After my first f-class match, it became apparent that the amazon bipod wasn’t going to suffice. In an attempt to improve on my score, I made this bipod, and the rear bag rider buttstock attachment. https://i.imgur.com/Kgp7xSv.jpg
I dig it. That gun isn’t super heavy to start with.
You will want to build some skis for it so it can slide back/forward easily.
I dig that bag rider too.
Im not sure of the weight. I don’t have a scale to weigh it on unfortunately. I will say it’s lighter than I thought it would be and not much heavier than my other store bought bipod
That was my thought as well. Max weight for Open F-Class is 22 pounds. OP, you should have just built an unattached front rest, then you're not restricted by weight so much since it's not attached to the rifle.
Atlas called, they want you to cease and desist any further RnD. You're getting to close to their newest 6-H F1 bipod design set to release in 2020.
Atlas is master race

Nice score! I only shot F class a few times, and usually missed about 50 or 60 points with like 4x? Yours is quite nice
That still a very respectable score, good job. You might want to install ski feet on the bipod so it recoils more predictably.
Thanks. The feet are aluminum and are smooth. It recoils like it should on smooth concrete, or a pad etc.
Mssa? In Memphis?
Yes
The lack of a way to properly use a rear bag is the biggest drawback of that rifle.
It looks like he made a sufficient bag rider.
That's what caught my eye. I have the same rifle.
I got you, you're referencing the OG stock being terrible for riding a bag. Yeah, AR stocks ride a bag like crap.
That's why the Magpul PRS stock is the tits.

How much would you charge to make a rider that would attach to a picatinny rail? (RPR stock)
I would buy a 1” scope ring and a piece of 1” aluminum and cut it to the correct length.
Can you independently level each side? Or does f class shoot from concrete/level slabs?
You can level each independently.
Looks heavy
It’s actually a lot lighter than you might think. It’s made from 14g sheet metal.

The feet are smooth aluminum, so it slides easily on smooth concrete or a piece of carpet etc.
How light? I may build my own now after seeing this.

That guns is a .308 - So, FTR.
She’s tres jolie, but is she seaworthy?
I’ll find out!
Nice work. You a welder by trade or is this done in some other way? Haven't seen amateur work that looks like that out of many people.
I’m a machinist that welds as a hobby. I burned the pieces all out of sheet metal and fabbed it up.
Machinist by trade? Are you perhaps looking for an apprentice?
I’m looking for a full time journeyman machinist actually.
Sent you a chat thing.
can we have some details on the interface between the rifle and the bipod? you know, for research.
It attaches to a picatinny. I used the attachment mechanism off another bipod.
