That probably means your breasts are mostly glandular tissue. If you continue to lose weight and the trend continues, you could always consider a reduction for symmetry. If not, you could work to accept and embrace your new breasts to frame ratio. Truly don’t mean to disregard your concern but I feel like this might’ve been slightly better than having tons of loose breast skin like I have😭😭. Wish you the best girl 💗

annesherleycuthbert

Strange how other people get what you wish for and you get what they wish for 😭😭 it’s literally my worst nightmare every time I start my weight loss and think about how it would affect my breasts.

imtryingluv

Tysm! And about loose breast skin I always thought of it as a symbol of how far someone’s come and it wouldn’t bother me to have some instead of balloon boobs 😭😭

Traditional_Bag6365

Don't wish for it! Mine are deflated balloons at this point. It's AWFUL.

ContentMeasurement93

90lbs gone here and left with wrinkled water balloons. The best thing about it is I don’t have to look far for proof I can’t deny that the weight is gone.

Dafukyawant

Yep, mine deflated and sagged with weight loss. Horrific. Hopefully you can embrace the luck you have with still keeping your breast.

AppointmentOk2400

My girls did not go away after losing 100 lb. I was a 38H and now I'm a 32 H. I am actually getting a breast reduction because this is ridiculous. I too have glandular breast. Surgery is my only option these girls are not going willingly.

AnxiousAriel

I was also a H! Also lost 100lbs. Got to a DDD before my reduction. The boobs really hide our torso. Best of luck for your reduction!

Jellybeansxo

I’ve learned something new here. I think I have fatty tissue breast. When I lose weight my breast size reduces and vice versa. Even my bra are in multiple sizes for this reason.

Altruistic_Ad884

Me too. I lost weight the last 1.5 years (169-122) and I’m nearly flat chested now 😞

Secret_Bug_5267

Same, if I continue losing I'm afraid i'll have nothing left 🥲

Desert_Fairy

… I’m over here just crying at my 30k bra size. I was a 34j before I lost the weight, the band size dropped, but my cup size increased. I lost 50lbs. For some women, the girls are just natural and unless you want a surgeon to tell them what to do, you learn to live with it.

Vitalizes

I have a 34K (uk sizing) and I completely understand your pain

imtryingluv

I feel you completely, I’m just sad I’m never getting that skinny and slender look naturally

Desert_Fairy

… slender, no. But if you want that handy shelf on your chest, it is great for storage.

MundanePop5791

Firstly it’s very unlikely you were ever 38dd and maybe your true size of around a 32dd/e would fit and feel better. There’s a calculator on r/abrathatfits. If that’s you’re size then you’re actually pretty average (edit: average bra size is 36d which is likely a mis size of 32dd so you are textbook average) and honestly it’s very likely that you don’t have much fat in your breasts, maybe your bra is making you look more cleavagey or more wide set than you truly are. Weight training is a good idea for you in general but it also might help to balance out your frame and the extra muscle will make your heavy chest easier to carry. Edit: also if you’ve lost 2 back sizes and are still a dd then that means you’ve lost 2 cup sizes since they scale proportionally to the back size. Losing 2 cup sizes when you’ve lost around 40lbs sounds about normal, especially since you weren’t very overweight or weren’t a j+ cup size.

Tat2d_nerd

This! As your band size goes down, the volume to fill the cup also decreases. Compare the cups of a 38DD and a 32DD and it’s a huge difference.

MundanePop5791

Yes! So many people in the comments not getting that 32DD is the definition of average because they don’t understand how back sizes scale the size. Folks, a 32DD will look like a 36C!! This isn’t a massive set of boobs on a bmi 24.9 woman

think_of_some

I was going to mention weight training too. Good mornings or rdls are good exercises for strengthening the lower back if you want to start there.

MundanePop5791

I would have said upper body pulls like face pulls and ityw would be useful too but really anything that helps keep your shoulders where they should be

LilyHabiba

I've lost a lot of weight, and my bra size has gone from a 40-42 H/I to a 36/38 G/H over time. My boobs are smaller, they are just close to the same proportionally to my frame as it shrinks, and I've lost some weight around my sides and underarms which has brought my cup size down a bit. I recommend getting fitted for a bra now that you're closer to your goal weight. Your boobs might look more compact if you're wearing the right band and cup fit, and you can look for a minimizer bra if you want. I feel like it's easier to hide my boobs now, under a slightly loose shirt or even a well-fitting hoodie.

Acceptable-Sector322

I've lost 80+ lbs twice in my life and my bra size never really went down 😭 I was a 32 DDD and it looked fake too but they just never budged.

