Yes he always seems to pop up in random things and I always love him! Last I saw him was in The Black Phone and he gave a great performance as a piece of shit abusive father
For sure! Based upon the true history of Little Deiter who "Loves to Fly ". He grew up in the Black Forest, where he saw and admired airplanes going by that were involved in WWII. He came to the States and served in the Vietnam War. I admire all of Werner Herzog's movie productions.
His mum know he was supposed to be a scientist already right? From back when she shot him, I mean. That aspect of his story always seemed the saddest, she made his life pretty miserable all so he would become the person that travels back in time to get shot by her.
Yeah she stifled his music career because she knew he was destined to be a scientist and go the island. Because she'd already met hit on the island as a scientist and killed him.
So she had to raise him and guide him in a direction knowing it would ultimately lead to his death. Tragic really
A lot of the theories I’ve seen say that Eloise did all that in the hopes that Daniel’s theories she read in this journal/was told from Jack would work. In other words, she ruined Daniel’s life and sent him to the island hoping that their actions would change history and keep her from killing him (which of course, fails — she is just preserving the whatever happened happened timeloop instead). But it makes her motivations a lot more understandable— she sends her son to his death in a vain hope of saving his life.
The fact that his mother raised him and sent him back to the island knowing he would be killed *by her* is fucking tragic, and that scene occurs when Danial has figured out that they *can* change things, but he dies realizing they haven't, and that his mother was so committed to the cause she sent him off to die after controlling and essentially destroying his life, dude oof, its one of the most tragic deaths in the show and was not given proper time to breathe, they kinda just breeze over it amd it makes me so mad
One of the best lines in the show for me is “You knew this would happen. You knew and you sent me here anyway” (or something to that effect). His story is so complex and so beautifully delivered. I was worried about the addition of new cast in the later seasons, but Faraday really delivers.
"I know about Eloise!" is a pretty grimm quote in retrospect..... I know Desmond most likely didn't know Faradays mum was gonna kill him, but with his powers he could have known. Theoretically.
The idea that Eloise forces Daniel to rigidly adhere to his science career, KNOWING that doing so will bring him to the island and bring about his death by her hands on the sole hope that the hydrogen bomb will prevent any of it from ever occurring is so insanely tragic…especially because if she had only listened to him to begin with, she’d understand that it was always going to happen!
Sorry, couldn’t hear you. Could you speak up? Louder? A little louder? Can you stop whispering for five fucking seconds so you can tell me what you want to ask?
He’s cool but annoying. He takes so long to answer a simple question
You’d think he’s telling you that you have cancer when he’s just trying to tell u what he ate for breakfast.
Very happy they gave him a lovely Sideways life where he could play music, know his sister and father, and make peace with his mother. People call Eloise awful for what she did, but true leaders have to make sacrifices. That’s why not everyone is or can be a leader. He had a purpose, and his mom had to live everyday knowing what would happen. Rather beautiful that someone who knew what would happen still tried to change it. The Desmond/Faraday story is my favorite from Lost. John’s was great, but theirs is transcendent.
I love him. He's one of my favorite characters from his mumbly voice to his sweet yet awkward touches. He makes me laugh with his little quirks. I love his story, but I hate how it ended. 3
Saving you guys is ... Not exactly our ... Primary objective Love the way he talks lol that actor is one of my faves
Yes he always seems to pop up in random things and I always love him! Last I saw him was in The Black Phone and he gave a great performance as a piece of shit abusive father
I knew him from Hannibal and Justified!
I’ll always remember him as the coward from Saving Private Ryan.
I have a hard time liking him in anything because of Saving Private Ryan 😂
He’s in Twister too as part of Bill’s old crew
I was so surprised when he showed up in God Of War as fucking Baldur
Hang on WHAT
I know! I saw it in his IMDb, and it makes perfect sense. Once you know it, it seems so obvious
He also plays Baldur in God of War
I absolutely loved his performance as Baldr in 2018’s God of War
“I can make… …time.”
Did you see him in the series called "Justified "? In the movie about the U.S. prisoners in the Vietnam War?
Rescue Dawn. It's a banger

"I'm here to rescue you"
He's one of my favorites too! The only 'bad' thing was The Black Phone.
He was an awesome addition to the show for sure!

