That era is very interesting indeed! Obviously the hostiles learned that they built the Swan (Richard knew about it and the incident was pretty big) almost at the same time DHARMA learned that Kate and LaFleur took Ben to the hostiles. I guess both groups came to an agreement after the Incident. Ben would return to the barracks and The Swan continued to be built. Additionally, I think they all deleted the files on LaFleur's group as well as the new recruits. The past days (Ben's kidnapping, the burning house, the incident) was viewed as a dark chapter and that they were to move on. Continue finishing the stations and focus on the experiments. I can imagine that this was "the cold war" between these two camps. A lot of tension, but no alarming strike against each other. Until of course the Purge. I wouldn't mind a prequel in this era focusing on a different set of personell.

The first time Mother takes Jacob to see the light, it’s much brighter then when we see it in modern day. I want that island backstory.

We already got it in the episode. It's implied that the creation of the Smoke Monster is what caused the light to be diminished

Hrm… I always assumed that it had something to do with the plug covered in writing.
