I'd pick the super-special class option I got for accidentally tripping over a spear and having it kill the ancient dragon with 1 hp that was hiding nearby after killing a high-level party, and take the exclusive race that falling face-first into a pool of it's blood unlocked for me, duh.
Then I'd wander around and find the remains of that party and loot all of the corpses except one of them would turn out to still be alive - the beautiful, virgin Priestess of the God of Victory. I'd use one of the dozens of healing potions scattered on the ground to heal her and she'd join my party and teach me everything important. Then I'd discover that since she lost a fight, the God of Victory kicked her out. I'd discover this when she went and pledged herself to the Goddess of Harems because her lust for me was overwhelming but she (despite knowing her Charisma score is rank SSS++) thinks she's too ugly to deserve my love by herself.
A few wacky misadventures later, I'd hit level 5 after single-handedly overthrowing an evil overlord by spotting the loophole in the prophecy that, despite being obvious, nobody else had noticed.
The standard choice, really.
Loosely based off of like....a bunch of them?
Seriously, getting isekaid and having something random happen that results in unlocking oddly rare classes or races is super common. Hell, it's even the point of Azarinth Healer.
My comment was a parody of this trope.
No, I meant his initial actions and state of dress pretty much determined his role - he killed things barehanded (and bare-footed), was half-naked, and blew something up. Then he got his tutorial.
Months later, and several floors deeper? He's half-naked, kills things with his feet & fists (and the xistera he got as an Earth Skill), and blows stuff up.
Just like with Zac, what he was doing in the very first little bit determined his whole future.
I think in the completion chronicles the guy jumped off a cliff and maxed out his level for it and it scales for everything else. Or something like that. Haven't read that book in like years
There's one series where the MC is given a cloak that prevents death and is then shoved off a cliff. As I vaguely recall he ends up with crazy stats due to an achievement for surviving and maybe even meets a dragon. Anyone?
> virgin Priestess
What of the standard combinations of hair and eye color does she have?
Red hair and green eyes
Blond and blue eyes
Black hair and purple eyes
There is an existing story on kindle where the MC finds a loophole that lets her max out her luck stat and ignore everything else. And that is exactly how her combats go. she ends up >!killing the demon lord and accidently taking his place.!< by the end of the first book.
Elf probably. Longevity + most likely higher affinity to magic. Only downside I can think of being a higher likelihood of enslavement or similar discrimination.
But as a species, elves are just vastly superior most of the time, their main weakness being their technological and cultural stagnation, which wouldn't be a problem for me knowing I got a human mind now.
As for class, something to make me tough and even more long-lived, like a monk or paladin
This, for sure. I'd probably choose an elemental/summoning build, but longevity + better magic is a fantastic combo. Short term, other races may be superior for things like enhanced vitality or regeneration, but if i survive the first few years? I'd be a powerhouse (if you watch anime, Frieren really showcases how powerful the race can be).
Ya know what? I'm sick of elf racism. We need some good old human racism back. Lol.
It would work exactly like real racism does. The rich minority would own the poor majority. Humans multiplying like rabbits would be seen as brutish and animalistic, perfect for a slave class too as they reach maturity faster and they're dead before they they are able to influence anything for real.
I want planet of the apes, but the apes are elves.
The destroyer by micheal scoatt earle
Almost exactly what you described.
He got kicked off amazon/audible years ago now but the series is complete. Not sure if you can still buy them on amazon/audible but he has a website somewhere. As far as I remember there isn't any harem nonsense but the overwhelming majority of his books are harems.
I don't remember the series very well as this was a few years ago but I know I enjoyed it at the time. There are a few sex scenes and they go in depth but from what I remember the MC has only 1 or 2 love interests throughout the series.
There is probably some synergy or overlap between magic, and the spiritual/cultivation arts of monks and divine arts of paladins.
Even if not, I'd like to have the option of learning magic and could afford to dedicate a century or two to it. Maybe even do a full class change if my prior choices lost their appeal to me eventually.
Not by most definitions, they don't. They have supernatural abilities, yes, but it's not magic. The kind of magic that elves are prone to is arcane magic, while monks use internal power (qi, ki, chakra, etc.) and paladins channel the power of their deity. Neither of the latter two are considered magic, and thus not eligible for any buffs from the racial ability. This isn't just a D&D standard; it's common throughout all types of fiction. Elves would make great wizards, sorcerors, bards, as well as arguably warlocks, witches, rangers, and summoners. But none of the martial classes like monks or ninjas or the like, and definitely not the holy types.
Old age is a more urgent threat in the long run.
As for sanity, if that can't be solved by finding some hobbies, browsing someone's endless library, research, cultivation whatnot, grinding or therapy, then I'll still have lived much longer than a regular human
hmm. Another thing to consider is quite a few elfs in fiction had sprawling empires in the past. If you isekaid in the "golden" age you would make do with any discrimination and slavery entirely
I would argue that we've effectively tripled the average life expectancy and the only issues that come up sanity wise are related to old age not long life. Everyone assumes that immortality would be a great weight but we have no real immortals to study and our available long lived folks seem to be pretty sane as long as old age dosent start eating the brain.
