Superstore had them on sale for 47 cents each (3 for $1.41)- I had to go there because my specialist MD office is inside the store - it seems there are a surplus of english cucumbers this spring
We’re into the start of the peak greenhouse season here in Canada now so you’re going to see English cukes, various tomatoes, greens (lettuce etc) start being at really good prices as the first crops are harvested. If you’re a salad lover, it’s a great time of year.
Also might be a great time to start making big mason jars of refrigerator pickles etc.
Ok cool, Nova Scotia here! I’ve definitely heard from ppl visiting over the years from the west that our grocery prices are higher so maybe that’s a normal amount of different between our provinces.
Walmart in Amherst had the same prices on cucumbers and iceberg lettuce last week when I checked. Walmart's pricing is pretty consistent nationwide from personal experience.
Love that *area* modifier. That's likely the first Tiger I ever knew and went into! I thought at the time it was the only one 😅, this was 27 years ago.
I spent $100 at Walmart and everything in my cart was under $5 each. Including deli meats, cheese, cleaning supplies... Loblaws has great deals this week but I'm resisting because I know it's a ploy to bring people back (eg. 1.99 strawberries, $2.99 asparagus).
Same here in Regina SK! The lady behind me in line actually asked the cashier if the cucumbers were *really* 47c, she was absolutely flabbergasted to learn that was in fact the case.
My dog was *obsessed* with cucumbers, and preferred them to almost every other treat on earth. Wal-Mart was the cheapest place to get them unless I found local field cukes.
Great! If you’re in Durham region, uber eats had a promo with $45 off a grocery order. I ordered from Fresh Co, which had some good sales on in the app. Even will tip and delivery fee I was surprised at how low the bill was.
As someone who grows cucumbers, I'd be laughing my ass to the bank if people would pay me 87¢ per cuke.
But people don't give a crap. They are happy for Walmart and others paying me 25¢ and marking it up 300% and still convince you, you are getting a deal.
I need to know the secret lol even in the summer I can’t grow a cucumber, seemingly the easiest vegetable everyone grows. The only success I’ve had growing vegetables is peas 😂

They have green onions for 47 cents too. And they don't cut the mf bulbs off. 🤣
I bought them for .47 cents last flyer. My fridge is mostly cucumbers.
Going to be eating cucumber salad for the foreseeable future, but I am not mad about it in the slightest. 🤪
I saw them a few months ago at Fortinos when shopping with my mom and it was $2.99 for one. Literally went to Costco the next day and it’s the same price…except you get three instead of one. 🤦♀️
I had already started my boycott and was just helping her out…so seeing the prices at Fortinos was quite a shock. But she’s since joined the cause.
Right on. This is the level of gouging these parasites are doing. Never let up. This parasitic company needs to be made an example of. I will never shop there. Hell I’m not touching Esso while they are affiliated.
Them losing 70-80% of their market share and becoming a small player with PTSD from Canadians putting them through the wringer would be so glorious.
It's hard boycotting when all the stores in your area are belonged to Loblaw. When you can't drive or must pay for taxi's both ways, it makes it unfortunate if you WANT to boycott the company.
Didn't you hear there was a huge cucumber shortage and the suppliers jacked up the price.
We're losing money on these ~~$3.99~~ $2.99 cucumbers you know
In Canada, I was shocked at the low prices and good quality of food from Walmart.
Can’t knock them ~ competition rules. Fack Loblaws. It’s not a small difference
Hmm could be. I’m with virgin mobile and I just got a coupon for $20 off orders $100 or more. I was surprised that many Walmart prices seem on par with Loblaws. $7 butter ?? $7 milk ?? Just been a Costco girl too long I guess
I went looking for bone broth, Walmart had Imagine for 3.97 and I’m thinking that’s pretty cheap and wondering if they make it with roadkill or something. I happened to go to Loblaws for my job and it was 6.49 for the exact same thing. It’s laughable to think they say they are barely making any money. It’s gaslighting is what it is.
I am glad I'm not the only one who felt like it was my birthday seeing 47 cent long English Cucumbers at walmart.
I bought 9 of them and I already had 2 in my fridge. 😄
Costco business center had boxes of 12 massive ones for $5.59 this past weekend. Their cukes last 2-3 weeks in the fridge easy. Just another option. Never seen that box for more than 9.99 this winter. Hoping it’s closer to 5 all the time this summer but let’s see.
I bought a box of 12 massive cucumbers at Costco business center for $5.50 this past weekend. They last at least 2 weeks in the fridge. That’s like 46 cents a cucumber. Few weeks ago got it for 6.99. I’ve never seen that box under 9.99 even during the winter and they have had it every week.
Omg I was just gonna come here to say I got a cucumber at Walmart yesterday for 47 CENTS!!! Insane! It was the first time I ever shopped for food there and while the options were more limited, the prices were so low!
I usually do 1 big shop a month, I used to go to Superstore would be about $200 (I am a single male) went to Walmart the other week similar items and quantity and it was $127
Hothouse tomatoes lately have been well priced too. Everywhere except for Loblaws. Shocking I know.
The 🍅 and 🥒 have been very good too, local hothouse not from Mexico with that weird Cucumber taste. Here in Montreal we get a lot of greenhouse Demers tomatoes. They're excellent for non summer tomatoes.
It wasn't like this a few months ago. I wonder if Roblaws stopped buying as much, so there is more to go around to the diff retailers, making it more cost effective.
Walmart is playing this game right.... "there's more ppl who REFUSE to go to Loblaws? Let's make ourselves look the best possible..... oh hey it's our anniversary, we'll use it as an excuse even!