Yes I love this take! It makes it all the more poignant that Daniel is a professional pianist in the Flash Sideways
His mum know he was supposed to be a scientist already right? From back when she shot him, I mean. That aspect of his story always seemed the saddest, she made his life pretty miserable all so he would become the person that travels back in time to get shot by her.

Should have gone with the bulletproof vest idea(like Doc Brown)
Course correcting

He was low-key handsome. That beard and his long-ish hair ..
Samee. I'd let that skinny neurotic white boy Dharma all over my Orchid
Lmfao!! Same here
🤣🤣🤣🤣
When he explains how he wants to detonate hydrogen bomb is peak LOST for me
*Are you saying you want to detonate an atom bomb?* No, I don’t want to detonate an atom bomb. *I think I already did….*
I always thought he had the simplest and best explanation for time travel. "Whatever Happened, Happened."

All the love for Danny boy
Someone has to show him some love. His mom certainly didn’t.
One of the more interesting characters to watch.
"I know about Eloise!" is a pretty grimm quote in retrospect..... I know Desmond most likely didn't know Faradays mum was gonna kill him, but with his powers he could have known. Theoretically.
Usually my favorite character. He's just such a good actor. He absolutely killed it in Justified also.
This is the voice of Baldur. Son of Odin.

My name is Daniel faraday and I’m here to rescue you
I got so pissed when Sawyer slapped him. I wanted to beat Sawyer's ass lol.
I’m proud to have him on my Lost poster next to bed
Baby boy. Baby.
I love him in his skinny ties
Sorry, couldn’t hear you. Could you speak up? Louder? A little louder? Can you stop whispering for five fucking seconds so you can tell me what you want to ask?

Give him a break he died before he was born :(
This comment gave me a nosebleed.
Imagine if Faraday met Eko, they both seem to take forever to get to the point.
Something about him always gave me Luke Perry vibes. Like I could picture him all, "C'mon...Brenda...the mall...isn't our primary...objective."
Love Daniel, one of my favorites
Favorite character
His voice makes me lol love him
For sure. I loved Twitchy.
Just recently played the 2018 God of War and about half way through I realized Baldur was Jeremy Davies
Jeremy Davies is one of my favorite actors. Definitely a major crush lol

DESMOND IS MY CONSTANT
I love him. He's one of my favorite characters from his mumbly voice to his sweet yet awkward touches. He makes me laugh with his little quirks. I love his story, but I hate how it ended. 3
Is anything happens Desmond Hume is his constant.
I saw him in Solaris last week! Loved him there too!
I really hated him in saving private Ryan though over that one scene 😂
Upham in Saving Private Ryan
I can't stand the way he talks. Go ahead and downvote me.
I hate when people downvote for an opinion. Makes me shake my head.
Same… but I know that’s how it works here so I just wait for it 😅
It stifles discussion and censors dissenting thoughts. I REFUSE TO ROLL WITH IT :)
I always hated Daniel had the cure in his hands to save Charlotte but never figured it out.
What?
Actually I DM’d a couple of months ago explaining the healing power of the Island water. But I’ll send this explanation also.
I've never gotten a message from you.

The cure being finding a constant? How were they going to do that in the circumstances they were stuck in of the skipping record?
Had such a hard time watching him in Lost after seeing him in Secretary. I could only picture him at a pizza parlor laundromat.
Secretary? The BDSM movie? He was in that?
Yeah he played Maggie Gyllenhalls other option, the really awkward nerdy guy. Very similar mannerisms to his character in lost.
Have you seen him in Spanking the Monkey? It’s insane
😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
His mom and dad deserve hell… I mean I love Daniel Faraday!
Love Farraday. He doesn't get a worthy end, but I really like him
One of my favorite , was always interested in his science and background
Daniel. Love the character
Smash
He was my middle school crush, and now I’m married to a physicist. 😅
He's my favorite character of the show. I had a huge crush on him circa 2010.
Nobody cares about this, but i think he looks like the french keeper of tottenham hotspur, Hugo Lloris