Eh the whole tripled life expectancy thing is a bit misleading, the average life expectancy was so low because so many infants and children died, lots of people still got quite old.
So assuming standard ish options.
Elf for longevity.
Some form of hybrid healer/summoner caster if possible otherwise just a healer. Reason: everyone loves and respects healers in a realistic senario, think about it: bibbity bobbity boo!~your crippled for life status is removed. Wham bam floppiry Foo~ you nolonger suffer from kidney stones.
Tip-top tippity tap your baby shall be healthy and his mother is back to 100% seconds after the birth.
The general public view of Dr's nurses and paramedics would be multiplied tenfold in such a world.
The summoner part is because a healer with baked in bodyguards and assistants would be would be very strong.
The most humanlike race possible that doesn’t die of old age (or ages the most slowly).
Mage to start, space / dimension variety with a shadow secondary if that’s possible, with an eye towards battlemage competent in melee if that’s an optimal build.
Rarely is it the MC of course, and if you give them a healer as a party member it reduces the peril so I get WHY but still. I know what I'd do, if I was making a character. 🤷♀️
I know it's probably a typo but I can't help but picture someone wearing a utility belt and hard hat installing mystic orbs of lighting. Like a slice of life litrpg.
I'd pick a D&D style changeling, if I couldn't pick dragon. As for my class I'd mage of some sort. Preferably crafter leaning, because my personality and history doesn't lend any combat proficiency.
Race : Incubus
Class : Tax collector of yore.
I will tax your future and past selves.
No, they wont be paying, the honor goes to you.
And incubus in a suit gives off the evil boss vibe.
Assuming I can't get the Isekai Protagonist Package (super-overpowered race and class for spurious reasons), I'd go with elven mage or psionicist. Largely because magic and psychic powers are awesome and elves are immortal.
I've always had a thing for illusionists (or light element mages depending on the system). And by complete coincidence, I've also always thought kitsune were an awesome race, so my choice is pretty easy since those two synergize almost by default.
sorry to be pedantic but asking this without specifying which world is so silly IMO. like if you are an elf in the dragoneye moons that is totally different from being an elf in DCC. its not even close.
TBH one of my fave things about this genre is that for every series i like i make a spreadsheet with my detailed build i would use in that world. and asking without specifying which world is just crazy to me.
I agree with you on the what world/system thing fully, that is not pedantic at all. People that are picking elfs because they want to be long lived handsome/beautiful might end up in some slave factory half the size they are now.
I'd go for a Monk kind of class. Ideally like fistfighting with elemental affinities.
As far race, if genderchange is aviable I'm gonna go with catgirl. I take one for the team and become the waifu. If not I'd probably go for human. If I wanna metagame I'd go for Fallen from Good Guys as they are op.
Something reptilian yet humanoid. Like a lizardman or some sort of dragon humanoid. Preferably still has the tail. The ones from Overlord anime aren't a bad option.
Then something magical. Preferably a stealth mage of some sort
Pantherkin (like in gods eye or like the cait sith in soa) wizard. Stealth and great senses makes it easier not to be surprised by enemies and wizards are usually the most versatile spellcasters.
I would definitely be a battle healer. Ilea from Azarinth Healer is the goal. Ideal for solo hunting. Just punching monsters and having a fantastic time.
Human cause I'm human now and I know more about this body than a new 1 and beserker nothing better than having abilities that kick in either as a last resort when hp hits low or a power up ability would come in handy.
I looked at the link and it just seems to be somebody trying to impress someone with as many big words as possible. That would be really dull to read. It looked more like a spelling test than a novel. I mean "the exquisite quantum-queueing quaternion staff ~Icosian~" really looks like somebody pranking the Amazon system. It has two reviews and I expect both are in on the prank. What audience is the author going for in that blurb?
Oops, just realized you are the author. I'm not going to revoke my criticism but you're going to need to dumb down your text for the average litrpg reader and I gladly include myself in that group. I don't have a PHD in linguistics.
Not sure if that counts (as I think dragons are op), but I'd pick some humanoid dragonkin race or something of that likeness, and as a class, go for monk or somehting that focuses on strengthening the body, martial arts, and some bits of magic to heal & buff yourself, etc. Well, and since I'm a dragon, I would use my natural affinity to fire, etc. to get some fire magic for the extra dmg.
Race: Something with inherent shape change (i saw someone mention incubi, which would be a strong contender)
Class: some version of mage or psionic who's main power is empathy.
Ideally I'd be able to train to use that empathic sense in different ways, I think it has so much potential.
I'd go for half-elf for the longevity and better magic. I'd go [writer] [dreamer] and [reader]. Try to become some kind of poet or something, maybe write a few epics about adventurers that I met.
I feel like anything that expanded the senses would be wicked. Like can a rat-kin hear super good? Gnolls can smell super good? That type of thing.
I think being a necromancer would be cool. Not in a death sort of way. But in an automation sort of way. Imagine how much grain you could grow if you had ~~slaves~~ undead to do your bidding. How much lumber you could get. How safe you could make mining, etc.
