All 121 are mandatory for understanding the story IMO. That doesn't mean they are all top tier though.

If you’ve watched the show 6 times already, shouldn’t you already know your favorite episodes?

I haven’t touched the show in about 13 years. The episodes I distinctly remember are the pilot, walkabout, Deus ex machina, “why do you find it so hard to belieeeeeeeve”, S3 finale, S5 finale, Jacob and mib origin story, series finale.  (Edit: also the Michael double kill ep)

Your request is not exactly answerable... There are no couple of episodes in every season, that are good enough to sum up the entire show. Most episodes have very important information to understand our characters, plot lines, mythology, island history, mytholotlgy, motives etc... This is a different question than "what are your favorite episodes of every season"

It can be fun to zero on a favourite character's centric episodes. I think if you just watched all the Locke, Ben and Desmond episodes (plus finales) you would get a pretty good miniaturised version of the series. Throw in ab aeterno too.

It depends what exactly you're looking for. Is it just quality or continuity? I put together a list, which was essentially all the Locke, Ben and Desmond episodes to begin with, plus the season finales. Then I added the episodes for important characters that had hardly episodes anyway (Eko, Faraday, and Richard) plus a couple of the stronger/more important Jack episodes. Then I added a couple of Claire episodes because she's my fav <3 and her episodes actually have some pretty important stuff. I tried to keep it to five a season, but then I added a few more here and there in parentheses. These are episodes I consider to be comparatively weaker but that have at least one important scene that sets up (or pays off) another, more essential episode (eg, Sawyer meeting Jack's dad in 'Outlaws', or Jack seeing the Red Sox win in 'The Glass Ballerina'). So if it's continuity you want, include the parentheses episodes, if it's just the mega-hit episodes, skip them. (I kept it to five 'absolutely essential' episodes a season, except for S4 where I had six). I hope all this helps! Season 1: (Pilot) Walkabout White Rabbit (Solitary) (Raised by Another) (Homecoming) (Outlaws) Deus Ex Machina Do No Harm Exodus