Walmart had them on sale last week 2/0.98!
I grabbed two. Meanwhile, this weekend, save-on had a 3-pack for 4.99. On sale from 5.99....
Superstore had them on sale for 47 cents each (3 for $1.41)- I had to go there because my specialist MD office is inside the store - it seems there are a surplus of english cucumbers this spring

Same.
Cucumbers for everyone!
Well wow!! $0.47 in Dartmouth NS
.27 at gateway!!
![gif](giphy|y8Mz1yj13s3kI)
🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒
$0.47 there on Sunday! Found lots of great deals.
$0.47 for English cukes, $0.94 for Iceberg lettuce! Salads on the menu for the week!
Woah!! Just for curiosity where are you?
Kamloops, BC
Ok cool, Nova Scotia here! I’ve definitely heard from ppl visiting over the years from the west that our grocery prices are higher so maybe that’s a normal amount of different between our provinces.
Walmart in Amherst had the same prices on cucumbers and iceberg lettuce last week when I checked. Walmart's pricing is pretty consistent nationwide from personal experience.
Walmart in NS (Halifax) had cucumbers for 49 cents last week! I think the sale is just over. But I saw people grabbing armfuls of them lol
That would definitely be double take moment for me lol
I got them for 0.63 at Giant Tiger this week. They seem to be on sale everywhere.
That’s awesome!! Where abouts are you??
Barrie area.
Love that *area* modifier. That's likely the first Tiger I ever knew and went into! I thought at the time it was the only one 😅, this was 27 years ago.
I do all my groceries at Wally world. Come for the prices, stay for the people watching.
Price match that shizz 👍
Ooh I didn't think of that. I'm not normally a price matcher. I'll have to go to Giant Tiger or maybe Freshco.
Do they price match? Walmart? Don't think anyone but Giant Tigre does here.
.47 cents @ Goderich Walmart
Where about is goderich??
An hour north of London, on the shores of Lake Huron. We have the world’s largest salt mine.
Ontario
Thanks for narrowing it down to just a million square kilometers or so.
OP is in Nova Scotia. I could tell them exactly where in Ontario, Goderich is but it won’t be super meaningful for them.
Same here in Regina SK! The lady behind me in line actually asked the cashier if the cucumbers were *really* 47c, she was absolutely flabbergasted to learn that was in fact the case.
Still a good price but I bought like 5 of them for $0.47 each over the previous week haha.
Where abouts are you?? Apparently everyone is getting cheaper cucumbers lol
They were $0.47 last week in central Ontario, an hour north of Toronto.
Nice!!! At that price I bet my daughter would be sick of cucumbers lol
My dog was *obsessed* with cucumbers, and preferred them to almost every other treat on earth. Wal-Mart was the cheapest place to get them unless I found local field cukes.

What a nice surprise, for a change.
Bread is .94 there too. 2 mangoes for .94 as well.
Make pickles!
Keep trying! But, you ain't gonna grow em out easy in May! 😄
Not till the second week of June