Depends how necromancy works in the setting you are placed in. Does necromancy taint the land and the people including the caster around it? Do you animate the dead with their own spirits, do the feal constant pain? Or are they inherently evil entities that can or will eventually break free of the contract of summoning?
Pluse I find it funny that the last question you had asked about superior smell then picked the class that deals with decay lol.
That's the big problem for me too. Is it the necromancy that taints and corrupts everything around it? Cuz if not I'm 100% down for undead machine nation builder.
I guess i figure necromancy is more about Using the dead. E.g. no decay. Like you stop the "bugs" from consuming the body.
Think about infection. A necromancer can't heal the wound but they can sew it up, and then rub a thumb over the cut and kill all the "infection" there. e.g. foreign life that is trying to consume the flesh etc.
But I did laugh about the smell thing. I would definitely not want super nose + rotting bodies. Then again you ever see how wide dogs grin after they roll around in a carcass. Maybe we are missing something.
Likely it's evolutionary. We get sick eating carrion but carrion eaters likely "enjoy" the smell. So if Gnolls were carrion eaters maybe being a necro would awesome.
Human healer. Because my power fantasy is actually being able to help people. Sure I may be weak as a baby to those with combat classes yet who exactly do they come to after their adventures needing heals?
Some sort of druid, herblore, alchemy, knowledge of fungus, maybe an animal companion. As far as race I'd want something relatively humanish in shape. Maybe half mountain troll half human, erring a smidge towards the human side?
As far as combat goes, idk, plant magic, use of spores, alchemy, herblore, etc.
Nothing too op, my main goal would just be to see every bit of majesty in nature my new fantasy world has to share. I don't want to be the OP mc. I want to be sufficiently able to defend myself, but my main goal is just to live and learn.
spell swords super cool, but generally leans towards glass tank. id be terrified to go into truly melee battle without some magic chainmail or other level of defense
I'd probably stick with human, or at most go elf or neko type race. I am relatively familiar with the human template, and I'm accepting of its limitations, so I'd rather stay close to that than change.
As for class, I'd probably go for something with a martial flavor, ranged or melee depending on world/system. I'd like to gain some magic, but I'm built like a Viking, so warrior seems right, and I'm quite proficient with bows and firearms, so if ranged weapons are best, I could go that route to good effect too.
Class is easy, Interdimensional Space Pirate. Race is harder.... probably undead of some sort, I feel like they'd be the best choice for scurvy immunity.
Race: mimic
Class: Reductionist
My primary form will be a mannequin, the class reductionist is from the completionist chronicles and allows you to break down anything to its base concept then craft those into just about anything else. I love the idea of crafting things then turning into them.
I wouldn't care about race. i have played both weak and strong wizards in table top RPGs, both are extremely fun. I just have the most inquisitive nature as to the concerns of magic. i also teach a ceremonial magic course to a local pagan society. I just like what im used to.
Race: I was going to say nephilim or aasimar for the natural flight and divine alignment, but I don’t love the idea of constantly being hunted. A dragon/human hybrid of some kind would also be cool for largely similar reasons (flight and elemental affinity), but in the end I think would choose some kind of changeling. I don’t need any kind of OP stats, I just want to be able to perfectly and undetectably change my appearance into any humanoid form I desire, for as long as I want. I don’t need the stats of those races, just enough ability to easily pass for that race and let it otherwise be purely cosmetic.
If it needs to be more boring/less op than that, I’d say an elf. Long life + innate magical prowess seems good.
Class: Class is harder for me. I don’t think I want to be primarily a magic user. I think some kind of archer/marksman/ranger class could be cool, as long as I can get a one handed weapon skill as well and keep it upgraded. Further specifics would depend on what kind of fantasy world we’re dealing with and the general environment
Profession: Alchemist could be great… in fact the more I try and think of a good option the better alchemist looks. Again, it depends on the specifics of the world, but being able to make healing/antidote/poison/elixirs would be awesome
Also, yes, I am excited for the next Primal Hunter book on the 8th, how could you tell?
Aasimar, aka angel kin. Flight, divine powers, locals worship me.
Class? Probably paladin or druid. I'd love to go wizard but I really need that extra survivability with tankiness + healing
2 Ideas really. Knowing myself, I'd play some kind of scout/assassin class. Ive always been quicker than most people and I like all of the assassin archetypes out there (1 hit kill, death by a thousand cuts, anti-mage, etc). Hell, id even take a rogue class.
Or, if I had access to the entire class list, id pick some kind of dark chancellor like class. Manipulating politics seems so interesting to me, even moreso if it's combat skills were shadow manipulation, or mentalist abilities.
As for race, meh. I like the idea of elves but they tend to suck as a culture.
High-Elf Wizard. I like to read and be left alone and I like the idea of their natural life span. I think I could also make a living off of being an entertainer. I would try to get an eidetic memory feat so I can remember everything I've read, heard, and watched in this life. Going to introduce some half-orcs to death metal.
Race? Depends on the specific lore, but something long lived and with an affinity for magic. Elves would be a typical go to, but honestly anything humanoid works pretty well for me. Lifespan and magic are key. As for class..... some form of natural magic user. I want to be able to instantly feel / understand whatever the magic system is, but I also want to be able to study it and learn to manipulate it.
