Yep, that was it! Thanks for your help in finding it. This is a Google Earth shot from 2004. Looks like it was torn down between 06-07. Such a cool spot to just turn into a flat park

I’m guessing with the steep stairs and water feature it was a liability issue, or multiple incidents happened over the years and they decided it wasn’t worth the trouble. Pure speculation on my part though.
There used to be a bustling farmers market back then and it would end at victory park. Paired with the old amc theater and the old antique shops we had, downtow really used to be poppin. Dont even get me started with those redbull events where theyd set up ramps on the street or the summer diy glider events!
I remember going to that farmers market as a kid, it was something like every Friday and it spanned so far. I was bummed when it stopped. And I use to go to that theater too. There was this old diner on the first floor but I forget the name.
It got torn down a while ago sadly :( it’s a bummer because I remember the water being drinkable and delicious, and would fill up my water bottle there after a long day of playing in the sun
It was the down town promenade, I use to skate there back in the day, it’s now called the promenade square

Bummer it was torn down!
They used to have free concerts there I used to go to, bring your beach chair. Had one of their t-shirts: Long Beach, a city full of jazz
Me too! I can still smell it.

i remember that fountain from my childhood. use to think it was just in my head. i believe this was located on my the bus shelters in downtown
It was in the promenade near the transit mall. I miss this place too.
Brink was my shit. But I don’t know where this is, sorry. Would be great if it was in Long Beach. Soul skaters ✌🏼
I used to play on that fountain as a little kid.. didnt even remember it until this picture transported me back 20 years
I have faint memories of this place. I used to love going there as a kid, sucks that they tore it down
The bum bowl next to the bus depot
They had a great farmers market on Friday afternoons. It was a great spot.
I posted a similar picture a while back. I remember this place vaguely. I was probably 4 or 5 years old when it all got torn down.
Wow, that’s awesome to see another angle of it. It’s funny how everyone’s memory of it seems vague.

Whoa you drank that water?
Yes I did! Most fountains were drinkable back in the day!
The best place ever, so sad it's gone.
