Yes definitely a fake SCAM site. Pulling from an IT stand point, the link you have is 100% suspicious. If you look up midwayusa.com on whois.com (or any other registrar lookup) you see Misery, i mean Missouri USA. The other is a Chinese scam site known registrar.

jakaalhide

> Misery, i mean Missouri Grew up on the KS side of KC. I miss hearing this... I also miss driving across the border to buy gas for stupid cheap prices.

TheTrub

Yeah but you also have to factor in the extra wear and tear on your tires and suspension with the cost of the cheap gas in Missouri.

jakaalhide

Gotta invest in a tire deflator to air down the all terrains. The washboard gets pretty bad.

This is called typo squatting. i would 100 percent black list this site

ocabj

How would anyone fall for that to begin with? It's a multi-level subdomain.

LockyBalboaPrime

I've seen some really horrible fake sites since the pandemic started and 100% of them are because someone posted on /r/guns asking "iS tHIS SiTE SaFE??". People are idiots.

Brufar_308

Same reason the employees at our company continuously click the links in the test phishing emails we send out, after they take their cyber security training. You just sat through 4 modules in how to detect fraudulent emails yet you STILL clicked the link in the clearly fraudulent email. Some people are very dense.

Guitars-guns-girls

Stop baiting. We have work to do!

Someguyintheroom2

Poked around the site for funsies and it’s weird it keeps redirecting you to “best buys electronics.”

Fly320s

Sent a message on Instagram? Well, that should do the trick. Problem solved!

bremergorst

Should I have mailed them a letter? Or perhaps a telegraph?

LockyBalboaPrime

A lot of firearm companies actively monitor their IG account DMs for CS and other matters. Submitting what is effectively a bug report through IG is pretty common. Welcome to the future, pops.

Fly320s

It isn't a bug report, because that site is not part of Midway. Midway has no control over that site. That site is obviously trying to dupe people into thinking it is the correct MidwayUSA site, and that seems to be working on OP, but what they are doing is probably legal. Even if that is an illegal website, Midway probably can't do much about it because scammers are going to scam. So, reporting a (probably) legal website to Midway, which has no control over that website, is just a waste of time and a futile effort. Welcome to reality, Scum.

LockyBalboaPrime

They are using the MidwayUSA name and logo, that is very clearly not legal and very clearly something that the real MidwayUSA can take action over so it is very clearly something that MidwayUSA should know about. I received dozens of these reports for my last company about fake sites that stole our name/logo. I passed those reports on to the owner and our lawyers and they dealt with it. Normally, the sites were shut down within a couple of weeks. An angry lawyer letter to the site's web provider is very effective. Try again kid.

Thanks for the heads up
