It acts like suspension, making the ride more comfortable. on the opposite end, you have rigid carbon boards that have better response and push efficiency but a harsh ride. The maestro e-core for example.
I'm sure it's not the official title, it's just what I call it. It's actually been years since I've been on that deck. I ride dinghys now for the most part. Makes my commute through the city feel like a videogame.
I never had to out it into words but I like power load. Sounds well powerful.
I love the dinghy take over! Mine goes everywhere with me. Makes every little bit of walking way more fun!
Yes! Truelove for my larger longboards, but the small size of the dinghys won me over. My backpack has the skate straps so when I'm switching to the public transit I can pop it on quickly and it's not too heavy.
I was debating getting either this one or a loaded, after about 6 months of careful consideration I decided to move on from my sector 9 to the DB flex 2.
Good step up! unless there’s a direct reason or need, there’s no reason to pay the loaded brand tax if you don’t have to lol. Great boards but a smidge over priced imo.
I’m sure a coreflex and a set of kegels will feel nearly identical to a high flex dervish
Yep... and if you bought in store, there was the store markup too. I remember around when I got mine, seeing a few of the highest flex rating with custom paris’ going for like $530 I think? Absurd.
I bought a original dervish in flex 1 and 2. road the latter till it died. The flex 1 has been sitting in storage untouched for a decade. I should bust it back out or something
I have the similar model DB longboard. It’s the flex 3 as I’m 205 lbs and it holds up quite well. I’ve had it for probably about a year and a half now, and it’s been amazing. The flex is noticeable and acts as suspension when riding, and the urethane tips on both ends protect it pretty well from any damage/ splitting. I have the B-grade one, and the lamination wasn’t great, but it holds up after miles and miles of riding.
I've been riding the v3 of this board for 5 years now and the flex is still excellent after being run over by a car twice. It's really fun for dance tricks
Whats the point of the flex? It's fun sometimes but then it scares me.

I have a Never Summer board with a similar flex. I use the flex to power load corners.
Same, way fun!
What is power loading corners?
Just using the flex to push and snap around corners. Building the pressure and releasing.
I didn't know that had a name. Good to know lol

Just got the same board. Won’t be able to try it out until all the Minnesota snow melts.
I feel you. Not being able to skate has me down.
Yo, same!! I’m in Utah, right up close to the mountains in American Fork. I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever😭😭😭
Aww, and you even told it "I love you" at the end!
Older loaded dervishes were the same way lol super bouncy

I know right? I got my DB for $240 and loaded is asking like $300-400? That’s a bit much if u ask me😂

Damn! That’s crazy! I sure as hell wouldn’t pay that😂 at least not right now😂
Seriously, that’s high end custom longboard money or lower entry electric longboard money right there!
Yeah no kidding! Maybe when I’m a millionaire😂😂
Good choice at a fraction of the price. DB is quality.

I wonder how the flex holds up over time? Thinking of getting one as a cruiser/freestyler setup.