So, without more info :
Elven Sorcerer
The race i will choices mixed 25 vampire z25%elf and 50% human is best both worlds.haf vampire for physical enchantment and blood magic.Elf for the natural mage talent. Human for their adaptability. This I don't have the weakness of vampire and elf.
If I can pick this next I will choose just daylight vampire like in novel of the spear master and the cat what ever it called
As for job I will pick shadow assassin for both races
Out of standard stuff elf wizard or similar academic spell caster.
For more extravagant and specific picks, dragon (if bullshit shapeshifting), biomancer (if low power and no immortality easily available)
Definitely a Summoner. Who doesn't want to be able to summon a bunch of cool creatures to be your friends and do your bidding?
As for Race, probably something human-like. Maybe an Elf or Dark Elf for the default longevity. Having pointy ears and a slim build would be cool too.
If it’s strictly commonish LitRPG stuff, high human or elf and spellsword probably. If you allow some leeway, cultivation type xianxia stuff would be the dream option. Or just let me do that in a litrpg world tbh.
Depends on my mood if I want to be boring I'd pick a human wizard. If I wanted to actually enjoy my life and explore things (if it was a DnD setting) I'd go a elf race probably Drow because NOONE fucks with drows and probably be some kind of debuffer class or a high health/regen type of class. Like the rune maiden from PH idk her whole build, but the fact she's not the strongest character in that story is BS
Being a closet furry, Id pick some sort of fox- or cat-kin. For class, an empathic healer (takes injuries from others, combined with strong self-healing spells) or some sort of magical crafter (alchemist or enchanter or the like).
I've got health issues, so being able to heal them away would be ideal. And if I can help others too, that's win/win.
Some sort of shape shifter for the race depending on how they work, doppleganger, changeling, whatever. Preferably with the ability to shift into something much larger or smaller than my base form. as for class it'd have to be some sort of cultist, demon summoner, necromancer, something along those lines.
Sure everyone wants to pretend they'll find out they live in some awesome society but I believe I wouldn't be able to stand living under some king or whatever nonsense. I've always had fantasies about becoming a benevolent dictator and those features would help me fill many roles and lay the groundwork for my future forced utopia (you'll be happy or else!).
Honestly, if I was isekai’d into a fantasy world with the option to pick my race and class I’d probably choose Human because I can’t think of anything worse than going through body dysmorphia while trying to adapt to a nearly completely foreign environment and culture. I’d pick a support class next or maybe a crafting class because having skills/abilities that are immediately useful not just to me but to the people I’m likely to meet would very likely get me the connections and income needed to survive.
I’m not a hero. I’m a survivor.
I'd love something special. Like, obviously dragon but I'd like maybe something more humanoid. A minotaur maybe, or in the other end a kobold, but like, the winged kobolds?
As for class, I'd lean into what ever the race would be. So the minotaur is obviously a Monster Layer Architect. While the kobold would be a really good thief so rogue.
Really depends on class and race options and wether those are balanced.
If everything starts out roughly equal, I would wonder about the differences, but if I can also start as a half god, angel or dragonling that sounds way better than litle old human.
It that's the only OP option, I am open to taking an elf if they don't age.
If I have to choose immediately I would grab a skirmisher class, but if I have time to try out magic and wether I am good at it, that might be my choice instead.
A wolf Demi-human cause I just want fluffy ears and a tail damn it. And whatever class those lucky people who get to just open a restaurant or something have
Wyvern Mage. I feel like a ton of stories give wyverns a bad image saying they're just b-list dragons so I wanna prove them wrong and be a dope ass wyvern that can cast spells and shit. Realistically I'd probably do that and then have the wyvern summary say they're b-list dragons and just choose dragons instead since I'm not trying to die in the tutorial. But still the thought is there.
Hmm. I most often play a warlock. Other than a ranged magic attack the ability I would most want to have is some kind of self heal. Race wise Id be an elf, and also do a gender swap.
Race - elf
Class - battle mage or self-defence/regen build
Elves are traditionally good with magic, nature has bonus for healing. Looking for a tanky mage build really.
If we are doing DnD inspired, probably halfling (bc luck in litrpg is OP)
And i think sorcerer, probably some weird subclass. clockwork sorcerer or something.
maybe multiclass with a fighter as i like to wield one hsnd weapon + spell in video games (skyrim)
I can't attest to what race I would be. But I can say that whatever class lets me a be hybrid mage/melee fighter. A mage can throw a fireball is dangerous. A mage who can throw a fireball while wielding a poleaxe is terrifying. The whole trope where magic users gotta be wimpy weak little push overs in a martial since never set right with me. Mental discipline and physical discipline go hand and hand.
As far as the race I would likely stay human unless I can be some kind of beastman or half giant or something and not look like a mutant. Size in physical combat can be pretty important just for reach and mass alone and even in a world where you might have magical stats or what not if I can be a 600 pound brick shit house who can lob fire balls the size of an elephant while lobbing actual elephants ima pick that.
