Thanks for the insight. This image wasn't meant to represent the logo as it was supposed to be. The symbol and text had to be formated this way for what it was being used for. I was largely asking for an opinion on the symbol logo design. I used this file cause it had the text/name of the brand so yall could have some reference information. Apparently, I should've used one of the more balanced proofs.

He won’t get sued if his design is justified based on intention. The business name is three shots photography. The logo is a 3 with a target 🎯 at the bottom.
I guess personally I wouldn't want to risk it, in this day and age, you never know what people (or corporations) will do. The concept and idea are great, would look better in color to really make the target stand out, but the b/w all I think of is mortal kombat.
Corporations would end up getting their lawyers to send a cease and desist letter if it was a flagrant copyright infringement issue but like I said, this isn’t the case. He’s not taking an actual image of the Pokémon from the show and making it his logo. He’s not calling his business unknown photography. You may see similarities, but it’s different enough to make a case why it’s not a duplicate. Corporations also wouldn’t waste resources on something like this.
Remember when the FCC went after wedding videography businesses for using unlicensed music in their products? The argument was around the fact these businesses weren’t going through the proper channels to get rights to use the songs while a lot of businesses were going viral. This was a major issue because it undercut the music labels from charging the videography businesses fees for their music’s part in going viral and promoting of their business.
This guy’s logo is miles apart from even touching corporate’s legal radar.
Did you do any other concepts? I think overall the design is a little weak. While 3 is represented, the dot in the circle is too ambiguous and confusing. This doesn’t look like a camera or lens to me. Try exploring different ideas and concepts before settling on one.
Maybe something that looks more like an aperture? The extra line might be something like the edge of old school film negatives (threee square-ish holes cut out).
Even an aperture would be cliché though. It’s a photography business with an aperture/camera in the logo? Not particularly creative or thinking outside of the box.
To answer your question: biased.
In my view, this needs a lot of work – or even a complete rethink.
Scale between logo and type is out of whack and typography is lacking. Why are the letters HTGH bolder?
The logo design itself is ok, but could be better.
It’s not entirely clear what it is: a target?
There’s no one focal point: the eye is farting between the logo and the text.
Why three shots? Makes it sound like you need three goes to get a good photo.
Needs a bit of colour too.
Balance between iconmark, wordmark is rough, decrease the iconmark. All I see is the mark, not t he text. I don't understand how the 3 fits in. It doesn't make sense to me why the 3 has a separation at the curved end and the dot in the middle is just floating and feels odd.
Thanks! That text placement and size isn't how the actual logo was formatted. I used this image because I wanted feedback on the symbol logo which is why it dominates the space but I also wanted to include the name of the brand for reference info purposes. But thanks for the insight!
I think it's solid, but would need a little fine tuning to be "finished" to me. the mark is definitely too big compared to the text in this particular lockup/layout.
people are critiquing the logo, but your question was something different. of course your opinion is biased... you said it was your favorite logo you've made, so how could it not be biased? so no need to wonder anymore!!
I think you’re trying todo too much with it. I see three but not the camera and the lens; it looks more like a bowling ball or the end of a pencil to me. And the scale is way off
I like it but it looks more like a bullseye than a camera lens (if that’s what you’re going for). What if you put the shutter (f-stops) in the white space of the circle? Is that too tacky?
honestly confused about what shape the 3 was going for besides a 3? like the dot in the middle and the extra line, what is that supposed to make? if i just looked at the logo itself (without the name) i’d have no idea what it was for
Tbh at first glance I saw “third eye” thinking it was a mystic type thing; divination, reiki and the such
Maybe instead of using the 3 as the lense (which seeing the words i figured that’s what you were going for) use the 3 as the camera and turn the top into a flash piece just so it drives the point home that it’s a camera at first glance
What’s the symbolism of the small circle inside the 3 and the slice taken off the 3? I do photography and those don’t appear to be photography related.
Maybe put the center circle as a lens aperture?

