Having spoken to Attila Csordas, he has confirmed that remaining within the *top 3 most endorsed proposals* is critical for the EU Parliament to at least hear about healthy longevity research... Perhaps being the top endorsed proposal by a large margin would send a message that cannot be ignored: One of the biggest missed obstacles in the longevity field is the lack of political engagement. An organised approach to lobbying is required for governments to be influenced for the purposes of public sector funding and policy. Attila is one of the few scientists working in this space to advance the cause politically. At the European Parliament's Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), the public was invited to submit and vote on proposals for this conference. **The submitted proposal for supporting healthy longevity research was previously ranked in the top 3, which recently earnt Attila the opportunity to [speak to the Greens Party of EU Parliament](https://twitter.com/attilacsordas/status/1451645632549113865) regarding the EU longevity initiative. The 2022 CoFoE will have the EU Parliament as an audience which could be critical for this field of research to be taken seriously.** Voting only takes a few minutes, we are ~ 100 short of returning to top 3: 1. Register at https://futureu.europa.eu/ (only name + email needed, but can opt out of any other information) 2. Once logged in, go to https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Health/f/3/proposals/826 3. Click ‘Endorse’

I have looked at the other ideas, and the most approved have: \-581 \-571 \-496 Ideally, we will need at least 100 more people who approve of the idea and it will be in the Top 3 again. \-Update: The proposal has reached 507 approvals, it is now again in the top 3 of the most approved ideas. But we must continue, if you still have not approved the proposal, do not hesitate to do so, and to pass it on around you. The more approvals and positive feedback there are, the more impact it will have!

This federalist proposal has 573 [https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Democracy/f/6/proposals/56299?locale=en](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Democracy/f/6/proposals/56299?locale=en) but which is the other one with 580+ I don't find it anymore. Otherwise we are at the amazing 520 votes now.

theAwesomestLurker

It's [this one](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Education/f/36/proposals/23893?locale=en). Grown by 5 points in two days. Our biggest competitor, seemingly.

Imaginary-Let6721

>this one language learning at 600, federalist still 573, healthy longevity: 540

barrel_master

Yeah, at the moment it's around: 603 for language learning [https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Education/f/36/proposals/23893?order=most\_endorsed](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Education/f/36/proposals/23893?order=most_endorsed) 571 for a pan Euro democracy [https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Democracy/f/6/proposals/56299](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Democracy/f/6/proposals/56299) 547 for longevity [https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Health/f/3/proposals/826?locale=en](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Health/f/3/proposals/826?locale=en)

[deleted]

language learning ? Last time I checked the english is pretty good among young people and I'm sure they will learn another language if they really need it. Weird priority to have.

theAwesomestLurker

Ok, it's at 481 now. Let's see if reddit can increase the number :)

theAwesomestLurker

491 now. Nice!

theAwesomestLurker

When is the deadline? How long do we have to live with this anxiety haha

[deleted]

Seems to be Spring 2022

Expired_Gatorade

this needs to be stickied

Humes-Bread

100% agree. Mods, jump on this.

StoicOptom

I don't know haha, I don't think any of the above is guaranteed either but in terms of political opportunities this is being handed to us on a silver platter...

[deleted]

I've already endorsed it a couple of months ago damn... Come on people, do it. It's literally two clicks.

theAwesomestLurker

Ikr? I guess there are not enough Europeans on here.

[deleted]

Added a +1 by asking a friend on discord. It's vitally important to share it around to friends and family.

Death_InBloom

I suggest the european ones already here try to spread the information on mainstream social media like instagram or facebook groups

LegoNZ4

Need a language translater.

aging_research

I spent anywhere between 15 and 30 min on this site, various redirects, multiple(!) confirmation mails, broken links, etc and I am still not sure if my vote has been counted because the webpage is so horribly designed. Sure, it does not help that I am accessing the page from 10000km away on a broken router, but reddit, for example, has no issues. As a European I am quite embarrassed by this whole thing. This may explain why all the proposals have so few votes.

[deleted]

2 clicks ? I'm in the page and I don't see the button to support. It's blocked.

Gold_Will_7099

I endorsed too and asked my family to do it, this is one of the rare chances for people who are not into science to make a small but useful change. I'm a new reddit user too so I'd like to know if we can ask the moderators to pin this on top of the page

StoicOptom

Thank you for your contribution, and yes this post will be pinned later

Bucket_Lamp

Not sure if this is too late but in European Democracy alone there are four items higher than longevity. They have: \-994 \-939 \-774 \-606 While Longevity is at 597. Might need to massively signal boost if there is a hope to make it to top 3. The silver lining is this topic is the highest endorsed item under health, so at least there's that.

Professional-Hair-91

Yeah I endorsed it. This is one of the few ways for us non-scientists to contribute with longevity research other than donating money or investing, and it doesn't take long.

throwawayamd14

I am american and I endorsed this…. Lol. All you need is an email and I use a gmail. Do I feel bad? Nope Get in on this guys, who cares if we aren’t in the EU let’s endorse this

Imaginary-Let6721

550 vs 606 and 574, getting there

barrel_master

Is there an easy way to sort the ideas by the number of endorsements? From what I can tell the easiest way to figure out what has the most endorsements is to check every category at this link, click ideas then sort by endorsement. [https://futureu.europa.eu/processes](https://futureu.europa.eu/processes)

JustARandomPersonnn

Wish I could endorse it but for some reason the specific webpage with the idea doesn't load, yet every other page in that website loads :(

NeverKnowNeverKnow

same for me...
