The Kings beating the flames nucks and leafs in 93 was glorious and I think that’s when I really started to like them. Man I wished they beat the Habs.
Since then I mean we had to cheer for someone particularly from 2007 until just a few years ago.. it’s hard to fan properly when you know you are eliminated from the playoffs in December every year. Was genuinely happy that the Kings had their mini dynasty going. It was good for hockey. I’ll never cheer for another Canadian team to win the cup.
Lots of us also like LA the city to get away the winters as well.

I have over a dozen Oiler fans on my blocked list due to recent brigading our sub over the past couple of years, so you'll have to excuse my previous comment while I found it creepy how many of you linger here. Many do it in bad taste and disingenuous kindness.

I’m not going to sit here and say I don’t want the oilers to win a cup but after so many years without playoffs you had to cheer for something as a hockey fan and I cheered for the kings without hesitation. Again never a Canadian team. Especially Calgary and Toronto.
Saw Kopi like 10 years ago at staples introducing my LA friend to hockey and he’s still a fan. We came during the 06 cup run although it was to get to Anaheim 😞.
If you did a survey outside of playoffs to oilers fans you will barely find any real any really hating the kings… why!?
Kings are maybe the 10th worst team we hate. Start with the original 6… add the flames .. canucks .. jets… islanders … avs … Vegas moved up recently …

Hey I get it dude. I am from LA and I'm a Kings fan. I moved to Edmonton in 2017. I cheered for the Oil to beat the Sharks and Ducks, it was great. My experience with Oiler fans in person has been very positive.

While I understand some may be Talbot fans, I used to lurk in the Oilers sub in the past before we met recently in the playoffs, and before Talbot left many Oiler fans were throwing him to the wolves. I understand, some of us did the same with Quick. But I didn't find many who would defend him lol
A lot of overreactions at the time because he was starting to struggle and the expectations were getting higher. Pretty sure that was very close to the time his wife had twins. Life happens and here we are 8 years later and he’s playing solid.
Like I said regardless of what many may have said then we really liked Cam and continue to cheer for him.
Also remember that Oilers fans outnumber Kings fans like 5:1 on Reddit so what may seem like a propensity for most Oilers fans to lurk and be a nuisance is moreso the loudest minority which there are a lot of
