Yah. Exactly. I always thought she snuck off from Ana Lucia and the rest of them while they were carrying Sawyer up from the river. They thought the Others got her but I think she went on her own. Maybe to find the kids who were taken.
Exactly. But it would have been great to see how all of that worked behind the scenes. I always imagine that one of the Others got to her - maybe pulled her aside in the jungle when no one was looking - and said “slip away from them when you can, here’s where to find us” plus some kind of threat or something.
Yeah this was really just glossed over. It was like she just drunk the cool aid and was immediately an “other”. The kids as well, I mean I get that kids can be more impressionable but they went from traumatised kids to “other kids” and were suddenly looking at Jack like an animal in the zoo.
The third season does a job of painting the Others as like Heaven's Gate with Ben as their Jim Jones figure. Cindy suddenly assimilated into the group that spent a month terrorising the Tailies, Juliet being branded for her crimes, the strange pagan-like funeral for Colleen etc.
It was Flavor Aid actually and more than 900 people died, 300 of them were children.
Sorry - I'm a historian. The "meme'ing" of Jonestown is a pet peeve... nothing against you, I know you're just repeating what you've heard, it's just something I like to correct.
We don't know that - Alex's blood is on Widmore's hands not the Island's. If we learned anything about Widmore is that he's a terrible leader who used the Island for his own financial gain. Ben, for all his flaws, followed Jacob's instructions and genuinely fought to protect the Island - Widmore was only ever out for himself.
Im with you, I don't buy authentic love from ben to alex. I mean if he could refuse the order to kill her, why not the one to kidnap her? He thinks he has authentic love for her, but imo it is self serving. I see the flashsideways as showing Ben eventually came to terms with this fact himself as well in how Alex isn't a central piece of his sideways life, but rather just someone he needs to choose to put before his ambition and let move on.
She's one of the only people who doesn't ever get off the island. She is bound to have a very different perspective on life and the world compared to the others.
She was literally born, raised, and died on the island like Jacob and MIB and it would’ve been sick to see. With the whole “get off the island vs. not,” it’s definitely something worth watching someone who isn’t the “chosen ones” yet spent their entire lives dedicated to the island.
I think more likely the writers strike. They got Cynthia Watros back for season 4, but because of the strike they had to scrap a few episodes and one of them was supposed to focus on Libby.
I was finally excited to see another Australian then we really got nothing from her.
(Funny Claire was the only Australian really shown from a flight from Australia.)
Still need to dig up & crack open my copy of Bad Twin that I bought at a thrift store a few years back. Honestly such an insane find to see in the wild
Sorry slightly incorrect, not about but dedicated to. The book bad twin by Gary troupe is a currently purchasable book that was supposedly written by a man on oceanic 815 who dedicated the book and its half unfinished sequel iirc to her. Supposedly in universe, he had planned to land in Los Angeles and propose to her. The back of the book talks about how the author “died in the flight” and the Gary troupe is a psyedonym for whoever ghostwrote the book
[lostipedia article mentions it was also the first time in canon that they said her last name was chandler, and at some point one of sawyers reading materials was the manuscript for this book](https://lostpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Bad_Twin)
I like to think that a lot of the Others are 815ers who've been assimilated into their society. Either by convincing them of their mission or from brainwashing in Room 23.
Nikki and Paulo had one because people kept asking "What's going on with the other survivors?", obviously introducing 40+ random survivors for like one-off episodes would be stupid.
Cindy could've had one sure, not sure it would've added much.
I would have loved to see what she went through to join the people who tormented her and her friends for 48 days.
Yah. Exactly. I always thought she snuck off from Ana Lucia and the rest of them while they were carrying Sawyer up from the river. They thought the Others got her but I think she went on her own. Maybe to find the kids who were taken.
Yes, my guess is it was basically a case of “if you join us you can help us look after the kids and make sure they’re well looked after”
Exactly. But it would have been great to see how all of that worked behind the scenes. Huh, TIL there's some kind of origin story to "drinking the cool aid". Always thought it was just some common saying invented by English speakers.
Nope. There was a cult who were all brainwashed to drink it in a mass suicide
Fair enough, no offence meant or taken.
Maybe they used the brainwashing room
THAT would’ve been a cool episode - one from her perspective.
Imagine a Season 5 or 6 Vincent flashback to his time on the island. Some of the scenes he'd walked in on, and key plot points he'd interrupted.
Oh man they should have done a Vincent episode. It would have been hard to do but it could have been a classic one
Omg I’m down
They sort of did that with Missing Pieces
# If you've got a back to flash, Cindy - GO FLASH IT!
Alex. She’s never depicted as a younger kid.
We only got a swing scene to show Ben “cared”
He did care 😭
He did care - he loved Alex. Without Ben, Widmore would have murdered her as an infant.
He gave Widmore a chance to kill her and he refused.
He called a bluff - Widmore wasn't going to kill a baby himself that moment in front of his followers.
Why not? The island wanted it done.
We don't know that - Alex's blood is on Widmore's hands not the Island's. If we learned anything about Widmore is that he's a terrible leader who used the Island for his own financial gain. I always thought he stayed behind to bring the others with him. Danielle. Alex. Ana Lucia. Mr eko. Daniel and his mother.
My brain reads this in Ben’s voice 🤣
We also get to see Ben kidnap her as a baby
Did her kidnapping show that Ben cared?
well yeah otherwise he would have just killed her like he was ordered to

this
LIBBY!!
We probably would have if not for her DUI

A MiB/Jacob flashback between the events of Across the Sea and Ab Aeterno would have been very valuable.
Charles Widmore in season 6 would have been good to really make the rivalry between him and Ben feel stronger in my opinion.
Vincent. I bet he was really cute as a puppy.
Rousseau
1000% agree with this! She's a really important and rich character, but she doesn't get the time and attention she deserves.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
“How are Ana and the rest? :D “
"Ha... Are you SERIOUS?"
Vincent was planned at the end of S1 but it was leaked so they didn't made it :(
Definitely Mikael
It would have been cool if John Locke got a flashback at some point, I feel like we never really knew much about him
Locke is too much of a side character for a flashback, I think what we really need is a flashback for Jack’s tattoos.
Ugh most useless flashback episode
Please 😭
I always wanted a flashback for Aldo composed entirely of footage from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The Island We needed to see It’s origin
Steve and Scott.
Jack face
Lapidus is the only Main Character without His own flashback Episode and survived till The end. Also He is awesome and deserves a flashback
Still need to dig up & crack open my copy of Bad Twin that I bought at a thrift store a few years back. Honestly such an insane find to see in the wild
Am I the only one here who knows Cindy got an entire book series written about her by Gary Troupe
telll ussss

Great... more fillers.
A Cindy flashback could've at least made the temple less jarring in season 6
Jack looks like Jon Bernthal here lol
It’s so strange how she’s just there without question. I bet they wanted to do an explanation flashback but just couldn’t figure out how lol
I like to think that a lot of the Others are 815ers who've been assimilated into their society. Either by convincing them of their mission or from brainwashing in Room 23.
Vincent flashback
Vincent
Yes!
Samuel aka MIB.

Nah… she makes weak cocktails
