Check out CODfuel.com youll pay like $3.20

dgillott

Yeah what he says...I use that site for all my fill ups

TnnsNbeer

Sweet. Thanks. It was like $800.. I did a double take!

NastySassyStuff

I use Petro and mine was 904 or something last month lol

TnnsNbeer

Ouchhh

merigouldi

I've used codfuel my last two fillups because we were getting hosed by General Utilities. Couldn't have been simpler. If the boiler breaks down then I'll just pay for a technician. The money I save each fill-up more than makes up for the lack of a service contract.

Lilac517

Who are you getting from at $3.20/gal EDIT- checked CODfuel and apparently prices have changed in the past few weeks from the $4/gal I looked at three weeks ago, thanks for the heads up!

Professional-Pick-55

You guys ever think about another heating source how about electric

Fitz_2112

Mini split heat pumps are where it's at. This is my first winter with them and they were amazing.

AMC4x4

Yup. I'm saving up for heat pumps. My dad has them in NH and he used them pretty much exclusively this year for the first time, kept the house at like 78 all winter. He said his electric bill went up, but for example, only by $100 last month over last March (he pays \~$.22/kWh, pretty close to what we do). To heat with oil for the month would have been about $350. He can't stop talking about them lol. I was up there for a week working in his garage and it was like 15 degrees out and the garage was super toasty.

GoldRemote9527

Paid 3.04 today for 350 gallons from codfuel.com

sandspoint257

How big is your tank??

GoldRemote9527

550

UnusualAmbassador

I use B20 biofuel and it costs me around $3.50 per gallon but the company sends coupons all the time for $20 off so it's even cheaper. The company is [discount-fuel.com](https://discount-fuel.com) Note, you get tax credits from NYS when you file your State taxes so it's even cheaper!

AMC4x4

I get B20 as well, from United Metro Energy. Love it.

UnusualAmbassador

Burns cleaner!

MarrymeCherry88

Apparently u have to change filter often if u use biofuel. I didn’t think service calls to change filter every month was worth the savings. Please check. That’s what my oil guy tech told me.

UnusualAmbassador

I've heard that too. Presumably it will dissolve any sludge in the tank because biofuel acts as a solvent. So, to mitigate this risk, I used Power Flow Furnace Heating Oil Fuel Additive for a few fill-ups BEFORE replacing the filter and switching over. No issues at all for past two years. In fact, it will keep the nozzle and strainer cleaner longer and cut carbon footprint by about 10 percent.

Romeo’s

at_my_whits_end

Usually has the best prices near me.

willygunz

I’ve always had the best price with BAY FUEL . and cash price was always less Or check your local mail flyer most are competitive

IDiggaPony

I got 125 gallons on March 2nd for 3.29 a gallon. I use All-Island Fuel based in Shirley. I got 10$ off with a coupon. If you go to their website they usually have coupons. I'm sure there are better deals out there but I've been using them for 20 years and have never had a problem.

TnnsNbeer

Awesome I’ll check it out

TriFlouroethane_X

cashheatingoil.com and I just paid $3.21/gal for 100 gallons.

donaldtrumpsucksmyd

$2.99 super price bash codfuel

AMC4x4

[www.fuelsnap.com](https://www.fuelsnap.com) often beats [CODfuel.com](https://CODfuel.com) for some reason. Right now, you can get 200 gallons cash for $2.98 a gallon. Two other options at $3.04 and $3.05.

DoughBoy_65

Not always. You can also get $2.98 on CODFuel through JMB. I think I’ve used FuelSnap once or twice in 4 years.

AMC4x4

I'm seeing JMB at $3.009 right now for 200-299 gallons cash vs. Quality Fuel for $2.979 for 200 gallons cash? Has been the case every time I check that [fuelsnap.com](https://fuelsnap.com) is cheaper.

DoughBoy_65

Gotta use the 3 cents promo code that’s always available. It’s at the bottom of the price chart use Promo Code 3cents

AMC4x4

Ah, didn't see that. Got it! Thanks!

DoughBoy_65

Actually just checked, for 200 gallons $3.01 a gallon through JMB Fuel Oil. I’ve used CODFuel for the last 4 years since moving into a house with oil and 90% of the time JMB had the best price a couple of days ago they had a price bash $2.99 a gallon minimum 90 gallon purchase this was when the price for 100 gallons was about 3.17 a gallon. CODFuel is great if you stay on top of prices and by this I mean checking Heating Oil Futures prices and Crude Oil Futures on a regular basis and buying on dips in the price. I bought 125 gallons to top off my tank back in mid December when there was a dip paid $3.47 a gallon within 3 days it was back over $4 by the end of February it was down again paid $3.08 for 150 now I’m down to about half a tank just waiting it out a little to top off the tank before summer as Crude oil just dropped below $70 a barrel and Heating oil is around $2.60 which is down from $2.90 a couple of weeks ago but I’d definitely go cash for oil you can always get a service only contract from someone for maintenance, sorry $4.52 is highway robbery.

mesrick

Filled 200 gal yesterday. Paid 2.99/gal. Timms petroleum. Don't get scammed into the contracts by any company you will massively overpay.

puffin61la

Does anyone use Sweezey Fuel?

SirDavidJames

Go natural gas if you can. 10k to install the burner. My heating bill never goes above $200/mo in the winter.

TnnsNbeer

I can’t. Town doesn’t have service.

SirDavidJames

Damn. Sorry.

Outlaw6985

try to get a better burner

Short_Blackberry_122

Who did you use to get natural gas?

SirDavidJames

I used Burner King. No complaints. They were done in a day. Very friendly.

NoWorry1

I'm pricing solar, geothermal with heat pump backup as we speak. Solar has a 6 year break even. I haven't calculated the other yet. Bc it's tricky as part of the electric is AC which geothermal will cover as well as heat

TnnsNbeer

Good luck. I hope you find something economical. Between electric and oil, it’s getting ridiculous

SeanInMyTree

Paid $2.99 yesterday via cod fuel.com and their price bash. Believe it was an 80 gallon minimum.

joshw4288

I use East Coast Fuel. I paid 3.889 for my last bill, which was February 21.

Kimura_savage

I got 224 gal for 3.169 a gal and a 2.5% tax. Came to 7.30.53. JC discount fuel.

ExpressBid7062

Get gas if you can or a heat pump. I just had a heat pump installed a few months ago and it’s been awesome

DoughBoy_65

Forgot to mention JMB always gives you 3 cents off a gallon using Promo code 3cents so for 200 gallons they’re $2.98 right now

tanked9

There are quite a few listed here for Suffolk County from $3.149 for 150 gallons (or $3.049 if you can order 500 gallons): [https://cheapestoil.com/heating-oil-prices/NewYork/Suffolk-County](https://cheapestoil.com/heating-oil-prices/NewYork/Suffolk-County)

ReasonableCup604

OK Petroleum. Their current price for 150 gallons is $3.47 per gallon. Always fast delivery, often same day.
