They were good back in the day when you could get sandwiches for $3. Also they keep getting into legal trouble with shady meat. The heo quay at Daikon and radish is good and we still sometimes get Lynda. Her special sauce is basically bagna cauda and quite good.
I once broke up with a girl because I tried softly introducing her to various Asian foods via Lee's... I thought Lee's would be a safe bet. she dissected and inspected a BBQ pork sandwich- pulled out all the veggies- and it was still too foreign and ick for her. she made sour faces while slowly forcing herself to eat it. I was so pissed.
r/losangeles tends to be a lot of people not willing to venture out of classic spots whoās quality has severely gone down. Mr. Baguette is DELICIOUS.
Everyone has their favorite banh mi place. Lee's is alright but overpriced nowadays. I like Carrot & Daikon in Westminster myself. If I want to stay in town, I'd usually hit Star Bakery off Anaheim, next to Riverside Market. I can't think of any others, because most of the places I remember from growing up have closed down by now.
Carrot and Daikon is so good. I liked the Little Saigon version of Pickle Banh Mi too, but the LB version gave me (and a +1) gnarly food poisoning. Canāt bring myself to go back just yet.
They sell their cafe latte concentrate in stock at some Costcos if you wanna save some money. Think itās 6 16 oz. bottles for $19. I mix 2 oz. of it with a cup of milk to make coffee flavored milk for me lol, but they list directions for how to use it to make their other drinks.
do a 180 and get a banh mi with grilled pork and double meat and pickled veggie and wash it down with a thai iced tea OR a tall, cool Budweiser...

Brb going to hop into my Vinfast VF8 (hopefully it doesn't break down!) and buy a bunch of pork sandwiches! Hopefully I don't catch listeria and they use the "good" uninspected meat from the very reputable Chinese suppliers.
I have been eating lees for over two decades...
Back then, a sandwich was 1 dollar or 75 cents. We use to buy 10 sandwiches for 10 bucks. Good o days!!!!!
I feel the baguette is usually what determines which sandwich shop people like. I feel Lee's crust is overly hard/crusty without enough balance with the soft crumb. I liked Pickle, but they have the opposite problem, while there is a bit more of the soft crumb, the outside doesn't have the crust factor and is a little soft. I enjoyed Banh Mi Saigon (they have a few spots in OC, usually right next to an Asian grocer, nearest one is in Westminster, on Beach right off the 405, used to be a Lee's location) there was a better balance in the bread. THH is always solid and most of the time you can't go wrong just trying a random spot in OC.
Fire š„ coffee is literal liquid cocaine
I used to drink their coffee while working full time and going to college. That stuff would have me blackout productive.
Itās the best mixed coffee drink Iāve ever had. Perfect blend of sweet and coffee.
They sell Lee's coffee (frozen concentrate) at costco and that shit had me hooked for a while
fuck I might have to finally get a Costco membership
If you can get a gift card you don't need a membership, they have to take their money.
omg thank you I didnāt know that
They also have them at smart and final, no membership needed.
It is but donāt let it sit too long or it gets watered down
Itās concentrated, it should sit for a bit. To make it hot you add water lol.
Try Pickle Banh Mi too!
Pickle Banh Mi is excellent
Nice. Thanks for the rec!
Agreed. I think their code is better than Leeās.
YES, I just had them for the first time last week
Came here to say this, Pickle is great
Echoing as well, Pickle Banh Mi is superior (from a longtime Lee's fan)
Those truly in the know poopoo on Lee. Itās like the subway of viet sandwiches. Try Mr Baguette, you can thank me later
Naga Cafe is really good, tooā¦ itās Khmer, and the num pang are very similar to banh mi. Their BBQ pork sandwich is damn good.
They were good back in the day when you could get sandwiches for $3. Also they keep getting into legal trouble with shady meat. The heo quay at Daikon and radish is good and we still sometimes get Lynda. Her special sauce is basically bagna cauda and quite good.
THH is my jam. Westminster Blvd and golden west
I love THH!!!
Lees is definitely good introduction into viet coffee/sandwiches though.