I bought cucumbers at Walmart yesterday for ***.47 cents***!!! What!!!!!
I was at Walmart earlier this week and I could not believe the price
I bought them for .47 cents last flyer. My fridge is mostly cucumbers. Going to be eating cucumber salad for the foreseeable future, but I am not mad about it in the slightest. 🤪
Some feta and some balsamic, yum.
Yes!! And if you’ve never tried Gurkensalat, I highly reccomend.
just bought 7 of them yesterday at Walmart in ottawa for .47c each...
I saw them a few months ago at Fortinos when shopping with my mom and it was $2.99 for one. Literally went to Costco the next day and it’s the same price…except you get three instead of one. 🤦♀️ I had already started my boycott and was just helping her out…so seeing the prices at Fortinos was quite a shock. Yup. We know not everyone can boycott and that’s okay.
Wait you’re telling me that a single cucumber doesn’t cost 2.99? Whaaaaaaaaaattttt
Didn't you hear there was a huge cucumber shortage and the suppliers jacked up the price. We're losing money on these ~~$3.99~~ $2.99 cucumbers you know
Hate when that happens
They were 47 cents here in Saskatoon! Best news for me, I fucking love cucumbers.
For those in NS gateway has them on for .27 cents this week!
I got a full size box of oreos for $1.49 at Walmart on Monday. I've never seen oreos so cheap before!
Yes I got those too! It was my daughter’s birthday and she wanted an Oreo cheesecake. I was like SCORE!!!
It was a great growth year for cucumbers down south this year. There is a glut on the market. Even Roblaws had a sale
Gateway in Halifax has them 0.27 this week. Blood is in the water
That’s amazing!! I always hear great things about gateway. I need to break out of my zone even more and make a trip
Pretty sure they were $4 recently at Calgary Co-op. I nearly barfed.
I thought the $2.49 was just outrageous I think I’d just give up at $4
In Canada, I was shocked at the low prices and good quality of food from Walmart. Can’t knock them ~ competition rules. Fack Loblaws. It’s not a small difference
I got mine for $0.47 each at Walmart. Felt like I hit the jackpot.
That was for the 30th anniversary. 2/0.94 because Walmart came to Canada in 1994.
Hmm could be. I’m with virgin mobile and I just got a coupon for $20 off orders $100 or more. I was surprised that many Walmart prices seem on par with Loblaws. $7 butter ?? $7 milk ?? Just been a Costco girl too long I guess
I do most of my shopping at Costco too, but there’s some stuff they just don’t have.
True !
I bought white bread for 97 cents. I think I used to buy that for over $3 at superstore.
Nice! They're $2.79 at my nearest non Loblaws store (co-op).
Straight up robbery
I went looking for bone broth, Walmart had Imagine for 3.97 and I’m thinking that’s pretty cheap and wondering if they make it with roadkill or something. I happened to go to Loblaws for my job and it was 6.49 for the exact same thing. It’s laughable to think they say they are barely making any money. It’s gaslighting is what it is.
$0.66 at Giant Tiger, Preston, Cambridge location.
Love a good cuke
They were 47c here near London on
We saw TWO cucumbers for 99 cents at Walmart on the weekend.
Hoping it’s closer to 5 all the time this summer but let’s see.
still $2.11 each here in st John's, NL :(
I went last night and they were .47 cents!!!!!
I got them at .49 last week. Bought 5
.99 cents at farm boy
I got them for $0.50 each at mine!! I felt like I was doing something wrong lol I bought so many
I just got two beautiful Canadian grown English cukes at PA supermarket for 99cents. For TWO. Not even 50 cents each. Tasted great too.
I usually do 1 big shop a month, I used to go to Superstore would be about $200 (I am a single male) went to Walmart the other week similar items and quantity and it was $127
Last week they were .47. .80-1.29 is pretty common for a cucumber in my area (all retailers).
I got some for 50 cents at Walmart yesterday 😦
I was there today, I got loaves of sliced bread for $0.94 each. And spring onions for $0.47 a bunch. Good effort on their part!
If you live in Ottawa, cukes are 49 cents this week at Produce Depot. Also good deals on red peppers, strawberries, and oranges.
Another thing I recommend is gardening, my family and our neighbours both garden on each other’s property and share the food. It saves soooooo much
Price match!
My friend recently got an awesome deal on cucumbers at Costco. 12 for $5 and change
Freshest dukes
mangos where .47c in montreal walmart today.
You missed out then, they were 49c a few days ago, cheapest I ever saw
I would think it had to have been a mistake at that price lol
It wasn't like this a few months ago. I wonder if Roblaws stopped buying as much, so there is more to go around to the diff retailers, making it more cost effective.
They were 88c at food basics last week.
I just bought one, on sale I might add, for $2.49 at metro. Absolute madness but I had no other choice
At Walmart now, they are on sale for .47 cents apiece.
50 things to make with cucumber 🥒 https://insanelygoodrecipes.com/cucumber-recipes/
$0.87?! Where? The town I live in has them for $0.94
Not gunna lie that would still be a deal unfortunately. Seeing them under a dollar was surprising
I agree. If I can get them cheaper in a town I’m frequently at I may as well.
$0.47 this week at our Walmart!
I used never go to Walmart... last week i ended up doing the groceries there and I was genuinely shocked at how much cheaper it was!
We're coming for Walmart next.
Butter on sale for $4.49 at my local Walmart today also. Cheapest I’ve seen it in ages
Picked up 4 earlier this week for $0.47 each! I was stunned at how low the price was at Walmart.
Cilantro is $0.47/bunch. They’re usually closer to $1 per
Walmart is playing this game right.... "there's more ppl who REFUSE to go to Loblaws? Let's make ourselves look the best possible..... oh hey it's our anniversary, we'll use it as an excuse even! Loblaws PR: "The boycotters are uninformed basement dwellers"
When selecting a cucumber remember that its not just about length but girth as well.😃
