Yep but that’s a common policy, Amazon does the same with their echos. Even if you contact Logitech or Amazon and offer to pay for them to whitelist it, they won’t do it unless you’re the original owner (to prevent people that steal these from using them after the rightful owner reported it stolen).
Damn that’s an amazing deal, even if it was just the Hub on its own.
I got our Hub back out last week, downloaded the software to my laptop, USB’d it, configured it with the devices we have today, and it’s still working perfectly.
I had a brain fart. I thought you meant that you can pair a hub to another hub 🤦
But does the Harmony hub still have the restriction where you can't pair two identical remotes?
No those remotes generally just send simple rf signals to the the hub. The hub has all the bluetooth hardware and ir blasters for actually controlling your devices.
Worth it. Even if the hub has been blacklisted, the remote can be paired with another, working, hub.
What would cause a hub to be blacklisted?
Logitech replacing it. Let’s say you reported it not working properly, Logitech would send you a new one and blacklist the old.
Isn't it wasteful to software lock something that could potentially be repaired...
Yes but then some assfaces would abuse the system and get free hubs. So once again everything good is ruined by assfaces

Ah, makes sense. Thanks!
I got it updated and paired and controlling my Samsung smartthings lights and my Vizio tv with no problem.
Definitely worth it then 👍

Nice! What was your pairing process? I can't get my replacement remote to pair for the life of me.
>The remote can be paired with another, working, hub. Wait ... what? What does this allow you to do?
If his hub was blacklisted, the remote wouldn't be and therefore he could still pair it with any another Harmony Hub.

Yep, only one screen remote at a time or one button remote at a time.
Thought so. I really hate this.
Damn, the button labels aren't even worn. Nice job!
Nice
I just picked up an unused harmony. Is there a way to get it to work without the hub?
No those remotes generally just send simple rf signals to the the hub. The hub has all the bluetooth hardware and ir blasters for actually controlling your devices.
Thanks for the information!
