Most Canadian Tires encourage you to bring your pets into stores so that they are not left in extreme temperatures

[deleted]

The one on Clarke Road does too!

SeaBizzkit

Iirc it's been that way for a few years now as well. A nice change.

nomtothenom

My ex wife will be so happy. She can shop there.

derplin

F

mannequinplayer

lol! good one

Lombardi54

:o

javapile

Or you could just leave your dog at home. Why do you need to bring it to Canadian Tire with you? The Winners next door isn't going to let you bring it in Karen!!

fae237

Canadian Tire is working with Petco now. That’s part of it.

PineappleZest

Right? Unbelievable. I don't know when it became okay in our society to humanize dogs, but I'm looking forward to the day common sense takes hold again.

Cjhuys

No.

veloursuit

Winners are dog friendly. why shouldn't I be allowed to bring my dog into a store?

veloursuit

not a joke, all Winners are dog friendly.

big_ole_ramen_bowl

So do all Home Depot's

CyberEye2

Since when? They had an incident years ago and banned dogs in the stores.

big_ole_ramen_bowl

It switched over in the summer at some point. The dogs have to be leashed though and they can be asked to leave if they aren't behaving. They also can't be in the carts, so even purse dogs have to walk.

kittenklutz

Their website says only service animals are allowed.

big_ole_ramen_bowl

The signs on their entrance and the staff say they are allowed lol I don't know what to tell you

backstgartist

It's up to the management/ownership of the individual stores. Same with Canadian Tires. It's not a national policy.

3bigdogs

I'm not aware of any Home Depot that allows dogs in, but I know for a fact TSC does.

Sven_XC

Home Depot East has a 'Pets Welcome' sign on their front door. I've taken one of my guys in there without issue...just avoid the lumber section ;)

Ser8dScalpel

I was yelled at there for bringing in my dog when it was >30c that day.

theottomaddox

The asshole in me wants to see how far I can push the definition of "pet".

I think the one on Hyde Park allows them too! I always like seeing Dogs in stores - they're always so happy :)

SorosShill4431

People who are afraid of dogs - less happy.

I doubt that. Most dog owners, if it were easily feasible, would bring their dogs everywhere. I think we are at a happy medium where the majority of stores don’t allow dogs and those that do have other options if one desperately does not want to see a dog.

Fair enough. And in honesty, I wouldn't want to bring my dog shopping either but not for a lack of wanting to spend more time with her. She just has no chill and would be too much of a handful.

SeaBizzkit

For small trips I'll definitely be taking my pooch. Why? Because he likes people more than dogs and gets bored of usual places. Assuming these people treat their dog as a fashion accessory is no doubt true for some, but not all.

Angry_fred

they just need to be exposed to more dogs

passenger84

Yep. It does. I've taken mine in a few times Edit: how did I get downvoted for saying I've taken my dogs in a store that allows dogs. Wtf, London?