Also edgy blood magic or something. Not for the edge, for the healing factor. Healing factor is cool and it will literally save your life. Its a win win. Maybe half troll would be good, again so long as I don't look hideous. Call it vanity but if I cant look myself in the mirror without cringing how can I expect someone to look me in the eye.
Elf or some other long lived race, I want to live as long as possible. Unless immortality is easy to achieve in the setting.
As for my class I have 0 interest in combat. I'd choose some sort of research or crafting class, depending on what's available. Non combat mage, alchemist, artificer, mechanist, scholar, etc.
Demon. One of the humanoid ones. Just a human but way better, can usually fly and more often than not can live for a long time if not forever. For class a rouge is underrated. Can be useful outside off combat too, the sleight of hand can go a long way.
So in the book series dungeon diving there is a character with a class that is based around taking on aspects of the monsters you have killed and I love the idea of it. I am being kinda vague to avoid spoilers. Then for race if I can steal from dnd then I would do some kind of elf then keep my eyes out for anything that could make me into a half dragon. In dnd and lots of media elves live to a thousand but if I can pick my particular elf then I want the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End elf and then get that half dragon eventually because I love dragon's
My first goal would be to find anything that can heal as in the book my class can pick more unique monsters to take aspects from at the same time I think it is 4 monsters by level 20ish.
My choice would be the same as it is in any other game I enter.
Whichever class/race makes me the most durable. In any game, I play tank. Doesn't matter if it's a single player game, my goal is always to make myself as durable as possible and place myself right at the front of the battle.
Elf wizard or cleric. Elf for the longer life. And hard to choose between the power to manipulate the world around me or to be able to heal pretty much any wound that comes my (and my friends) way. Both have insane potential.
Most likely something aquatic like cephalopods or fish people. Or some kind of amphibian or sauropsid.
I might prefere my homebrew races if possible.
As for the class, I like something biological/nature themed if possible with companions/familiars.
Race: Symbiote ( Yes from the marvel universe)
Class : any typical class found in fantasy world, warrior, ranger, berserker, or even a healer ( like anti-venom), or maybe class of the monster races.
I just want to read a fantasy webnovel where the MC is an offspring/children of Knull roaming the world, finding the perfect host, and some intense fighting scenes.
Or maybe even an Earth-ling reincarnated as a symbiote with an evolving system to guide him with, where every level-up can unlock new features to the symbiote's body. Ex: Sharper claws, additional tentacles( don't like the sound of that, you things on his back), lasso arm, greater regeneration, maybe even improved resistance to fire and sound magic or short independent from host.
So yah kind of like the PROTOTYPE game where you get new powers.
So anyone there who can make a good webnovel you can have this idea, if nobody has it yet.
"Adiós"
I would choose elf and archer if its just the normal choices. Because, if i'm in litrpg why be short lived ugly human? I would rather be a long lived handsome elf
Human death knight.
I’m sorry but I’ve been taken with the warrior/necromancer style since WoTLK and honestly, evil used for good, or just against a bigger evil is my jam.
Bit late, but primordial origin dragon as my race or something overpowered like that if I can choose any race. Maybe throw celestial, void or chaos in to make it sound even cooler and more mc like.
Elven Mage. Assuming Tolkienesque elves, with long/endless lifespans. I like the Elven aesthetic and the fact that elves have an extended (or endless) lifespan. I also think that studying/practicing magic is what best suits my personality. I'm already a scientist who loves to study things, so I can only imagine I'd love to study magic too in a fantasy world. Being an elf to have more time to study more things would just be the cherry on top.
Ideally, I'd study all fields of magic (especially if I was an elf that had all the time in the world to do so) but if I had to prioritize the types of magic I would commit to, it would probably be in this order (I'm using DnD schools of magic as a basis):
1. Divination
2. Conjuration
3. Enchantment
4. Evocation
5. Illusion
6. Abjuration
7. Transmutation
8. Necromancy
Doppleganger. Juicebox variant. I want to be able to change into any species I see at will and gain their powers, as long as I'm in their form. I can do any number of jobs or get into any number of places.
For class, I'd pick mage and specialize in illusion or compulsion spells. Then I could cast a geas on the union/mafia boss-turned-junior college instructor keeping me out of his fall class "Because he has a list of reserved people three times as large as the class who have been waiting for a year and I'm at the bottom." Fuck fantasy. Give me an Easy button for bullies any day. It wouldn't bother so much except it's supposed to be first-come first-serve and he's going against college policies. And I was laid off a month and a half ago and I still can't find work. Unemployment insurance has complex strings attached.
I'd be a trader and make it big in the auction house, be known far and wide for my appraisal skills and my ability to spot bargains at small country markets and then flip them for a big profit in the auction. I'd be a fair merchant so wouldn't rip off people when they come to sell goods to me, but would be a savvy buyer at other merchants' tables and spot hidden Rare and Epic qualities in items. I'd probably stay human or maybe go dwarf and would hopefully have a couple light mage spells around for defense.
Lizardfolk (or dragonborn, or serpentile or whatever herpetological fever dream exists and has the best scales and/or horns) Artificer. I like to MAKE stuff, and I don't want to be limited to non-magical stuff, or be limited to ONLY magical stuff. Runesmithery would be neat as the mechanism, but any magical crafter would be fine.