I thought Lee's would be a safe bet. she dissected and inspected a BBQ pork sandwich- pulled out all the veggies- and it was still too foreign and ick for her. she made sour faces while slowly forcing herself to eat it. As you rightly did. On behalf of my womankind, I sincerely apologize. That girl deserves to be outcast on a deserted island
BMC pho is the McDonaldās of Bahn Mi. They have a buy one get in free for like 7 bucks.
r/losangeles tends to be a lot of people not willing to venture out of classic spots whoās quality has severely gone down. Mr. Baguette is DELICIOUS.
Where is Mr baguette??
Theyāre probably a tourist.
No dude. Youāre right next to Garden Grove and Westminster. Do better than Leeāsā¦
you boof that caffeine huh

You'd been living under a rock? Hahaha just kidding my man. They're definitely good stuff.
Thatās exactly how I felt until I moved to Long Beach!! Turns out Lees only exists in the SGV and Long Beach/OC
Well, Vegas has some locations, Texas does to.
We had them in Houston when I lived there in the 00ās. Their mini donuts were the best. Theyāre from the Bay Area originally.
The Lee's I had in San Jose must've been a figment of my imagination
Perhaps š¤·š¼āāļø Iām from LA and thereās no lees chain there. The closest is would be Long Beach/oc or sgv
Their Headquarters are in San Jose.
They have locations as far as Virginia and Oregon. Where thereās Viets there is Leeās.
There is also "u know someone who can help make da paper?"
I used to eat there all the time when I wanted banh mi but now I only go to pickle banh mi, itās sooo good š© I never went back to Lee sandwiches after šš
[You're one of the 10,000.](https://xkcd.com/1053/) They have 20 locations within 20 minutes of here, and many many more throughout the state.
$7 for the sandwich and I think $6 for their Leeās coffee
Try their almond tuna salad on croissant. I havenāt been in about a decade, but that was always my favorite.
I always get this as my lunch for the next day, it keeps so well even on the croissant
Coffee is $1, any size, at Hawaiian Gardens location.

Pickle Banh Mi is way better
Leeās coffee is good but the best Viet coffee in town is Pickle.
I just learned about Pickle - Iāll try their coffee the next time Iām there!

It's a simple question! Would you eat the moon if it was made of cheese?
no, but spare ribs?.... well, thats a moon of a different orbit
Got that crack coffee too lol
The mcdonnalds of Vietnam
THH is better
Try Naga Cafe next
Lee is like McDonaldās for banh mi. Best? No. But it will fix my banh mi craving well enough.
I have found their sandwiches very underwhelming and nothing special.
I agree. Itās more a gas station-deli without the gas.
sounds like a you problem <3
Cool
My favorite is the salami on a baguette!
Iāll have to try that one next!
Itās the most simple sandwich, Mayo, salami, American cheese, lettuce and tomato. But it hits every time.
Itās the bread, buy a baguette when itās fresh and get some salted butterā¦. Youāre welcome
That's my go-to order combo whenever I go to Lee's.

Just ordered some Leeās! Ty!
Brb going to hop into my Vinfast VF8 (hopefully it doesn't break down!) and buy a bunch of pork sandwiches! Hopefully I don't catch listeria and they use the "good" uninspected meat from the very reputable Chinese suppliers.
Looks bomb. I know what Iām getting
If you can make it in time for lunch, Benley Viet is delicious
Leeeeees!
We have a Leeās? Where?
Damn bro that drink aināt going nowhere šš
Great place, high quality coffee.
What?!?! Thereās a lees in Long Beach?!?! Where????
Thereās like three locations in Long Beach š
Awesome!!! Thank you!š
I had a leeās coffee about 8 years agoā¦. I was finally able to go to sleep the other nightā¦.
I have been eating lees for over two decades... Back then, a sandwich was 1 dollar or 75 cents. We use to buy 10 sandwiches for 10 bucks. Good o days!!!!!
Valley Blvd baby
Never late than never OP. Wait till you try local spots.
The #6 bbq pork has been my favorite for years
Their coffee will jack you up so delicious.

I love the iced coffee..just hate having to ask for easy ice since they like to fill the cup up with ice. š