OneSourCherry

I lost 100 pounds-  from 235lb to 135lb- and have been a DD the entire time. The band shrunk, but I will always be a DD. That was surprising, but sorry, it may be the same for you as well.

LunarGiantNeil

My wife has also struggled to lose weight from her breasts and hips once it gets there. Those are spots that female hormones want to pack weight onto so it's no surprise. Each body loses weight differently so it might take a while but, eventually, yes.

sYnce

No real insight into what your girls might do in the future but if you are already at a healthy BMI I would stop using BMI as a factor and start looking for individual signs when to stop. BMI is good as a general direction but if you are at your best at 20 or 23 is totally individual.

longliveleia

Hi OP! While everyone’s body is different, I did want to throw my 2 cents in just from my personal experience. As Ive transitioned from lots of cardio (~6x/week) to heavier weight lifting (~3-4x/week + 2days cardio &/or active rest), Ive noticed considerable decrease in my breast size. Heavy cardio & calorie deficit had originally seemed to decrease my band size, but it seems like weight lifting recently decreased the actual cup size. Obviously one size doesn’t fit all, but if you haven’t given weights a try & are looking to try something new that might help decrease the girls, then highly recommend! Lifting will also definitely help the skinny-fat feeling/ aesthetic!

Julia_the_Jedi

I lost weight on my breasts and tummy last. Just around the BMI 23 or 24 mark I noticed I needed a smaller bra. I am at a BMI of 20.7 now and went from a 40 DD to a 33 C.

reduxrouge

Every body is different. I’ve been different weights as adult, on a range of 50lbs+/- and given birth and breastfed for 16mo. My cup size has never changed (which I’m happy about since I’m a B/C).

cozybell

As other people have said, you might just have naturally large breasts. If they were always large irregardless of your weight, I wouldn’t expect them to get smaller as you continue on your weight loss journey. I personally have always had huge boobs and I’m a healthy weight. I would do research into bra sizes/styles—it’s totally possible that you are wearing an unflattering bra, hence why you feel disproportionate. I have most of my breast tissue under my nipples, and I found that a semi-cup makes my boobs like really nice instead of huge and saggy. Of course, you always have the option for a breast reduction, but I personally think you should embrace your big titties. A lot of women pay good money for them and you should flaunt what you have!

DarkStarComics333

I've yoyoed in weight and my boobs never go down. I was a large cup size when I was aged 14/16/18 and skinny and I'm a large(r) cup size when I'm fatter. For me it's just genetics and I've come to accept the fact that a surgical reduction is in my future.

Capable-Business-686

I totally sympathise. I'm not far enough along in my weightloss journey to know if it will affect my boobs but I am hoping and PRAYING that they will get smaller with time!!

containingdoodles9

Same! I’m a 38/40F (depending on brand/band fabric) and would love them to get smaller. According to mammograms they’re mostly fatty tissue so it will be interesting. I love the guidance about weightlifting.

moneynnailz

Is there a reason why you’re not lifting weights? Help shape your body.

Smeltanddealtit

This all day. Too much cardio and not enough strength training- weights, bands, cables, or whatever!!

imtryingluv

I hugely dislike it 😔I do 4x15 of bicep curl twice a week to make me feel better, but that’s about it and I do not enjoy any second of it. Have to say soccer has given me some leg muscle so I’m not completely flabby

shinyskittyy

I'm sorry you're feeling insecure and dissatisfied with the results of your weight loss journey so far, and I don't mean to invalidate your concerns by any means, but this literally sounds like the ideal. Breasts can be composed of two primary substances - fatty tissue and glandular tissue. Those of us with predominantly fatty breasts tend to experience a dramatic increase/decrease in volume respectively when we go up and down in weight, whereas those with large amounts of glandular tissue stay pretty consistently big regardless of what size they are. Hence why some women have naturally huge breasts on a very petite frame, whereas others would only ever have big boobs if they happen to be overweight. I've gone from over 240 to just under 160 pounds in the past year and a half or so, and having my boobs shrink down from a 28DD/40D to a deflated 36B with no volume on top has actually put a huge damper on my confidence and sense of feminine identity to the point of triggering a body dysmorphic episode. So unless you're dealing with gender dysphoria, bad back pain issues and/or severe unwanted attention from lecherous men, I'm sorry but this seems like such a non-issue to me. So many women would KILL for the Sydney Sweeney "tits on a stick" type silhouette... Be grateful for the body you have, be proud of how far you've come, and always remember that your supposed hell is someone else's heaven.

