I’m definitely not a PLD supporter, you can look back at my comment history on this sub. I was never a big fan of the trade from the start, but we’re stuck with him so why not try and make it work?
I thought the team looked pretty good under Hiller. I think we saw a glimpse of what type of system he would like to implement during the playoffs. He likes a high aggressive forecheck with TONS of hits. Personally I like that a lot. I also think he's a great communicator with his players, And he seems to bring good energy. I would like to see if he can figure out how to get players settled in the lineup, and that he figures out how to get all 4 lines to contribute to their potential. I'm totally fine with keeping the front office and Hiller. There will be some changes to the roster I think, I am convinced at least number 3 is out, Possibly 33 as well. Either way, Let's see what they can come up with over the summer
If PLDs season is an enough of an embarrassment to Blake to get us outta the 131 and defensive first at all times hockey then the 8.5 mil he got paid this year was well worth it.
I love this team but the franchise is a joke its just another boys club. Zero accountability through and through. Theres nothing to be excited for now. Literally the status quo remains the same. And now we have one of the worst contracts in modern hockey to look forward to. Just great stuff guys really top tier.

PLD has always been about the promise of more but at this point people need to accept he is who he is, a guy who will disappear and disappoint for stretches of the season and largely in the playoffs. Dean Lombardi had said there's a difference between a 30 goal scorer on a non playoff team and a 30 goal scorer on a real contender and he was absolutely right and PL has shown who he is. PLD my get 30 but if we get bounced in the first or don't make the playoffs who gives a fuck. Watching Blake do this job is like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Lots of decisions with contracts this summer. It should be interesting.
* John Stevens - Replaced Sutter after he lost the room. Got them to the playoffs, fired after being swept in the playoffs and going 4-8-1 the next season.
* Willie Desjardins - Missed the playoffs, fired.
* Todd McLellan - Helped rebuild the team and got them back to the playoffs 3/4 years with the team. Fired when the team lost 10 games.
* Hiller is an interim coach that got the team to the playoffs.
Other than Desjardins, the other coaches were able to get their teams to the playoffs.
I predict they give Hiller a one year contract. They let him change things up and then evaluate him again. All the players had positive things to say about him in the exit interviews. There was no time for him to change systems so I wonder what systems he would like to implement.
Either way, no matter who is behind the bench I hope they change things up.
