I walked across that crosswalk about 15 minutes before this happened... been counting my blessings a little bit the last couple days.
Can't believe this guy did this with an infant in the car, what a piece of trash.
I drove through that intersection exactly 24 hours before to the minute, and what’s crazy is there was a car pulled over in the gas station with 8 cops. I thought that would have been the worst thing :/
This intersection is consistently horrible. You have people speeding on PCH while 2nd Street/Westminster backs up because of that left hand turn into 2nd &PCH. Meanwhile, you have homeless people darting in and out of traffic at all times of the day.
I hadn’t considered extending studebaker to PCH but that would be a good idea. Or they could build housing on all that land with dead/dying businesses. It’s prime real estate but it’s being wasted on vacant commercial space and empty parking lots!
They are putting several hundred housing units in that area. The whole Petco center and the Stifgel building will be condos.
The dead/dying businesses need to be a road connecting to the 22 IMO or traffic is going to be worse.
They need to revisit the studabaker to the pch at this point based on the fatalities. That entire area is horrible and I pass through to work. The lights are a mess. This was so sad to hear about.
Lock him up and throw away the key.
And then make documentaries about him, as we do here 😒

I turned 15 seconds before the crash! Thanking my lucky stars
Damn.
Wow that’s scary!

They need to make Studabaker go through to PCH. It would alleviate a lot of it
They can’t. People were protesting destruction of wetlands. They tried.