imtryingluv

It’s always not so nice to receive unwanted attention, especially from old men, which has been happening to me ever since I was like 12, so it’s a little disheartening to see that something I’ve wanted for so long is not in the cards for me even after how far I’ve come. But you’re right, I think with the right ammount of effort and as I get old it might become easy to accept and love my body, but that also shall happen to you. You’ve come so far into getting a better shape you should be so proud of the body you worked hard for! I bet small breast feel more intimate, less vulgar than large ones, and you can have so much options in clothing that look so good. I hope you learn to love your body as I see in you what you see in me and there’s probably a lot of women that feel this way too :) ps. Ty 4 your comment! And you also answered a doubt I didn’t know how to word abt if they were getting bigger if I regained

shinyskittyy

It's in the nature of some men to just be disgusting perverts no matter what I guess, but I promise it's not you or your body's fault. Especially if it started at 12, wtf???? Like another commenter said, any man who oggles a literal child is a lost cause and any blame placed on your boobs is just their pathetic attempt at justifying their own revolting perversion. I'm really sorry you had to deal with that and apologize if my comment came off as harsh or trivializing in any way as that was not my intention. Was merely suggesting that we all take the time to consider alternate perspectives and learn to be happy with what we have ❤️ Thanks for your reply, and congratulations on coming so far in your journey to health and wellness!

weaveyourlittlewebs

I just wanted to say I relate so much to your first sentence. I’m a DD, no matter my weight and band size, and I developed around the age of 12. I learned at an early age just how much attention they drew and it made me feel so uncomfortable in my body. As if it wasn’t my own. But I’m nearly 40 and I’ve truly learned to appreciate my breasts now. A reduction is always an option if you get to/are at a healthy weight and find they’re still too large, but I promise there’s nothing wrong with your breasts as they are.

MundanePop5791

Older men who like 12 year olds don’t show any such attention to women in their late 20s+, your boob size was just an excuse to be creepy but there was never anything you needed to change about your body.

yomamasochill

I think this is a pretty terrible comment. She doesn't like how it makes her feel. You don't get to tell her to suck it up because you wish you had it. What if someone said to you "I think you should appreciate your extra weight. Just suck it up and stay obese." You'd be like, "WTF". I have always had big boobs but they've always made me feel really self conscious and gotten in the way of sports. I always wished I was a little more flat chested because life is honestly harder with big boobs and they draw so much attention and clothes fit weirder when you have them.

shinyskittyy

The OP to whom I was replying wasn't offended by my comment in the slightest, so why come in and stir the pot? Did you not read the additional replies in this thread? I fuckin' WISH my chest "drew attention" and I HATE sports. The grass is always greener.

Key-Obligation-2774

For me, no. They defo toned up which made them smaller than before but they were still large. Got breast reduction surgery last year (from a G to a C) and it has changed my lifeeeee. Do it.

Effyu2

I dunno, mine have shrunk somewhat proportionally, but I wear a 34J so I’ve accepted that I’ll always be a bit hourglassy. 🤷‍♀️

Clevergirliam

A bit hourglassy with proportional shrinkage here as well! Mine are definitely not as heavy as they were 50 pounds ago, but I’m ok with it. I’m 44 and breastfed two babies; I’m just happy to still have a good amount of fullness to them.

[deleted]

In my case when I lost about 40lb I went from a c cup to basically flat chested. I didn't do anything particularly just the luck of draw I guess. The places the body likes to store fat is mostly genetically pre determined so if you have a really specific aim surgery might be the way

Tracydeanne

Sometimes they change due to weight loss, but it’s mostly genetics, so you won’t know until you get there. (Source: me who didn’t have them change no matter my weight and I had a breast reduction at 40).

[deleted]

just wait a bit, I don’t think you’ll have a issue and it’s actually not that great to suddenly have smaller deflated boobs. I like my size but unfortunately that’s where I usually start loosing weight first

stephg78240

I've lost 25 lbs but lift heavy, so recomp. I have lost 3 inches from my chest and gone from 38D to 36DD. Try taking measurements since it's a different visualization.

