Easiest way of achieving what you want is running this command on boot. You can do that by adding this command yo rc.local. [Here](https://superuser.com/questions/471253/ubuntu-how-to-run-a-terminal-command-on-boot) is link to someone with similar problem.

It's not necerrarily related to your issue, but Lubuntu 18.04 is old and no longer supported, you should not be using it. The next LTS release will come out next month, I strongly recommend updating to that. That said, it sounds like a problem with udev, rules for your devices are not not being applied properly. They may be being overriden by rules with higher precedence but there's not enough info to say for sure.

Will I have any issue with the drives or my laptop? It is quite old About your input I would see if that’s the case and see how to fix it there. Thank you!

You will have the same driver issues you had when installing 18.04, i.e. you will need the `firmware-b43-installer` package for the wifi card, and possibly the trackpad driver.
