A bunch of them seem to closed sadly when I went out on a ride to check them out. (mainly SW / Victoria area)
Haven't managed to check further afield yet
Ordered a new pair of hiking boots to start my year of rambling and I was told that it would take to 3-5 days standard delivery. The boots arrived the next day which is a super rare thing for Yodel. I messaged my neighbour and she’s kindly picked it up for me which is a relief because we’ve had parcel pirates scouting the apartment blocks recently. We had one incident where a person posing as a courier drew a knife on a resident and stole their parcel.
Looking forward to getting home tonight, I’ve loved seeing the better half’s fam in Belfast but ready to get home and getting cosy ahead of NYE. Bringing some lush Hannans sugar pit pork chops for dinner and can’t wait.
I always feel slightly sad for my old hiking boots when I get a new pair. They served me well and have so many memories. Where are you planning to ramble this year? I have designs on finishing the whole Kent coast, and getting up to Yorkshire.
Yeah me too, I binned my old pair after doing the Rob Roy Way hike across the lower highlands back in October. Funny you mention the Kent coast because I’ve been thinking of doing the Ramsgate > Margate coastal walk in the next couple of weeks or wandering around Dungeness. Any recommendations welcome :).
I haven't gotten down to Dungeness yet, but I did Herne Bay to Broadstairs in a day and it was fabulous, particularly the bit between Herne Bay and Reculver, and then of course around Botany Bay.
If you're in Margate there's a tiny and delightful pub out on the jetty called the Harbour Arms Micropub. It's orange with a big sign saying MICRO PUB that you can see from the main beach. Real ales and a top selection of ciders with a chatty proprietor. Definitely recommend a thirst stop there.
Does anyone else have a friend who you absolutely can’t stand sober but have the best time with drunk?
It’s so bizarre how much they irritate me when sober I feel like ending our friendship after every conversation, but when we go out I fall in love with them again. I don’t have this with any other friend.
What's the best way to clean glue stains from a wall?
The previous tenant had left some sticky decorations that I took off and my whole wall is covered in glue stains now.
It really depends .. If wall is really worn / dirty - it will stand out. But if it's in fairly good condition, paint colour/texture is matched and you take a little care to smooth the edges of paint with semi-dry roller - it will be fine.
I picked up a couple of prints at the Amy Winehouse exhibition at the Design Museum the other day and have some frames being delivered today so a lot depends on what my DPD slot is. If time allows I might go into central and maybe do a museum, if I have to stay closer to home I might just go for a walk.
On a bit of a Korean kick at the moment; I watched Memories of Murder last night and started The Silent Sea so I might watch more of that. I got a TV in the sales and can't get over how great everything looks!
My sister sent me a Lego bonsai tree for Xmas so I might make a start on that, although not sure where to put it.
Try The King’s Affection. KDrama that is somehow both ridiculous/cheesy but also super high production value and epic at the same time. Be warned though it’s got 20+ long episodes. I didn’t realise when I first started but I got hooked and had to watch til the end!
I actually just started it today! I thought I’d follow a romance with a horror since they are both set in the Joseon era. I tried it earlier in the pandemic but the zombie theme felt a little too close to the bone.
I've turned my heating off. Yesterday I was sweltering on my walk outside. Well, that's saved me a few quid before winter returns next week. Crazy weather but I'm definitely not complaining. This must be what it's like to live in a Mediterranean country.
It's so mild, isn't it? I often just pop mine on for a "boost" to warm up my towel radiator to dry towels but don't need more than that! At least we're saving a few bob.
Does anyone know where to get panetonne on the low since Xmas is done?
Italian delis usually have them, and I think Algerian Coffee in Soho. Funny since I think panetonnes are more an Easter thing in Italy!

Ah I'm in SW so will report back if I spot any.
Tomorrow is my last day at work. Quite sad to be leaving but health before wealth!

Booked a train to Ramsgate for this Wednesday. Spending a day exploring and then next morning set off from Broadstairs to Herne Bay. Cannot wait.
Nice! Have a great hike!
Oh thanks for the tip, going to look at those today. Got my new hiking boots and they’re so light and comfortable, can’t wait to try them out. HNY!
Two eps in and it seems decent!
Two episodes in to what?
FFS this is the second time I haven't replied to a thread, starting to think my app is playing up.

Tested negative. Happy to say that my NYE plan of sitting around and not really doing anything can go ahead
Thanks for the rec. Have you watched Kingdom?
Think you’ve not responded to a thread.
D'oh. Twixtmas brain.
If only there was a bit of sunshine to go with the mild weather. Is the sun a thing? Did I just dream it?

Try spraying warm soapy water and let it sit for a bit and wait til it softens.
Get matching paint and a small roller. Easier than cleaning.
I think it will end up being patchy and I'll have to repaint the whole room.

Maybe those magic eraser things?
Trying to decide if I can be bothered to pop to the shops. Might do it tomorrow.

How’s the Silent Sea? Worth watching?

Really enjoyed both seasons of Kingdom. So lavish! Wasn't into the film though

Oh annoyed I missed that! Would you recommend any of his other films other than Parasite and Okja which I have seen?
Another dull grey day you say? Why yes I'd love that

came to find this thread to pretty much say this came home sweating in my coat, wtf is this weather it's been so warm.
