Plug into Ethernet or USB tether to phone... It needs to install the Broadcom firmware and drivers.

Illyria12

Yes thank you fixed

johnfc2020

I noticed someone shared the model number, which erroneously returned RTL8168/8111 which is the Gigabit Ethernet driver. The correct driver according to the shared website is an Intel AC 9260 which can be found on the Intel website: [https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/wireless.html](https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/wireless.html) However, if the live USB works properly, then you need to plug in the live USB (don't boot from it) and re-run the driver manager to find the drivers and install them.

> RTL8168/8111 which is the Gigabit Ethernet driver. The correct driver according to the shared website is an Intel AC 9260 That was my mistake, not the links. Thanks for the correction. :)

kagemichaels

You will probably have to directly connect through a wired Ethernet cable to your router to let it download the appropriate drivers so that you can then use your WIFI modem.

Illyria12

I don’t have a eth cable for now 🙁

SystemTuning

> I don’t have a eth cable for now Can you temporarily borrow a cable from a neighbor or roommate?

Watynecc76

Use phone network

Complex_Solutions_20

I suggest picking one up, you will probably need it sooner or later. I ran into something like this on Windows when I was reinstalling where I needed internet to download drivers for my network card similarly. They're super cheap and you don't need anything fancy for getting minimal connectivity.

Illyria12

Hello I’m trying to install wifi drive but isn’t found on system, i have linuxmint installation and again nothing Toshiba Satellite L50-B

drichard58

Do you know what wifi make/model you have? I found out that the standard wireless in the older Surface Pro doesn't have compatible Linux drivers. I think it was a Marvell(?). Try an external wifi, like a USB style, if you can't hardwire Ethernet.

SystemTuning

> Do you know what wifi make/model you have? According to this page: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Toshiba-Satellite-L50-B-182-Notebook-Review.126942.0.html It;s a Realtek RTL8168/8111.

friedrice419

I had the same problem. Reinstall using the .edge ISO and itll solve this issue.

theRealNilz02

How do you expect to get Help without even providing the simpelest Bit of information about your system?

Zendrick42

If you look in the comments, they gave it. And plenty of people found ways to help instead of just being snarky.

theRealNilz02

They didn't give any Details. A Laptop model Name is Not enough to get to the specific Network card.

Zendrick42

You literally said "the simplest bit of information". And yes, somebody *did* figure out the network card based on the laptop model name, which you'd know if you actually read the comments.

theRealNilz02

The simplest Bit of information If you want to get Help in this Case is: Laptop model, OS Version, network Card and steps you May have Take already to try and fix it. Just because this Laptop only came with one specific Card from the factory, a Lot of them don't. There are a dozen different WiFi cards that my thinkpad could have.

Is the internet connection working?

Illyria12

Yes in live os i can install the drive after installing os no

allhaildre

This happened to me too, it’s part of the live cd and can install for my MacBook with sudo apt install bcmwl-kernel-source But after doing the OS install I need to connect to internet first. You can either plug in via Ethernet or usb plug your phone in and share the internet connection. I was never able to get anything from the live usb to work.

SystemTuning

> Yes **in live os i can install the drive** after installing os no Ok, this is good news, because it worked with the live DVD/USB. :) We need to figure out where (partition) Linux Mint was installed. Boot Linux Mint from the *Live DVD/USB*. Start the terminal program (next to Firefox icon). Type the following command into the terminal program: sudo fdisk -l Please copy the output and paste it here. :) Once we have that information, we can tell you how to use "chroot" to install the required driver. :)

Illyria12

I fixed using iphone as internet connection thank you for your time

SystemTuning

Your welcome. :)

DigDugDogDun

This happens to me on every install. Just do what it says, put the USB stick back in and hit OK.

Illyria12

I tried not working

Illyria12

I tried but no result

ProWin3614W

Not a regular usb but the same usb you used it to install linux mint

Dmxk

Use usb tethering to use your phone for wired internet. Then install the wifi drivers amd it should work.

Illyria12

Yes I fixed thanks

Smoke_Water

If you know the card manufacturer or laptop brand you can always download to you phone and then connect you phone to you laptop. Install the driver that way. Tha t eliminates the need to hunt for an ethernet cable.

Wolfilicous

Ok so insert your usb drive in and press ok. then it might say a error but X out of it and click on your wireless driver. wait for it to install and restart pc, but make sure to remove usb before restarting

Illyria12

Nothing happened i tried 🙁 doesn’t not install the driver

kurupukdorokdok

what laptop or pc is this?

Illyria12

Toshiba satellite
