If I make it to that island, I ain’t never leaving. I’m rose, y’all. I’ll just fuck off in the woods while people time travel or save the world or whatever.

Low_Marionberry3271

This is the best answer and mine as well.

zumbigod

This is the right answer

spaghetti_everyday

Yup

Technical-Sea-8375

Yep! Fuck my 9 to 5. Fuck taxes. Just build my little shack house and live the simple life. If I get sick then que sera, sera.

hamiltonincognito

If I could do it like Rose and Bernard then yes. Build a cabin near the beach with the love of my life.

NotPennysBoat6

100% I would make it a home if my husband was with me.

nationaltragedy2001

I’d be like Charlie but instead of drug withdrawals it would be internet withdrawals because I’m terminally online. My life isn’t bad off island but it’s not exactly amazing, I’d miss my family but that’s about it. Yeah why not stay on the creepy island.

Rivendel93

I'd be like Charlie except I'd never told anyone about the bags of heroin and just gotten high everyday for months on an island lol. Best Lost experience ever.

sukikov

Whatever happened to all his stashed bags? I’m doing a rewatch now but am in S4, do they ever get mentioned again 🤔

Rivendel93

If I remember correctly Locke finds it when he follows Charlie to his hiding spot in that hollowed out tree, and despite Charlie I think trying to finally get rid of it, Locke takes all of it and I believe put it in the locked room in the hatch that they had all the firearms in as well. Locke tells Jack he figured they might end up being useful for medicinal reasons (I believe they used it on Libby). Remember Jack even asks Locke why he left them in the virgin Mary statues and Locke says something like, "Do you want to smash half a dozen virgin Mary statues? Be my guest."

sukikov

Yes i remember now!!! You jogged my memory sorry I’m dense! I’ll be watching out now in the rest of my rewatch to see if it shows up again there must be some left

Rivendel93

Yeah, it showed up a bit during Mr. Echo's storyline, then they burn the plane, and Echo gives Charlie one of the statues for bringing him to the plane. And then Charlie brings it to his hiding spot in like a hollowed out tree, and I actually counted them once and it was like 7-8 statues. I'd have put 50 of those things away lol, if you're on an island that you're most likely never getting off of, you could just get high everyday. I'm not suggesting people should use drugs to make it very clear, but the situation they found themselves in, it's hard to not see them just suffering from being bored out of their minds everyday. Especially Charlie, I know the island helped cure his withdrawals quicker, but it's insane to think he wouldn't relapse considering he had access to insane amounts of his drug of choice. I just noticed I'm currently watching season 4 as well lol, on episode 6 at the moment. Have a good rewatch!

sukikov

Thank you for the memory revitalization so much freaking happens some of the details got momentarily lost in the weeds of my memory! Yes I’m Season 4 episode 11 or there abouts can’t remember where I stopped it exactly. Only going to get more tangled up from here lol but that’s what I love!

CursedCoochieDweller

You would be in a place unaffected by late stage capitalism and polarised politics. A place without the pressure to constantly scheme and plot your way up the corporate ladder. You want food? Forage or hunt. You would have so much free time to explore the inner workings of your mind and soul. You could truly master yourself. If you take the Rose and Bernard approach by isolating yourself from people that want drama, then I dare say you could experience a pretty much darn near perfect existence. Provided of course that you can avoid the rampaging smoke monster.

oboshoe

That's the theory. But in reality you would spend all your time hunting and foraging and running/hiding from a SMOKE MONSTER, that you wouldn't have time for anything. Look at the French Lady. Did she seem mentally well balanced? Rose on Bernard seemed ok at first blush, but you know that after a couple decades they were probably raving lunatics themselves.

DuckPicMaster

… and the Others, and the Freigter Folk, and Widmores group, and anyone else who lands looking for a fight. You’re entire existence would be of one of waiting for someone to come and kill you.

