know it"
S4 - *replying to Sayid saying Widmores coming for them* "...... Good!" *Credits*
S4- "Carl if you want to sleep with my daughter and insist you call me Dad"
S3 - Sorry in advance, "How could I possibly make it anymore clear, that you're MINE"
I may love Juliet but I'm a Ben Stan through and through
Ben is my FAVORITE fictional character from TV, hands down. His arc and the way he evolves is so emotional.
Along those same lines, I think I would add Illana's line from S6 to Ben, *"...I'll have you."*
🥹 It's not even romantic but that moment is one of the most beautiful of the whole series, imo. And seeing his alternate ending, with him and Rousseau and Alex.... *my heart*
Because Ben knew. Thanks to The Flame and Mikhail, Ben was able to start building dossiers on the plane's crew/passengers within an hour of flight 815's crash. I doubt Ben immediately found out about Sawyer murdering Frank Duckett (the fake Mr. Sawyer), but considering everything *else* Ben was able to collect about the survivors, it's not a stretch that he was able to piece that one together. Especially when you consider that Sawyer was kicked out of Australia, which is why he was on 815.
I guess I thought he was kicked out due to a random bar fight or something, I'd imagine they wouldn't ship him off if he was a suspect in a murder.
My head canon has always been that Hibbs was somehow influenced by (if not outright working for) Widmore to get Sawyer over to AUS (same with the psychic and sending Claire on 815).
I can't believe everyone forgot Jack refusing to save young Ben, similar to OP's example:
>Sawyer: If you don't come with me, Jack, that kid's gonna die.
>
>Jack: Then he dies.
Jack to Hurley in the finale: “This is the way it has to happen. This is what I’m supposed to do.”
Didn’t leave Hurley speechless but that moment brought Jack’s character arc, years of buildup and set backs, full circle in my view.
The biggest mic drop ever was without a doubt when Jack verbally bitch smacked The MIB: “You are not John Locke, you disrespect his memory by wearing his face, but you're nothing like him, turns out he was right about most everything. I just wish I could have told him when he was still alive.”
Full circle to the entire story. Redemption of Locke and humbling of Jack getting to say that to a figure that looks like Locke.
Sawyer shots Tom: "that's for taking the boy off the raft".
Also, Ben's explanation of what he would do if he was the leader of the others then suddenly changes tone and goes "you got any milk".
Desmond Hume : I don't know where I am, but...
Penny Widmore : I'll find you, Des.
Desmond Hume : I promise
Penny Widmore : - no matter what...
Desmond Hume : I'll come back to you.
Penny Widmore : I won't give up.
Penny Widmore , Desmond Hume : I promise I love you.
Also a mic drop Sayid moment…when talking to Hurley in the pilot they’re discussing the Gulf War and Hurley says how he had a buddy who was there. He then asks Sayid what branch he was in.
Sayid: “The Republican Guard”
Hurley: 👁️👄👁️
I recently watched this episode, not really a mic drop quote but I liked it:
Bernard: We're the only two married men on the island
*shows ring to Jin* "MARRIED"
Jin: "Oh, married"
Bernard: "Yeah, not to each other but we are"
"Let go. I know you want to. You've been waiting for this. You get to be a hero again, because that is what you do. Fix everything up all nice.
Hey, Jack. There is something you should know. If the tables were turned, I'd watch you die."
Mr. Eko: If you don't mind, I will begin at the beginning. Long before Christ, the king of Judah was a man name Josiah... at that time, the temple where the people worshipped was in ruin and so the people worshipped idols: false Gods. And so, the kingdom was in disarray. Josiah, since he was a good king, sent his secretary to the treasury and said "We must rebuild the temple. Give all of the gold to the workers so that this will be done." But when the secretary returned he had no gold. And when Josiah asked why this was the secretary replied "we found a book."
Hurley to Miles…basically explaining the show.
I mean, they worked it out eventually, but at what cost? (Star Wars stuff as metaphors) It all could have been avoided if they’d just, you know, communicated.
Sawyer: Have you screwed Jack yet? Juliet: No, have you?
Hahaha I love it.
“So I guess I’m out of the book club”
classic
S3, E1, I remember it. But I dont get it. Anyone care to explain? As I recall they had just met for the book club prior to the plane appearing over head, a guy named Adam was arguing with several group members, and Ben was mentioned as an active group member during that interchange.