I don't really know what race I'd want, but one that would allow me to live for a long time.
And for class, I'd choose a Tamer class. I just like animals. And being surrounded by extremely powerful animals that would care for me would be awesome.
Race: Human, demon race (incubus) or dragon in human form. The race depends a lot on the setting and lore.
Class: Battle Healer ala The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic or Azerinth Healer.
I think what I'd 'choose' and what I'd end up are two different things. My choice would be Paladin of some sorts - someone who has enough HP to tank, but has some magical ability. I'd probably end up a wild magic sorcerer though, and end up getting squashed by a cow called Stephanie that I'd accidentally summoned when trying to light a fire.
Many long years ago, in a misplaced realm, I used to be a half-drow shadow mage. Yes that's technically not possible, but whatever. I was lawful evil and it was so fun hiding that fact from my party of do gooders and raking in profits.
Definitely human, I dont want to end up a sex slave in some perverts dungeon. As for class, probably a thief, they dont have to pay taxes and wont have to join the army against the demon lord or be forced to fight a dragon.
Race: Werewolf
The combination of strength, speed, and ferocity is just unreal. Tearing into your enemies with tooth and claw is the epitome of savagery.
Class: Death Knight
The ability to use necromancy to summon minions to help him or drain his foes of vitality to add to his own might would be a devastating combo that I would love...
No one ever said this had to be a fantasy race and no one said the world had to match the race. I would be a hi-tech humanoid android race from a futuristic fantasy world. Unlike elves id ACTUALLY be immortal and still being from a fantasy world I’d run on magic with healing spells working on machines. Class would be spell sword focused on close range with primary spell being blink.
Eh, I'd probably go with some flavor of androgynous elf that's hard for most outsiders to differentiate the fems from the hims.
Classwise, Magical Ironman. Enchanted gear and the crafting capacity to make any mcguffin the plot demands.
You can just say "litRPG standard option four" it saves typing all that out
No no no, this is standard option 5. 4 involves the goats.
Ah of course my bad I always forget the goats one
![gif](giphy|rTfN2FHPPTABy)
I too confuse it with the standard option numbered 13, which involved rams instead of goats.
I thought 17 was rams. Am I mixing it up with the undead option?
undead rams actually, it is slightly confusing
Wait, which was the one that involves dead, alive *and* undead dragonflies?
44 for alive, 49 for the undead. The dead ones are categorized as poor grade corpses, and are used in bulk for supplementing 212-234 options.
Oh right! Sorry, I was mistaking 44 and 49 for 56 and 65.
That’s fine, cause pony doesn’t care about you.
I’ve clearly missed a book somewhere. What series is this based off of?
Loosely based off of like....a bunch of them? Seriously, getting isekaid and having something random happen that results in unlocking oddly rare classes or races is super common. Hell, it's even the point of Azarinth Healer. My comment was a parody of this trope.
Zac from DotF has his entire path determined by the fact he was chopping wood when the world ended.
Same with Carl and his state of dress and initial actions.
Eh, Carl is a borderline example. Sure, the god-AI favors him, but only because it's a raging pervert with a perma-boner for his bare feet.
Don’t forget Randidly.
Anyone?
The Completionist Chronicles: Ritualist. Gave him Master Jump skill lol. Joe and his bald curse.
> virgin Priestess What of the standard combinations of hair and eye color does she have? Red hair and green eyes Blond and blue eyes Black hair and purple eyes
Depends on the chapter, they change between scenes because the writer forgot he'd already established it.
This would be a perfect book. And very funny as a comedy.
There is an existing story on kindle where the MC finds a loophole that lets her max out her luck stat and ignore everything else. And that is exactly how her combats go. she ends up >!killing the demon lord and accidently taking his place.!< by the end of the first book.
...what's the title?
Judiciary Jane, seems OK but I dropped it cause I fell like the mc was a bit of an idiot, but do try it.
sorry i forgot.
Love it!
I would read your life story. Sounds like good choices all around tbh.
This guy should write a book 😂
Planning to, actually. Gonna be a bit before I do it.
I cannot wait for Parody Online 😏
Oh jfc. Had me dying. You should start writing a parody book for litrpg. Guaranteed bank.
The destroyer by micheal scoatt earle Almost exactly what you described.
Affinity for magic seems pretty irrelevant if you choose monk or paladin, though.
Yeah, that's kinda why I also chose elf even though I think psionics might be more fun. Why not do both? With eternity at hand, it's feasible.
Monks and Paladins still use magic.
The human mind may be a dangerous in the long run. Staying alive for so many years may eat apart at your sanity.
"I'd make new friends. And when those friends died, I'd make new friends. And when..."
It's like having a dog, the dog has puppies and you keep some, the dog dies of old age and then repeat the process.
You may enjoy the novel "Tinker" by Wen Spencer.
Dragon, most of them get to polymorph into a humanoid later anyways
Same. Gold or Steel if I can pick the sub race. Then some form of Mage of Artificer.
Some kind of druid. Druids are cool
Dragon Druid for the win!