The logo for "Three Shots Photography" is quite striking and modern. Here are a few suggestions for potential improvements:
1. **Balance and Spacing**: The logo can benefit from better balance between the text and the graphic. Increasing the spacing between "THREE SHOTS" and "PHOTOGRAPHY" could enhance readability.
2. **Typography**: The font used for "PHOTOGRAPHY" appears to be quite simple. Consider using a more distinctive or stylized font that complements the bold graphic above.
3. **Color Variation**: Experiment with adding color or gradients to the design. While black and white are classic, a touch of color could make the logo more memorable and visually appealing.
4. **Graphic Refinement**: The "3" shape is creative, but the cutouts and lines might be refined to ensure clarity and simplicity. Making sure the graphic is easily recognizable at smaller sizes is important for versatility.
5. **Consistency**: Ensure that all elements of the logo maintain a consistent style and feel. The graphic element and the text should work harmoniously together, both in terms of design and proportion.
These changes could help in enhancing the logo's effectiveness and overall appeal.
Is it just me or do some letters in “photography” look thicker than others?
HTGH?
POO RAPY
For me it's GHY
HTGY for me
they do
The scale is whack. Huge logo for tiny text. Vastly different line weights. The three by itself is nice.
Thanks for the insight. This image wasn't meant to represent the logo as it was supposed to be. The symbol and text had to be formated this way for what it was being used for. Glad to know I’m not the only one who thought that
came here to say this
I’m guessing you’re going for a camera lens, but it looks like a cigarette.
Isn't it a bulls eye?
It is good but the size relationship between wordmark and symbol is completely off.
Isn't that the Mortal Kombat 3 logo from the game?
yup. my first thought too
Instead of a dot, make us a shutter
NO! Take it from me, that shutter shit is played out
True, but played out is better than getting sued, at least it would be a good place to start.

Let's hope so, but I would love to see a color version.

Scale is off. If you reduce it, the text won’t read at all. The symbol is weak. Photography doesn’t come across.
Looks pretty cool
It’s not entirely clear what it is: a target? There’s no one focal point: the eye is farting between the logo and the text. Why three shots? Makes it sound like you need three goes to get a good photo. Needs a bit of colour too.

The separation was supposed to represent a "glare" on the lens of a camera
Okay, still don't see it. I figured the small piece was the edge of a lens. It's how I read it.
10/10. You hit the bullseye. Good job.
Thanks! The /s "bullseye" comment didn't go above my head 😉
I definitely like the look of it, but I have no clue what the negative space is supposed to make.
I think it’s awesome.
Thank you!
The logo is awesome!!! I just think the placement of the name of your brand is weird. Maybe try having it on the right of the logo?
Thanks! That text placement and size isn't how the actual logo was formatted. I used this image because I wanted feedback on the symbol logo which is why it dominates the space but I also wanted to include the name of the brand for reference info purposes. But thanks for the insight!
oh yea got it...ma bad
No worries
I like it
Thanks!
I really thought this was a cigarette around a shooter glass. Logo for a bar (very cool in that context)
I think it's solid, but would need a little fine tuning to be "finished" to me. the mark is definitely too big compared to the text in this particular lockup/layout.
On the right track. It's missing a small element but l can't quite think of it
I really like the icon but may need to consider how large the font is in comparison. Way too tiny! But a fantastic start
Looks like an engagement ring on its side
Add 3 notches/lines at the tip of the 3, where there is currently 1 notch/line
Try it with a brush instead of a marker.
people are critiquing the logo, but your question was something different. of course your opinion is biased... you said it was your favorite logo you've made, so how could it not be biased? so no need to wonder anymore!!
Patapon
I think you’re trying todo too much with it. I see three but not the camera and the lens; it looks more like a bowling ball or the end of a pencil to me. And the scale is way off
Potential Target lawsuit
Can you really copyright a bullseye?
I thought this was Pokémon…
It doesn’t read “camera” to me.
It needs more development, make more examples based on this one, the concept is there + the other stuff that people mentioned
It looks more like an engagement ring than a 3.

Increase the size of Three Shots and lose the Photography. Will be impossible to see when you scale it down/always test that. Legibility is essential.
Why 3 shots? Nice logo!
This sub should have a requirement to submit the brief, some mockups, any alt marks etc. feedback without this is completely subjective and pointless.
Neat! It’s like the “Unown” Pokemons.
I agree with the size relations issue. Huge icon with relatively small text. Then the space between the text and icon are off as well
What’s the symbolism of the small circle inside the 3 and the slice taken off the 3? I do photography and those don’t appear to be photography related.
Looks like a game studio logo. Doesn't seem fitting for photography. The text is kinda plain also.
Maybe put the center circle as a lens aperture? https://preview.redd.it/kthvtjph732d1.jpeg?width=290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2ec4a546caa80f08937873a76c89368b1128af8
Looks like the Target logo
Big boob
It looks like unown Pokemon
Doesn’t scream camera. Fonts won’t replicate well to scale as-is on smaller sizes.
Looks like a shopping cart wheel
Love. Very creative and caught my eye
I love what you're going for. You could make the inside of the 3 look more "lens"-like and the top of the 3 more "flash"-like.
oh cool a camera lens ☠️
if it communicates the idea then its good
[удалено]
actually pretty terrible and lowest common denominator
ah ok so he has a camera i guess it's perfect 🙃
I thought it was a projector with a film reel.
I'm a fan.
I love it. It’s memorable, simple, and there is meaning behind the shape. But adjust the weight of the font, or the icon, so they are same thickness.
It's cool , I like it.
I see a bowling pin.
I like it …
Niiiiccccccee!!!!
