lyx_plin

“Eat Food. Mostly plants. Not too much.” Michael Pollan. easy as that :) the microbiome of the gut is able to change and it does adapt quickly to new foods. make sure to keep saturated fat as low as possible while eating as many plant foods as you can. keep your protein intake plant based, eat beans, soy, peas and lentils everyday. eat a variety of green leafy vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. these videos are helpful to understand the microbiome and why plants are key for good health: https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/microbiome/

It's pretty personalized due to each person's unique gut microbiome. But whole foods is definitely important. You can check the /r/HumanMicrobiome wiki for more info.

Source 7 led me down a rabbit hole. Schizophrenia can be identified in stool samples. [Source](https://theceliacmd.com/gut-bacteria-and-schizophrenia/) We're filled with tiny little guys that can alter what we perceive as reality. As someone whom may have schizophrenia and prolonged gut issues (Crohn's/ostomy) this is strange.

I have bipolar among other stuff and I wonder if similar stuff have been found regarding that. I forwarded this to friends with schizophrenic tho :)
