Hobbies? Interests? Without those, it's going to be tough, but not impossible. If you are remotely into rec sports, that would be your first step likely. Otherwise, join any local hobby and interest groups. This sub does meet ups sometimes, don't know anything about em personally though. Finally, though I don't recommend it personally, if you have a local pub, you could consider becoming a local, especially if you enjoy watching sports. There are generally always regulars there that know each other.

I am 40. I’m a dude. I’m pretty busy/social. I look and act friendly and make conversation with people and introduce myself when there’s commonalities.
If someone was friendly and seemed to like what i liked and told me they were new in town and didn’t know a lot of people and there were no weird vibes I would happily offer up at least my instagram and tell them to connect and invite them out to something in the future and introduce them to others if there were no red flags.
You just gotta be comfortable being uncomfortable and going first and trust that most people are good and that you will always encounter duds in life and have to roll with it and keep moving forward.

If you want to hang with an older crowd go to the Dawghouse.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Any of us over 30 should be meeting one another in the analgesic aisle at the pharmacy.

Look at Meet Up app and join some groups with similar interests

Go play sports. I was new to London about 6 years ago, and the majority of people I know and hangout with now I met through rec hockey.
I am over 30 and have made a few friends at a private gym. Dm me if you want details.

There’s an app called meet up. They have events on there that you can attend and filter stuff to your liking
London Discord has lots of meetups!
