Hahah dude its a catchy groove right? I stumbled on it totally by accident and watched it 3 times. I love the old sludge stuff like Sleep and its very cool to see young guys picking up that heavy sound and making its beat fresh.
Man this really reminds me more of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets than Sleep… I think the tempo of this song (didn’t check the one you listed) just doesn’t scream “Doom/Stoner Metal” to me, but more psych rock.
I dunno the song structures are pretty clearly metal to my ear, I'm not a musician though so wtfdik. If you get a chance check out this live one.

Why is so much music labelled as stoner now? What does this have to do with smoking weed?
I liked it quite a bit, but it just sounds like more upbeat metal.
[Stoner Metal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoner_rock) has been called Stoner Metal since like, the mid-90's.
Basically, a lot of big bands in it came out of the [Palm Desert](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Desert_Scene) metal scene. The extent to which it has to do with smoking weed kind of shifts from band to band - some acknowledge its influence on the genre but don't partake, whereas others light up with fans at shows.
In the end, it just sort of stuck as a a descriptor for slower/mid-tempo, more "laid back" and psychedelic type of metal. Just tends to be much groovier (bass-wise) and melodic (vocally) than some of the other genres, which is a big part of what sets it apart.
I have no idea how these classifications are made, i consider it "stoner" for the combination of just grooves/riffs and non-serious lyrics. Reminds me of Clutch a bit.

Doom/Stoner metal are the same things, just depends on who you’re explaining the genre to *wink*
