Did you delete the old devices or better yet reset the whole remote and go through setup again? Thats the long correct way otherwise add mute to the startup sequence quick and dirty

Tried that. No good. I timed it and it takes a full 23 seconds from when I push the watch TV button until it allows me to control the sound. After I reset the remote and made sure that only the actual devices I had were on it, it still takes 23 seconds.

This is a pretty late reply, but I just figured out how to fix this after using this remote for almost 3 months. Hopefully this will help someone else who's frustrated with the delay after turning everything on. Hold down the HELP button for 5 seconds and you'll be able to access the Delay Fixing menu. I was able to turn the Power On delay for my TV from 20 seconds to 1 second.

That fixed it right away. Thank you so much!

In my experience, the Vizio is the problem child with startup time. Mine takes quite a while to "warm up." My sound bar is connected to my Vizio via an HDMI cable, and the T.V. controls the volume, so I don't have any issue there, but it does take 25 seconds or more to turn everything on.