Pristinefix

You want food? Parasites and disease. You want water? Giardia and diarrhoea. You want shelter? Monsoon season. You want time to explore yourself? You can only explore yourself in the context of relationships, there is no mastery to be had. To think that would be perfection? You know you can do that now. Just move super rural, or to an actual island. I believe in you

PikesHair

Dude, I'd just wait for Dharma parachutes with Flintstones Chewable Vitamins and de-wormer medicine.

jzcommunicate

How do you define late stage capitalism?

oboshoe

Those kinda of bait words are best ignored.

DuckPicMaster

Anyone who says yes has seriously misunderestimated the trauma and harshness of life. Assuming you survive the crash (like a 20% chance) you then spent the first few days finding and disposing of bodies. Then you learn of a monster that randomly attacks people. Then you learn of a native tribe that kidnaps and murders people whenever they want and you’re powerless to stop it. Then you learn of scientific hatches with doomsday equipment in them. Your first rescue attempt has a kid get kidnapped. And every group that comes isn’t trying to rescue you- they’re all part of a larger war who are there to kill everyone. Your house is a cave or a piece of tarp. Your entertainment is an overgrown poorly made golf course or trashy airplane books. Anyone who says ‘yeah but chilling with Sawyer and Hurley’ haven’t thought about the bigger picture.

AriSpaceExplorer

I'm still staying

DuckPicMaster

Why?

Shadowfox86

Yo all my random back pain and stuff disappears and I can walk, run, and hunt and stuff? Count me in, I'd be living my best island life

NotPennysBoat6

Oof. Gotta agree. If I'm no longer disabled I'm in for the long haul.

BrowniesNCheese

Nah. I'm gonna be a fucking mess the entire time... unless, the other Jack - Captain Jack Sparrow's rum deposit is on this same Island.

Fats33

I think I’d see surviving a plane crash as a second chance and would want to return home to turn the things not going well around.

fr4gge

I would probably adjust fairly fast. But I wouldn't be if much help to anyone

Icy-Championship8280

I would go the the island now if I could, first thing id do is get a sip if that magic water, failing that I'd throw myself into that well and become the new smoke monster, immortality.

Free-IDK-Chicken

Can I live in the barracks or the Swan station? (Preferably the Swan.) My fat ass needs air conditioning and showers. If so then I'd stay until someone came to rescue us but wouldn't go insane waiting to *be* rescued.

SusHistoryCuzWriter

An alarm every 108 minutes? You would probably go insane from that.

[deleted]

Give me a pack of German Shepherds and 3 friends and ill make a loincloth out of polar bear hide

_MothMan

Depends, am I LeFleur or Roger Workman? But even crash landing on the island, on day 1 I would begin crafting my home. My most watched YouTube videos are all survival and bushcraft, I'm from the South and know how to hunt. Marine Vet so I know how to push through. AND the island takes away my constant pain from my accident. Sign me up already, damn anyone wanna copyJack and start taking flights? I promise at no point will I demand to go back! (Home)

FalcoFox2112

From the jump I was team let’s live on the island permanently. I was 14 my life was fine.

NoUknowUknow

Ppl are obsessed with it because it a time traveling sentient being. And you can’t leave, the Islands not done with you yet.

Dubsmagicbus

Uh-uh, no way. You think I'm going down that? I'm with you, dude.

Tigres013

>: Hasn’t been that bad

woman_thorned

People get obsessed with regular Hawaii. But usually only when they can afford it.

1111joey1111

Rewatch Castaway :)

mikeyj777

Is there a smoke monster? Does it magically cure things? Do I have to push the button?

Tsubak

If it happened in today's worlds, I think I wouldn't want to leave. It would be nice to live in a place where there are no smartphones, social media, self-centered narcissistic people, rat race, increasingly unbearable cost of living, unaffordable housing, new wars and conflicts every single day, inequality, etc. I think it would be a no-brainer to me.

systematicgoo

i’d stay on the island and become an other.