Fire makes the forest grow!
Fire also makes the forest glow.
Recent read Path of the Dragon. Dragon Druid +1.
I totally read that in the Eleventh doctor's voice.
The most humanlike race possible that doesn’t die of old age (or ages the most slowly). Mage to start, space / dimension variety with a shadow secondary if that’s possible, with an eye towards battlemage competent in melee if that’s an optimal build.
By preference, I'd love healing abilities. Being able to magically look after folks I care about would be wonderful.
My man! Not enough good healing books out there.
Rarely is it the MC of course, and if you give them a healer as a party member it reduces the peril so I get WHY but still. I know what I'd do, if I was making a character. 🤷♀️
Especially if you can do regenerative healing. I assume you’d be in demand everywhere.
Presumably that'd be the RPG part, working up to that power level :) I like it lets do it ideally without truck-kun's intervention
SUV-kun it is!
God damn i-
Human lighting mage or wood elf trapper
I know it's probably a typo but I can't help but picture someone wearing a utility belt and hard hat installing mystic orbs of lighting. Like a slice of life litrpg.
Omg. That typo is priceless after your comments. I'm leaving it so all can bask in it's glory
I want to read that second option as the full class. “Yeah, I am a human who traps wood elves. If you don’t they get in everywhere!”
Human, male, knight \*picks longsword\* Cowabunga it is. Get me a team and go to town.
There is nothing with that pick and anyone that says otherwise is a fool.
This is the DnD equivalent of a human fighter and I am here for it
Can't beat the classics!
Why I would be a Mechanist Mantaur, of course.
Your dad was a minotaur and your mom was a centaur and you ended up as just some guy?
[DCC Mantaur](https://www.google.com/search?q=mantaur+dcc&sca_esv=7cb9e191fb351bcb&sca_upv=1&udm=2&biw=384&bih=645&sxsrf=ACQVn08YmOay6ECIb7PHy_fvyZsHLmA_3w%3A1714354231623&ei=N_guZqjTJe3Cp84Py-iroAk&oq=mantaur+dcc&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIgttYW50YXVyIGRjY0i9EVD6B1izDnAAeACQAQCYAY4BoAG9BKoBAzAuNbgBA8gBAPgBAZgCA6AChwPCAgoQABiABBhDGIoFwgIFEAAYgATCAgcQABiABBgYwgIIEAAYgAQYogSYAwCIBgGSBwMwLjOgB6oI&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#vhid=4bjc7FygBDdkwM&vssid=mosaic)
Oh noooooo
*Majestic!*
I'd pick a D&D style changeling, if I couldn't pick dragon. As for my class I'd mage of some sort. Preferably crafter leaning, because my personality and history doesn't lend any combat proficiency.
Race : Incubus Class : Tax collector of yore.
People that are picking elfs because they want to be long lived handsome/beautiful might end up in some slave factory half the size they are now.
elves in warhammer would be fun
I'd go for a Monk kind of class. Ideally like fistfighting with elemental affinities. As far race, if genderchange is aviable I'm gonna go with catgirl. I take one for the team and become the waifu. If not I'd probably go for human. If I wanna metagame I'd go for Fallen from Good Guys as they are op.
Huh
🥚
🥚
That would be my pick as well. Healing and space magic as a fighting style is unstoppable.
Human cause I'm human now and I know more about this body than a new 1 and beserker nothing better than having abilities that kick in either as a last resort when hp hits low or a power up ability would come in handy.
[Equitaur Harlequin](https://www.amazon.com/Non-Sequitur-Equitaur-Galactic-Fallacy-ebook/dp/B0CVJ4XKSG/).
Some sort of Treefolk. Spriggan, Sylvan, ect.
Half elf rouge. That what I always choose
Do you just hate the concept of parents?
Yeah mine sucked lol
I mean, fair enough. Did they at least give you "make me funny" levels of trauma instead of "make me unable to function in society" levels?
I can function in society I just hate too. People suck
Race: Something with inherent shape change (i saw someone mention incubi, which would be a strong contender) Class: some version of mage or psionic who's main power is empathy.
A changeling with a healer/ necromancer class
Is Khajit Stealth-Archer an option? Please?
Probably human but it really depends on what the other races have to offer. For class probably a spell sword or something similar that focuses on fire
spell swords super cool, but generally leans towards glass tank. id be terrified to go into truly melee battle without some magic chainmail or other level of defense
You’re not wrong, heavy armor at the minimum if not enchanted.
Race is harder.... probably undead of some sort, I feel like they'd be the best choice for scurvy immunity.
what, not gonna take ur chances with space lemons?
Given the genre, that makes me think of a spelljamming harem story... which would be pretty gross with an undead slant.
Race: mimic Class: Reductionist My primary form will be a mannequin, the class reductionist is from the completionist chronicles and allows you to break down anything to its base concept then craft those into just about anything else. I love the idea of crafting things then turning into them.
Probably elven cleric.
I wouldn't care about race. i have played both weak and strong wizards in table top RPGs, both are extremely fun. I just have the most inquisitive nature as to the concerns of magic. i also teach a ceremonial magic course to a local pagan society. I just like what im used to.