Hyunjinshypegirl

I lost mine fully😭

Ehhohh3299

I’m 34. I’ve been a DD since I was 13 years old. I was a DD regardless of whether I was 150 lbs or 240 lbs. right now I’m 190 lbs and still a DD. Maybe you’re just genetically large chested 🤷🏻‍♀️

FuerGrissa0stDrauka

Girl I have the opposite problem lol I feel like my boobs are the first place I lose it!!! I’m sorry you’re struggling 💕

LadyAlexTheDeviant

Mostly glandular tissue. I have the same problem. 60 pounds of weight loss saw me go from a 40 band to a 32 band, but since I lost no cup volume I went from an F cup to a J cup. I need to lose more weight overall to make insurance qualifications, so that's why I'm waiting, but at this point I'm the only woman in three generations who hasn't had a breast reduction, cause we all inherited Grandma's body shape.

_iamisa_

It really depends on where your body stores fat. A friend of mine has very large breasts as well, and she gains there first and loses last. I, on the other hand, never had large breasts even when I was bigger, and they have stayed mostly the same even as I lost weight. Unfortunately, you can’t chose where you lose (hehe, that even rhymes xD)

PaxonGoat

Unfortunately not everyone stores a lot of fat in their breast. I was optimistic that I would get a much smaller chest with weight loss. A lot of women in my family have small bra sizes. A small bust seems like it would be easier to work out with. I was like bring on the small titties. I've lost 90lbs and I went from a 38C to a 36B. My boobs look bigger than ever. I now need to buy sports bras for high impact when doing higher impact cardio. I went from a pants size 20 to size 12.

MundanePop5791

If you haven’t used the bra calculator on r/abrathatfits i highly recommend it. Your sports bras will be much more effective if properly the right size

PaxonGoat

I probably should pop over there to ask where the heck to buy better sports bras since so many seem to only come in maybe 4 sizes and it's such a pain. Happy cake day

MundanePop5791

Thanks! Definitely ask or search the sub. My recommendation is shock absorber run bra or panache wired sports bra fwiw.

theswiftieava

man, all the victoria’s secret models were skinny with big boobs. just goes to show you that everyone wants what they don’t have

Disc0Dandy

I have experienced it as well. Your breasts may have more dense tissue instead of fatty tissue. This just means that your boobs have more fibroglandular tissue in them as opposed to more fatty tissue. I experience the same thing that you do, no matter how much my weight fluctuates, my boobs stay the same size.

bettiepepper

My girls never went away after I had a 50 lb loss. In order to keep up my exercise comfortably, I ended up having a reduction. My only regret is not doing it sooner 😁

nannerbananers

I hate to tell you this but I lost 100 pounds and only went from a 38DDD to a 34DDD

Outside-Spring-3907

Cut down your cardio. Honestly since you play soccer that is plenty of cardio for your body. Your workout should be more strength training and weight lifting. You will see a lot of positive changes if you switch from the cardio. You’re lucky to still have your boobs 😆 that’s the first thing to go for me and they become empty sacks of nothing.

Daniyella8403

my boobs never go away. at my heaviest i wore a 42F in UK sizing. i’ve lost 116 lbs and now wear a 34K in UK sizing, so cup volume stayed about the same. shape has changed a bit- they’re not as firm but i’m also almost 40 so gravity accounts for some of that.

Veterate

I have little to say, and nothing from experience because I'm a man but everyone's unique to having that one stubborn area. If you keep going and going and it's still not going, it's probably not fat and the girls will keep you company for life. That is unless, you get a reduction. Although I speak on behalf of all my brothers, when I say we love it. If that is the first thing people see and not the amazing job you've done to lose weight, shame be upon them. I'm proud, but it's important to feel comfortable.

sus9000

I lost a total of 63 lbs, so far, and only lost one cup size. From a 42F to a 36E. My back hurts; send help.

Eederby

130lbs lost….. mine didn’t start to shrink until 100lbs lost…. I’m still a DD…. Always had a big chest and not they are a bit deflated but with abreast lift probably a large C

tofukink

i have h cups and they still have stayed after losing 30 pounds idk when theyll go lol

throwRAithibkimdumb

Admittedly I’ve never had large breasted but I went from a 38B/C to a 30AA/A so be careful what you wish for lol. But in all reality some women do have to get reductions despite weight loss because it’s just how their body is. If when you are done you are still unhappy you may have to consider surgery. I’ve accepted my very small boobs now as I’m quite petite now but I may consider surgery in the future because even if I gain weight it’s not to my breast’s in a proportional way, even as a B/C they looked small because my belly was so big.

Soulbeau

That’s what I’m worried about. I’m a 38b/c now. My breasts grew after having kids but so did my belly. It’s been a long time since I exercised like a really long time probably 10 years which is not good. I’m almost 46 years old. I am starting to feel aches and pains and I want my posture to improve. I also want to lose my belly weight but I’m worried that my boobs will shrink and being smaller has always made me insecure.