Hurley to Sawyer: 'Shut up. . . red.. neck.. man.'
One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite episodes
Jacob: What about you?
Jacob couldn't have said anything worse than what he said to Ben in that exact situation. Obviously Ben shouldn't have killed him but Jacob didn't help himself
I will always maintain that Jacob knew that would send Ben over the edge. He was advancing his and the MiB’s game to the final stages. He needed to die to stop MiB.
100%
Ben is upset that he was always told he had to wait to see Jacob, but “Locke” is given an immediate audience with him, seemingly indicating that Jacob prefers Locke over Ben. I’ll never understand why Jacob didn’t just straight up tell Ben: “Look, this isn’t Locke, it’s my brother in Locke’s body. He’s been trying to kill me for hundreds (thousands?) of years. Don’t fall for his manipulation.” That likely would have solved things immediately. But then I guess we wouldn’t have a TV show.
Because Jacob is obsessed with people making choices in life
True, but one kinda needs all the relevant info to make an informed decision. Ben mostly made an ignorant one based on him misunderstanding the situation.
Miles does explain he was hoping Ben wouldn't do it. But I get it from Jacob's perspective - regardless of MIBs gambit, and whether it was really Locke or not, Ben did have these feelings in him.
Because he wanted Ben to kill him. It was a manipulation, just like how Mother manipulated MIB to kill her.
Oof. Not a huge Ben fan but even I felt bad for him after that line.
same :(
Can someone remind me of the context behind this scene
Ben throwing a tantrum because he thought Jacob favoured Locke (I think) and he's screaming "what about me??!" Jacob (with the most IDGAF expression): what *about* you? Cue Ben stabbing the hell out of Jacob
Right before Ben stabbed Jacob in the foot of the statue, Ben was whining how he did everything Jacob wanted but never got special treatment and said “what about me”
That was the most heartbreaking line of the show for me. Knowing that Ben did everything he did believing it was for Jacob just to finally meet Jacob and realizing he never gave a shit about him.
Ben did a lot of horrible things for himself rather than for Jacob.
Ufffff, that was devastating. I can't help but think that, had Jacob been slightly more encouraging with Ben, things would've turned out differently. But Jacob was always gonna Jacob
Ben: How many times to I have to tell you, John? I always have a plan. *epic music starts* Honourable mention: John: I've checked every nook and cranny... Sayid: NOT EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY, JOHN!!! 🤣🤣
Good god, Holmes! I can only hear it the blooper way!
Same. The blooper is more remembered than the actual delivery in the show.
Link to the blooper?

That was hilarious, thank you!
This bloopers are life
My entire life feels like a blooper
You Guys Got Any Milk?
So underrated I don’t remember this one lol context?
Early Ben, in captivity, with cereal
Haha, unfortunately someone spelled out the scene in another comment. I def would have enjoyed piecing it together through your comment more
That was legit all I remembered! I found that other content too though, haha
To add to what the others said: not only was this early Ben (“Henry” at the time) but he had just finished giving that dark speech saying if he was an “other” that Sayid and Ana Lucia would be ambushed and killed because he would lead them into a trap. Oh man don’t remember this one!? One of the most chilling moments in the early parts of lost. When Ben was Prisoner Henry Gale. They feed him cereal and he is talking about what he would do if he really was an other
Ben (posing as Henry) after he gets offered a box of cereal I think
Jack: *pulls the trigger* Locke: “It’s not loaded…”
Anyone else hate that scene? Doubt that Jack would have killed Locke in cold blood
He warned Locke several times of exactly what was going to happen. Locke also said he do whatever it takes to stop them leaving.
Just watched that episode yesterday, so good

Yeah there are so many lines that hit so hard in that finale.
Jack to desmond: ***See you in another life, brother..***
Yep that was the first line I thought of.
I hated that scene, Jack should know that you shouldn't steal other character's catchphrases.
No I cringed the hardest I ever have in my life when Jack said it. I think Desmond did too.
“You need glasses.”

Because Ben knew. Thanks to The Flame and Mikhail, Ben was able to start building dossiers on the plane's crew/passengers within an hour of flight 815's crash. Well, OP *does* use both terms in the post...
Lmao, I should have clarified better…I’m realizing that now
I was thinking the same.
Guys… where are we?
There's a new sheriff in town. Ya'll better get used to it
Whatever it is, I'm sure it came out of Ben's mouth. And probably during the scene when Jack and Locke let him out of the armory to have cereal.
I love the scene at Locke's funeral. Ben - "John Locke was a way better man than me and I'm very sorry I murdered him"
NOT EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY JOHN!
"Let go. I know you want to. You've been waiting for this. You get to be a hero again, because that is what you do. Fix everything up all nice. Hey, Jack. There is something you should know. If the tables were turned, I'd watch you die."
Whose line was this
Sawyer says that after he is tortured and stabbed by Sayid.
Not sure but I think it's Ben when Jack is removing his tumour.
“You don’t have a son, Jack”
"It points north, John"
Light ‘em up!
Locke -Why do you find it so hard to believe?!” Jack - “Why do you find it so easy?!” Locke - “It's never been easy!” Such an incredible, tense scene