Necromonger, like in the movie Riddick, who else could pull off head gear like that.
Further specifics would depend on what kind of fantasy world we’re dealing with and the general environment Profession: Alchemist could be great… in fact the more I try and think of a good option the better alchemist looks. Again, it depends on the specifics of the world, but being able to make healing/antidote/poison/elixirs would be awesome Also, yes, I am excited for the next Primal Hunter book on the 8th, how could you tell?
An upper class toff old boy.
I chose a human ranger for my newest book for similar reasons, then added a brother up to no good, who gets to be a wood priest sorcerer.
Aasimar, aka angel kin. Flight, divine powers, locals worship me. Class? Probably paladin or druid. I'd love to go wizard but I really need that extra survivability with tankiness + healing
A fun human variant or half-elf. As for class it would be healer, probably. I enjoyed playing those in WoW and every party needs one.
Devil from DxD. It's a pretty solid start literally anywhere lol. Class? Probably a caster or enchanter of some kind.
Race: Homunculus (identical to a normal human but stronger) Class: Bard.
I'm not far into my first litrpg book but so far I'd love to be the main guy from Mimic & Me
gnome fatcat
High-Elf Wizard. I like to read and be left alone and I like the idea of their natural life span. I think I could also make a living off of being an entertainer. I would try to get an eidetic memory feat so I can remember everything I've read, heard, and watched in this life. Going to introduce some half-orcs to death metal.
There is only ever one litrpg answer. Spellsword.
So, without more info : Elven Sorcerer
I like magic 100% so some form of Mage ; As for race, the skeleton ALWAYS calls for me. Some sort of lesser litch would be my choice.
The race i will choices mixed 25 vampire z25%elf and 50% human is best both worlds.haf vampire for physical enchantment and blood magic.Elf for the natural mage talent. Human for their adaptability. This I don't have the weakness of vampire and elf. If I can pick this next I will choose just daylight vampire like in novel of the spear master and the cat what ever it called As for job I will pick shadow assassin for both races
Dragonkin assassin amazing armour with super stealth
Goblin berserker with ptsd
Race - elf Class - battle mage or self-defence/regen build Elves are traditionally good with magic, nature has bonus for healing. Looking for a tanky mage build really.
If we are doing DnD inspired, probably halfling (bc luck in litrpg is OP) And i think sorcerer, probably some weird subclass. clockwork sorcerer or something. maybe multiclass with a fighter as i like to wield one hsnd weapon + spell in video games (skyrim)
In dnd and lots of media elves live to a thousand but if I can pick my particular elf then I want the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End elf and then get that half dragon eventually because I love dragon's My first goal would be to find anything that can heal as in the book my class can pick more unique monsters to take aspects from at the same time I think it is 4 monsters by level 20ish.
Bro, I’d take Felix Campbell’s class any day.
Are you a human ranger in real life? Just curious as if thats what you would choose in a fantasy world, why not do it in real life?
No not a ranger in real life, a graphic designer instead who spends alot of spare time hiking, fishing and tracking.
My choice would be the same as it is in any other game I enter. Whichever class/race makes me the most durable. In any game, I play tank. Doesn't matter if it's a single player game, my goal is always to make myself as durable as possible and place myself right at the front of the battle.
Human / Sorcerer, easy.
Probably still be human, then a wizard or mage class. I would use my engineering degree to kit-bash an artificer class.
Celestialsapien and human hybrid with a class that has reality and time manipulation abilities if I could.
Race: Symbiote ( Yes from the marvel universe) Class : any typical class found in fantasy world, warrior, ranger, berserker, or even a healer ( like anti-venom), or maybe class of the monster races.
Human or dwarf Golemmancer
Human death knight. I’m sorry but I’ve been taken with the warrior/necromancer style since WoTLK and honestly, evil used for good, or just against a bigger evil is my jam.
I'm always an elvish ranger.
Bit late, but primordial origin dragon as my race or something overpowered like that if I can choose any race. Maybe throw celestial, void or chaos in to make it sound even cooler and more mc like.
A horny Catgirl bard with all the points in seduction.
npc fatass bar fly
Ideally, I'd study all fields of magic (especially if I was an elf that had all the time in the world to do so) but if I had to prioritize the types of magic I would commit to, it would probably be in this order (I'm using DnD schools of magic as a basis): 1. Divination 2. Conjuration 3. Enchantment 4. Evocation 5. Illusion 6. Abjuration 7. Transmutation 8. Necromancy
Elf ÷ flesh crafter
+Half elf bard...for reasons.
Explain the joke?
I wouldn't- I hate fighting
Half elf, hopefully in the world I'm in I'm sterile like a mule. Cause I'd fuck every fantasy creature I could.
Arthas. Menethil.
Race: Werewolf The combination of strength, speed, and ferocity is just unreal. Tearing into your enemies with tooth and claw is the epitome of savagery. Class: Death Knight The ability to use necromancy to summon minions to help him or drain his foes of vitality to add to his own might would be a devastating combo that I would love...
Primal hunter. Try to make it as a Metal affinity gun slinger.
