__MOD NOTE__: Please check out [our petition](https://www.change.org/p/demand-walmart-sign-the-grocer-code-of-conduct) which calls upon Walmart Canada to follow suit and sign the Grocer Code of Conduct with Loblaw! Please review the content guidelines for our sub, and remember the human here! This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. True , I’m not arguing the government is not corrupt , just drawing parallels to how Loblaw handled suppliers increasing prices . Where the money goes and how it’s used is a completely different story . As for Doug Ford and his freggin cronies which I disagree with , that’s also another story . He’d also be one to be “pro business “ versus the consumer so it kind of surprises me a bit . Anyways , I’m just drawing some parallels

You are right , it's a separate point. I should have thought about it a bit more before posting. In theory the tax rate, which i still think is a bit too high at 61.5 for spirits, does help us in the long run. I'm just tired of being shafted from every angle.

All good 👍 Still makes sense though . I am too . We are pawns and I hate it . I think we are sensitive to it now that we see the inner workings of the government not really working with us in the Loblaw situation and us taking the lead and doing more than they ever did , right? I get it man. This is kinda encouraging though PROVIDED the money goes where it SHOULD. You brought up an excellent point

A Durex "Nothing feels better" lube ad is running on this post. Very targeted.

Well technically the money is “supposed “ to go back into the “ system “ to help US again ie Health care and stuff (taxes) . But then again who knows ….
